Still having this in 10.13.2 (and with a kernel panic error report when I restart).
[doublepost=1512744907][/doublepost]

If it were supposed to be like this, my computer wouldn't display a "your computer shut down because of a problem..." kernel panic error message and report when I turn it back on.

I'm also still having this issue on a new MacBook Pro Retina 15" 2015 after installing 10.13.2. Apple have me troubleshooting if it's being caused by my USB 3 hub or an external hard drive. Of course the fault is predictably intermittent, so I can't pin it down to something. I'm heartened in a way that I'm not the only one as I wondered whether it was a hardware issue with my new computer and whether I should take it back to the Apple Store for an exchange/refund. I don't really want to spend half my time messing around resetting NVRAM and plugging and unplugging external drives. Surely a new machine should be able to cope with having a couple of external peripherals connected!

I'm glad I didn't install this update. Going back to Sierra was a good decision. This feature (and most other stuff) works like a charm.

So is anyone else with a Macbook Pro, touchbar, 15", 2016, getting frequent system dumps (slow login, notice apps restarting). File in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticLogs/*panic shows com.apple.kext.AMDRadeonX4100 ??? When I posted a whilst back I was new to macos and not checked the panic logs. Even in 10.13.3 beta. If the panic here is different I'll start a new thread, if it's the same - YEP I AM DAILY ...

You're not alone. Apple had me reinstall 10.13.2 from Recovery mode, and I haven't had it fail to wake yet. However, for some reason, my battery life is now down to 4-5 hours from 7-9 hours after doing so, which I'm honestly more frustrated about. Coconut battery is still showing 84% battery life, so it's gotta be something about the OS.

Short of perhaps reinstalling essentially, has anyone found any particular solutions that seem to work (hopefully even beyond an individual anecdotal type of case)?

Look at man pmset in terminal
Followed by pmset ... might help you find where the problem is arising.
I routinely use: do shell script "pmset displaysleepnow"
But you can also uise the cmd to shut down disks etc.

Can anyone tell me what the as-shipped default output from 'pmset -g custom' is for a MBP 2016 15" TB?

I'd like to double check my settings are at default before commencing to try more tweaks again

3 system dumps today now...…...

I've had 13.3 installed for a few days now and the problem still persists very consistently. I plugged in my MacBook overnight and opened it this morning to see that it had rebooted overnight. How delightful.

Its been months at this point, why has this still not been resolved? Having to wait to see all of my apps open up and get connected to wifi every time I open my notebook is torture at this point.

This is happening on my 2017 15" running 10.13.4. When I open the lid after overnight sleep, the screen shows the battery and it takes a good 15-30 seconds before I can get to the login screen. If I'm wearing my watch, the machine unlocks immediately and I can see the desktop and dock, but no interactions work at all. . .

If the laptop was closed > 3 hours, then the Mac goes into deep hibernation (aka restart?)

Ways to avoid:
- keep it plugged in
- have some drive (usb) plugged in
- go to pmset and disable standby mode
