Massive EoF* coming for this drama queen. Fair chance he'll end up buying one.
*Egg on face

He'll just do whatever means the most views for his channel. I don't know if he actually believes half of what he says. I tried watching one of his videos the other day and he farted in his recording... i'm good.

He has not yet, but he said he's left it up to his followers, if they donate enough for him to buy one, he will.

You're joking my rear, right? He really is asking his followers to donate for him to actually purchase one? What a turd!

If this is anything to go by (or any of the other celeb net worth sites), dude is worth $3m...

If I can afford one with no issue (and no, I'm not worth $3m by a long shot), he sure as hell can...

Edit:

After some digging, apparently he does this frequently. Most recently with the Pixel 2 XL. He has his viewers pay for his products!

He's not wrong, you just can't defend it, I really think this phone is going to flop, it's gathering to much controversy and hate and will end up not being cool to own and therefore not sell, it's what everybody is thinking that knows or appreciates good hardware and software.

Hilarious. Wait, are you being serious?

Who is he and why should I care?

A blogger that got a pixel 2 xl admitted that the hardware sucked, but kept it because of the software.
And he thinks the iPhone x will be a failure because of bla bla bla.
Oh and if you will donate some money he will purchase an iPhone x to complain about it.

Wow...just wow....seriously what a piece of crap. I can’t believe people actually support him, you just know he’ll get enough to buy the stupid phone and then quite a bit more

Does he actually keep a total of the amount donated toward the phones? Or does he never say so he can pocket the extra?

He sets up separate funds specifically for each handset. So he will review whatever device reaches its goal.

A dude worth what he’s worth should really not need to have people donate specifically for devices. I just don’t get it. Many of the other youtubers use their income to get the devices or get devices through the manufacturers themselves. Why can’t he?

lol, big time flop...

While I don't disagree that landscape isn't great (I could say it's just bad), do people often use landscape? Serious question. I find myself using ladscape exactly never, outside of video watching.

Disclaimer: I don't like the guy. AT ALL. I find him annoying and, well, I won't go on that rant.

BUT... If I didn't want something for myself, and I was making review videos, and I wasn't given a sample from the company, and people were asking me daily to do a review, why wouldn't I let them fund it for me? I mean, if we take this video (which I couldn't watech more than five minutes of) as evidence, he does not like that thing. Regardless of his income level, it makes sense to me that he does not want to buy something he doesn't want with money he has earned. Now, if someone wants to chip in and buy it for him....

Of course we can make the argument that his viewers make him and therefore buying the product to review is an investment in his own brand and etc. So there's that. But I guess I just don't see this as all that terrible. "I do not want this but if you want to send me one to review, I am cool with that".

I haven’t watched the video and probably won’t but I do wonder why landscape video even employs the corners. Why wouldn’t they just trim them to black for a clean rectangle?

They can be - Video can be watched in its original aspect ratio by double tapping. The hands-on videos on YT show this.

Because he makes money from views/ad revenue for doing the review. His subscribers (it's sad that he has any) have a right to request which items he reviews…they are basically telling him which items will get him the most views and thus make him the most money. If you want to be a lawyer, you have to pay for law school, and if you want to deliver pizzas you have to buy a car…if he wants to review things and make money from advertising, he has to buy some stuff to review.

The notch doesn't bother me. Then again, losing the headphone jack didn't bother me either. Bluetooth earbuds are much better than being tethered to the phone.

The notch is more of an extension for time, battery charge and signal strength... id rather have the little ear extensions than to have them replace screen real estate, but thats just me.

Also who uses their phone in landscape to browse the internet? could apple fix it via software?? yeah they can should they?? absolutely.

those two things are not deal breakers to me.

That's my view too. This guy pretty much explains it perfectly, I have no problem with the notch.
