Is iOS perfect, heck no but android has a lot of problems too. The Pixel 2 XL has a defective screen and I would rather have a small annoyance of a glitch than a sub par screen. I have a android for work and I much prefer Apple. Their support is top notch and do they have bugs yes but in a way it’s not surprising the OS on smartphones are super complex and it is harder and harder to always Catch every bug but when there is a problem they usually patch it pretty quickly. I had huge glitches on Samsung, Moto and LG and sometimes they got fixed and sometimes they didn’t. Huge bugs took forever to fix because it took so long to get patches and updates out. Also support is huge for me! Samsung support or Verizon makes me want to pull my hair out and cry. I have never really had a bad experience with Apple. They were quick and pleasant to talk with. Samsung screwed up many times before fixing my issue with my galaxy phone. Do I always agree with Apple and their choices no but the plus still out way the negatives and for that I am sticking with Apple. Also some of Chris’s gripes are cosmetic, very small stuff that is very hard to tell.

Good point - in fact, this will be the first time I will ever consider jailbreaking my iPhone since 2007, just to hide that monstrosity of a notch.

If you’re that hurt by it, why not get an 8 or 8 plus with a huge forehead and chin? Then you’ll also get the home button which you’re so afraid of losing, judging from all the convo we’ve had, and no faceID needed. Why would you purchase a product that you’ve complained about for a few days now and obviously have HUGE (to you) issues with?

You know it's been my experience that people like him who talk so much about their resources in such a condescending way, usually have the least.
I’ve been sneered at at least five times on here by people saying I can’t afford the iPhone X because I’ve expressed an opinion that it’s overpriced. In reality, there are very few people who are genuinely priced out of buying an iPhone X because for the vast majority who pay on monthly plans, it’s not such a big step from what they pay already that they simply couldn’t do it.

I think it just comes down to immature people who don’t yet understand that there’s more to any buying decision than the simple question of whether your bank balance will allow it.

Good point - I buy and test every major iPhone design iteration for myself. It's just something I do. Doesn't stop me from complaining though.

Obviously. However, don't you think your rather pointed arguments would be better off being saved until after you've used the device then? You would save yourself a lot of arguing, I think...

I mean... If I don't like coca-cola because of the aftertaste, I surely don't go out of my way to pay for a 12 pack.

Getting rid of the home button is a plus. It was the single biggest point of failure on the devices and took up precious space. You barely need to touch it on the iPad now as you can quickly navigate around with simple gestures and from the videos today it appears to be simple to navigate around on the X.

I guess it’s true that you should distance yourself from the negative and cynical folk in your life. It’s a far happier place without the dark cloud they always carry with them.

Yep, better stay away. Also, I don't find any of these new gestures simple, or easy to navigate. Must be that dark cloud of cynicism again that's distorting my judgment - oh, darn!

Who says I'm going out of my way? Was rather easy to get a launch day in-store reservation here in Dubai. You've definitely got a valid point - why buy something that I already hate so much right? Well, I'm a technology enthusiast, so I still like to test new hardware myself - even if the outcome simply validates my ex-ante frustrations with the device.

''F the notch'' - I watched some, but sped it up but it made him more frenetic, but better than tv anyway. It's all over but the crying. I kinda agree, all the work on a new screen with a blacked out notch in it.
I liked his passion but I wonder if his wife's nickname is St. Pirillo.

And now "Backtrack" Pirillo has revealed that he is not yet ready to switch over to Android, after all those videos ranting on the iOS and showering glowing tributes on android and the Pixel phones. Does anyone notice that he has made dozens of videos but makes the same point again and again in each video of his and stretches it to over an hour? Yet his followers think he is stating something absolutely new in each video. I think most of his followers are Android users and are even willing to pay to see him rant about Apple. lol

In fairness, he has described android and iOS as an arrow in each leg.

It’s just a matter of where you prefer your pleasures and pain.

Edit: generally Chris is an Apple fanboy at his core and has been since forever.

Pirillo is doing a live YouTube stream right now asking the community to donate so he can buy a 256GB iPhone X. :D

I knew he'd see the light.
I thought you were kidding. I saw in one of his first posts on his own recent video, he was sort of mocking people for all the justifications they offer for the $1000 smartphone. I think he’s made some good points in various videos, but he can’t seriously think people would send him money for anything, seeing as he’s able bodied and has a beautiful home and family, as opposed to donating to disaster relief or helping people with actual needs like medical bills and serious stuff like that.

Is he just kidding around? I mean he’s gotta be kidding around. People wouldn’t donate for a “cause” that...jeez I don’t really know the words I’m reaching for.

If not, man, the world’s a weird place. Or at least YouTube is.

I'm not kidding. He got to $700 I think by the time he gave up.

There was a guy on gofund me that got a couple grand promising to live stream making a sandwhich (or something like that. dont' remember what).

I remember a case reviewer way back with the 3g not even asking for money. He just mentioned he wasn't getting the 4 due to money and apologized for not being able to continue case reviews. Community got together and sent him a ohone.

You'll buy the phone with the notch, then you'll buy the “new” “upgrade” without the notch next year (or in 2 years!).

I usually don't watch this guy because his voice totally irritates me, but he's absolutely right about the ugly perma-notch. Design decisions at Apple are questionable.

Speak for yourself.
Black bars on the top and bottom? Waste of screen?
Thanks, but no thanks.

Disappointing in one sense, but in another I can see him doing a video on the X (whether positive or negative). What I don't get and it definitely rubs me the wrong way is that I'm sure he makes plenty of money on his videos, and subscriptions yet he's asking his fans for donations. Not sure I'm liking that move at all.
