My two favorites are both Sony-made. But I'm a video guy, so maybe that's just me.

At any rate, I've been happy with both of these:

These are good all-around headphones:

This one is big and bulky but usefull if you're someplace noisy and want to kill sound around you. This is my favorite for airline travel:

So I guess cans is some young "cool" way to say headphones?

Right alongside stingers, sticks, and C47s, 'cans' is a professional film industry term.

Often a one in-ear headset with a mic on a boom, with 3D printed nylon custom molded in-ear pieces. Very handy for the car. But when I want to listen music at a busy office, it's the Bose noise canceling headset, the quiet comfort 15 with a mic to easily pic up the phone. When I'm at home and I have the time and it is quiet, I enjoy a Grado GS-1

Noise-Cancelling or ANC headphones that run on their own batteries are the best for your hearing... I'm a musician in my late-20s and my ears pop and start ringing pretty regularly, so I've started trying to take care of them. With noise-cancelling binaural (completely covers the ear) headphones you can keep enough outside noise out that you naturally turn the volume down and your head is still full of music. my 2 cents. There are lots of handwringing comments floating around out there from ear doctors who basically think ear buds are going to make us all deaf and on bad sound to boot.

I have a pair of ableplanet folding noise-cancelling headphones. I'm sure there are people out there who will say you should spend more, but for less than 100 I am very happy with these.

I've been using Westone UM-1's for a few years and really like them. Good comfort, sound, and pretty durable for a little over $100.

Yuin Pk-2. From what I've read, the best (non-amplified) earbuds you can get. Discreet and sounds similar to grados but very much more portable.

Currently I am using a denon C751. Love the soundstage, forward mids and sparkling treble. Could use more base, better clarity and more separation, the C751 does tend to get muddy with complicated pieces. Was thinking of earsonics SM3v2. How does it compare to the denon C751? Would i need an amp for the earsonics with iPhone 4S? Prefer to run ampless. Also would it be a better upgrade compared to say x10i?

V-Moda Vibe IIs and Bose Mobile On Ears (yes i just said that). Mostly use the Vibe IIs though...

Has anyone tried the dual driver Apple in-ear phones?

They look like they are well made - and for $79 for a pair of dual drivers - and screw on mesh screens - seems like a bargain - unless they suck...

The use of Skull Candy, Bose, and Beats in this thread makes me sad. :(

I use these.

Whoever voted negative is insane

I'm with you on this one, there is nothing worse than compromising on sound quality.

I use beyerdynamc dt 250s at home

Out and about I make do with the bundled ones as I can control the music and Siri with them. I haven't investigated other inline solutions yet.

Bowers & Wilkins P5 over-ear headphones: http://www.bowers-wilkins.co.uk/Headphones/Headphones/P5

They're essentially the mobile equivalent of the B&W MM-1 speakers I use with my Mac. In my opinion, it's an unbeatable combination that complements Apple products like no other. ;)

Seriously, though, the sound quality (and more importantly, accuracy) of both is excellent and well worth the money. Beats, no matter what people might say, are all flash and little substance. They sound impressive, but are very poor in terms of 'high-fidelity' and cause a lot of listening fatigue. That's coming from experience of owning a pair of Beats Studios, by the way. Also, the P5 build-quality and design is unmatched (again, in my opinion).

Oh, and the P5 iPhone remote/mic is awesome.

I love my B&W P5's. Outstanding sound, build quality and comfort. Well worth the $300 to me.

Wow .. that is tempting, I don't know .. I think this cans is a bit of my league. Maybe I'll go check out B&W C5 for now.

But please do tell .. how do you have that shiny chromic on iPhone's steel band?
Is that custom made? Or what kind of shield do you use for it? How much did it cost?
