Not confusing just silly. I guess I sounded just as foolish to those older than me when I was young (I'm only 39 ffs)....... I guess it's true what they say, you DO turn into your parents.

I think it's more the scene than the age (coming from a 35 yr-old). You browse around places like head-fi very much and it sticks.

BTW, my impression was that "cans" was mostly for circum/supra aural as opposed to IEM's like alot of people here use.

I go for Klipsch s4 on the go and HD 555's at home.

Skullcandy Titans. Not a fan of 90% of Skullcandy's crap, but the Titans really are great. Can't find anything close for $24.

Yeah, cuz these work so well at the gym and while running. Elitist much?

Funny, I don't remember the op asking for cans only used at the gym or while running. If I needed some for that purpose, it would probably be a set of Shure's.

Those Grado's are leaps and bounds better than any Skullcandy, Bose, or Beats headphones.

Why single me out when others post using full size headphones as well? Butt hurt much?

For all of those looking for some higher end stuff. You can learn all you want, and them some, by heading over to here - http://www.head-fi.org/f/ .

?? No, he said head/earphones. No one claimed those are not superior, the makes me sad comment infers you are superior for having them.

Right.

The op mentioned a "great headset". The other brands I've mentioned do not qualify. They are cheap, and produce tolerable sound. That's about it.

Am I superior? No. I did do my research on a good set of cans though.

In a month or so I'm going to get my iPhone 4s, and I think this kind of device deserve a great headset as it's an iPod that makes phone calls :D

So please, do share what head/earphone do you use with it?
I want a great musical earphone. So, you may share yours along with a short review.
Thank you :)

I use these sometimes but don't use my iPhone as an iPod much:

Pretty decent, in my opinion.

Many can't afford your superior researched headset and listed what they had and liked. Tolerable to you maybe great to everyone else. Type A much?

FYI, you can get a set of SR60i's for $80 and a set of SR80's for about $100 that are superior as well.

Go post on head-fi about using a set of Bose, Beats, or Skullcandy's. There are just better options out there, even if you can't afford a more expensive set.

I have a set of HD280 Pro's too. I guess they raised the price on those, as I remember them being $100. Nice set.

Yup, pretty good for my needs, at least. I just searched my email and found the original electronic receipt for these: paid $83.95 back in '06.

They are great for gaming, due to the isolation. Very easy to forget about everything else around you, like the tea you left on the stove.

It looks like skull candy is a sensitive topic, but I have had them for a while. I have never owned a higher end (I would like to get some someday), but I have listened to some and will give my input. I started with the Titan's, which were decent. My ears would get sore after a while because of the large drivers, but they did have good bass. I just barely got a new pair of Holua's, and the sound clarity is amazing. They are made of wood and this supposedly creates better sound (makes sense knowing that a solid wood room has great acoustics), but it really is above and beyond the clarity of the titans. I listen to a little bit of every kind of music, including audiobooks, so while the titans were great for some dubstep, the holua's make everything sound good. It does have the mic and control too. great sound quality on the calls, no issues with mic placement or other end not hearing me. I would recommend them.

I have the SR80's which are indeed excellent phones (especially for the price), but mine are a bit older (got them in the early 2000's) and have only the 1/4" jack which must then be plugged into the 1/8" mini adapter...this for me, unfortunately makes them rather cumbersome to use with the iPhone...:(

Gotta love the hate on Beats headphones.

I have the Beats Tours, Beats Pros and Beatbox and love them all. They sound great to me, and every other person who has listened to them says the same.

I have some skullcandy's that i've been using for the gym and they jsut don't stay put in my ears when I am jogging. I'm looking for something new to use for the gym that would stay in better (maybe ones that conform more to the ear canal). Any recommendations for me (Less than $40)? They don't have to be audiophile grade as I am just using them for the gym and listening to loud music. Thanks.

Beats
Or
Sennheiser

lol.

under 100, the s4i is popular if you want playback controls, personally I like anything from meelectronics, ridiculous value for performance. shures new se215 is supposedly very good for bass and mids. Refurb monster turbines are 50$ and also have a clean bass heavy sound. Anything from soundmagic, dunu, or meelec, and even brainwavz are very good sub 100 phones.

My preference for the gym is the over the ear (stays put better) meelec m6 clear, can be had for ~20$ (retail 50), and sound better than anything ive heard under 100.

Skull Candy just started using a comfort tip that is like an earplug, and they are way better than the other tips they have had. They come with any new pair of headphones or you can order them separate from the website. I'm not sure if they sell them in any outside retailers yet.

There's no point in polling others randomly. What type(s) of music do you listen to? Are there ones you've tried that you liked or didn't like? Selecting a set is a very subjective process. I mean, I love my Ety's but I wouldn't blindly recommend them as those with a bass fetish would be disappointed. What about budget?

You really need to help people to help you.
