Hmm. Why do you say that? My local Micro Center has one and I fiddled around with the iSee and it seems nice. Why do you disagree?

dust gets in wayyyy to easy and IMO clear plastic cases make the phone look cheaper looking. so that dust that gets in can scratch the back casing up real easy.

the iskin is more form fitting and not as bulky as the iSee

the Contour Showcase would be a better buy if you like the iSee style maybe

I saw the showcase as well, and I heard that it has a tendency of scratching the iPhone. When I tried taking my old 3g out of the showcase, it was so difficult! I dont like the showcase. The iSkin Solo FX is a great case, but that bottom part near the dock connector and speaker makes me nervous. It looks like it would break. :( Thoughts?

i've never recommend any contour cases to anyone so I wouldn't even go that route.

i would check out the iskin or even the incase slider

go to your local apple store and try these cases on..then decide

Too many horror stories about incase sliders scratching the phone. I think i'll go with the Solo because I like taking the phone out a lot to have it naked when I'm away from my girlfriend or other clumsy people. When I'm around my cell phone killing gf though I want some protection.

Would you recommend the solo highly? What will you be using?

funny because my gf treats her phone like a soccer ball and drops it daily in the incase slider.

last night i said "let me take the case off to inspect for scratches"....not one scratch on the back casing. i have used a incase slider for months str8 without any scratches.

so i dont know why people say it scratches

i do recommend the iskin solo though. i'm thinking of buying one myself.

Gun to your head, one case to have for the rest of the duration that you have your phone, which case would you get? The solo or the slider? Color doesnt matter. Just form and function.

incase slider definitely. dockable, better protection and super easy to take apart to use phone naked.

i just ordered another slider haha

Even if I'm getting a White iPhone, which I am? I heard the rubber gaurds on the inside leave black stuff on the phone. Sorry, for all the questions, I'm just curious. You've given me some information to think about and I really appreciate it. Does the slider scrath easily (the case itself). How about get dirty? Does the case allow lots of dirt and dust to get in?

You answers are greatly appreciated.

every vendor is gonna make a bad batch, its that simple. all in all though, the slider had been great to me. you sound like someone who takes care of there gadgets so if you clean the case every once in awhile, you'll be fine.

i never heard of the rubber rails being a problem or even read about it anywhere.

i personally still use the case, and its great.

i also love my innocase II because its lined with felt on the inside, so the back casing never touches plastic.

maybe check out that case or even the ifrogz luxe...other great choices

I guess it would be much easier to make my decision once I have the iPhone in hand. All my beliefs are based on cases with no phone in them and online reviews. Thank you for your answers, and im sure the other people on this thread will benefit from them as well.

no problem

where are you getting your phone from?

if you have a apple store close by, definitely go there. much much more stock.

plus apple will have TONS of cases for you to try out. ask a mac specialist to show you the cases and try them out. you will love one for sure :D

Best Buy actually, its much much closer than the Apple store. I preordered it 2 days ago. My Microcenter near best buy has a good selection on cases.

Im not a fan of the Apple store. I went there and tried the power support crystal jacket on, after the sales guy said it was fine. I tried it and couldnt get it off. He tried then went to the back to take it off. He said he used a "tool" to get it off. That "tool" left 3 gouges on my screen protector, that I had to get replaced (this was when I had a 3g before returning it.)

GAH... i have the worst luck with cases. i ordered the speck candyshell and iskin solo and both have defects... maybe i'm just being obsessive/compulsive.

this is my post from the candyshell drop test thread yesterday:
i just got mine in the mail today. i am pretty disappointed. maybe i got a dud, but the build quality is pretty poor. i bought mine from mygearstore's ebay store. i'm guessing the dual layer design makes it difficult to mold, but there was a "drip" of hard gray plastic on the softer green silicon on the part that frames the screen. (i got the gray/green case.) also, in the corners where the hard plastic sandwiches the softer inner plastic, the hard plastic seemed to be overfilled to the point where there was a thin film of hard plastic over the softer silicon. =( hopefully i can get a refund. the case i got looks so sloppily made.

fast forward to day, my iskin solo came in. i got it in white and there appears to be black specks embedded on the right edge near the top. it looks as if dirt got into the mold. it isn't rough when i run my finger through it - it is perfectly smooth. it looks like i'll be returning this one also.

my last hope is going to be the slider. i tried to avoid it because i really prefer 1 piece designs and it is on the pricier side. does anyone know if the slider will fit into the universal dock (with no adapter) without removing the bottom?

worked perfect with my Touch and it was with the adapter

shouldn't be a problem

always wanted one of these but they always made them available after 6+ months of the iPhone releases but since it's going to work with the 3gs...

Black iSkin Solo for $19.99 off eBay.

I was looking for a case similar to what I had for my 1st gen iPhone, a Speck iPhone Skin Pro, which I loved because it has a slim profile and the sides never stretched out of shape!

Unfortunately, Speck doesn't make that particular case anymore, so I decided on the iSkin Solo for my new iPhone 3GS. :)
