I have this bag from Coach:

It's awesome! I always thought Coach was kind of overpriced, but actually this bag was very price competitive with bags from Timbuk2, Crumpler, Waterfield, etc. and a lot better looking IMO. The nylon feels very nice. It's tough and smooth, and it's not that ballistic nylon garbage that feels like cheap plastic. I have a MacBook Air, but it will easily fit a MBP too.

Where were you when I bought my bag?? Actually I like my bag but it costs about the same as a Coach bag! :( This Coach bag looks great too, excellent find!!

That Booq is a "python system"

I just bought the Booq Boa 3 system, it's awesome. I was debating between the boa 3 and the folee 2, but ultimately went for the backpack because I'm a student and ride a bike... the folee would have been scraping my rear tire and flopping everywhere.

the boa is awesome. expensive, but worth every penny.

What do you mean by "python system," that it will choke you out with the price?

j/k I love mine, solid.

I'm using a Tumi Tech Messenger Bag for my MBP 15". I tried out a few and really like this one so far. First got a Osprey Messenger Bag from REI. That one was nice but didn't like the flap and velcro. Took that back and got a Keen Messenger bag. Another nice one but not very practical.

Finally settled on the Tumi after looking at Briggs and sfbags.com. The Tumi is great. My only slight issues are that the pockets for pens and small pockets are on the flap making it a little heavy and the clips at the bottom. The cost was reasonable.

I don't know...might treat myself to a Waterfield bag eventually. I really like their paraglider clip and hate velcro! But till then, I think the Tumi will do well. I've gotten lots of compliments on it too.

Brenthaven Edge II for the MacBook Pro 15". It is a custom case that fits the machine like a glove. They have other models to fit other Macs as well.

I purchased the new Taipan Slimcase M from Booqbags and couldn't be happier. The bag is the perfect size for the Unibody MacBook Pro. The main reason I purchased this was because of the price ($79) and the size/weight. I wanted a bag that I could fit a magazine or two, the charger, and the laptop.

I was really tempted by that one. It does look pretty nice on their website.

Oh come on, freaking Coach for under $200 & take a look at the pic ^^: now that's style... but no more comments? I'd be all over that deal if I didn't have a relatively new bag, in fact I might just splurge. Coup d'état p0wned us.

^ This one for me. Most versatile backpack you can imagine. I can fit my digital SLR in along with CDs, DVDs, 17" MacBook Pro, and a jacket...

Highly recommended.

How is the hard case? is it a snug fit?

I just got a Crumpler Chester Squander briefcase style bag. I really like it. The late 2008 MBP just barely fits comfortably. I would have liked a bit more storage, but it was pricey enough, the next step up is like $160. A bit rich for my blood.

it looks great. but can't fit 17-inch ones. :(

oakley si computer bag

I love the fact it looks so, well, brutal! Couldn't justify the horizontal, so have just ordered the vertical version.

Geez, does it come with free grenades or do you have to purchase them separately?

:D

Researching it, it is based off their military endeavours, so you're not wrong! Definitely not a bag for work though, strickly casual methinks... don't want my co-workers thinking I'm going postal...

Just curious what cases or bags you are using for your MBP. I'm looking for a durable and rugged case/bag for an aluminum MBP 15.4

Thanks

I got the Cozmo mambo combo. It's professional looking, attractive, durable and it's not made by little yellow or brown hands for $0.05/day.
If you add d rings to the sleeve, you can attach the shoulder strap from the bag and use it as its own slimmed down bag. When flying, I've used just the sleeve and the strap to transport my MBP.
Since I hate leather, I asked them to remove that from the bag. Even though they had to customize the bag, they didn't charge extra and it didn't take as long as I feared.
If you want a good quality bag that will last, go with American made: Waterfield, Tom Bihn, Red Oxx, etc. Yes, they cost more, but you're paying for high quality work that won't fall apart. You're not paying for some designer name that uses child labor to create shoddy bags.

I have a brand new MBP 2.5 also. I wanted a bag thats cheap, easy to open and close, waterproof, freezing temperature proof keep the moisture out, folds to fit my pocket or jacket pocket. Weigh only a few ounces. Get the super jumbo version. :p
