Excellent fit! Specifically made. My one is for the 17", but they do a whole range. Not particularly cheap, but excellent quality & as the saying goes - 'you get what you pay for'. I was happy to spend the money to ensure my £2000 laptop was safe.

I have a late 2008 15.4 inch MBP. I noticed Booq makes the hard case in that size, but isnt the new MBP thinner than then other MBPs? Im worried that it will be lose inside.

ive got my 17" MBP in an incase sleeve inside a Large Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger Bag.

I also have a incase nylon sleeve plus in black.

Geez, does it come with free grenades or do you have to purchase them separately?

lol...i wish but they come separately. i liked the military-styled look, has a lot of pockets, and it can take a beating. it also has a laptop sleeve that can go through tsa without a problem. a lot of the bags out there look the same and i wanted something different. also since oakley doesn't make them anymore i won't see anybody with the same thing.

Incase sleeve here. Works fine, but I also have a padded laptop backpack that it goes into for double protection. It's called an iPack, got it a few years ago, don't know if they still make it. It cost around $50.

My brother has BBP Hybrid Hamptons bag for his laptop, it works great. Only problem is that I can't seem to find it anywhere on sale online. Has anybody seen any places that sell them? Canada or US or online?

When I got my 17" first gen MBP, 17" laptop cases were very rare. Even my local Apple store didn't have any, they suggested I just buy from the Brenthaven website, which I did. Brenthaven had literally just released their very first 17" laptop case, which is the one I have. No where as whiz-ban looking as the ones posted already in this thread, but I am very happy with it.

I also use a Speck red hard plastic sleeve for my MBP.

Jack Spade...

I personally feel that there is no smarter bag available than the Jack Spade line of bags (at least for men). The look is smart and classic and totally functional. Not too mention these bags are so heavy duty they will last forever. I've owned my smaller one for 7 years (bought it for my previous 12" PowerBook) and it still looks brand new. I bought the larger Field Bag for my MacBook Pro (15") and it's a winner also. I also just got the Booq Taipan Skin for the MacBook Pro to rest inside of the bag. Although, Jack Spade does make a regular Field Bag (mine) and a Tech one, I prefer the regular so I can use the skin with or w/o the bag.

I do a lot of bike riding (see my location) and that extra strap you see in the second picture really comes in handy to hold the messenger bag is a stable & comfortable position while riding.

Are there any hardshell cases currently available for the new MBP? I love the ones Incase makes but I didn't see any for the new model.

I use a Crumpler Gimp and a Bagaboo Workhorse (awesome courier bag, I mean a real courier bag) if I'm on the bicycle, otherwise I use a North face Recon backpack.

Would you guys recommend a sleeve for my MBP if I was going to carry it around in my backpack or should I just buy a backpack for it?

I was very tempted to get the Booq Vyper M3 but I had a critical look at the equivalent Vyper I bought for my white MacBook and it really isn't that great for the money. I doubt it offers much more protection than a neoprene sleece. When empty the Vyper is quite flexible.

Instead I've decided to wait for the Axio Hardsleeve.

For now I'm using an Antler Tokyo 15.5" laptop case. It's too big, but I'll make do with it for now. There doesn't seem to be a really good hard sleeve made specifically for the unibody MBP currently available.

i'm using the incase 15" case, and i'm loving it with my unibody.
i like the neoprene inside and the simplistic black outside. the sides snug into place perfectly, the top will have a little bit of room, but it's perfect for zipping it up.

i would say both. a sleeve would keep your notebook protected. and a backpack is for carrying it around. i wouldnt just put my notebook into the backpack without a sleeve, might get scratched or dirty from other stuff inside, even if there was a slot for it. if cost is an issue, get a cheap sleeve and a nice backpack.

Do you mean you have unibody or not? Because I've got a Brain Bag and Binn's sleeve only works vertical in that bag not horlzontal so can you elaborate?

Tom Bihn's Brain Bag with 4Z Horizontal Brain Cell for Late 2008 MBP.
