Space grey all the way... IMO, gold laptops are the ugliest devices ever created... "gold" lives somewhere between "trashy", "gaudy" and "ghetto". Only "rose gold" would be worse.

I picked up a Space Grey MBA M1 yesterday. I’ve had my silver MBP for 9 years and love the Silver but needed a change.
It would be cool if Apple did like a medium-light metallic blue colour..something different.

I used to like Space Grey and it's still sexy, but on a black desk man does it lack that pop. Perhaps if I had a lighter desk i'd appreciate it more, kinda missing that pop the keyboard has with silver these days tho. That and good lord everyone has space grey these days, kinda sick of seeing it.

I have had my gold now for about 5 days and it is great. I think this gold on the M1 MBA is more copper colored than the gold I had on my MacBook 2015 which I traded in. Loving the machine though
The color is a bit of a chameleon depending on the lighting, right? I've noticed the copper look in YouTube videos but when I saw it under florescent lighting at Best Buy it looked more Rose Gold.
Maybe not the best example...but reminds me of the coral iPhone xR, not in color but in the way it changes depending on the light, seeing it in person versus seeing it in a photo, video, etc.
Is it possible to merge these threads?

Picked up my base M1 MBA last night (it's great BTW). I went with Silver this go around. Wondering what you all went with? I feel Space Gray is always the most popular but let's see.

Was on the fence between Space Gray and Gold for a few days.. I've always gotten Space Gray, but wanted something different, since the M1 is really a new "generation" for me.. and I wanted it to be different.
No regrets, so happy I went with my gut..

Is the "gold" actually a rose gold? Or like an in-between color, between gold and rose gold? It looks to be rose gold, in most of the photos, but I don't think I've seen it in person.
I choose to think of it as more a bronze gold, that way I don't think it is rose colored. I chose the open box best price, which happened to be the gold color.
My macbooks to date (2) have been silver, I quite like the silver colour and have gotten really used to it!
I just got a silver MBA and I honestly think silver is my preferred choice, especially since it is supposed to hold up a bit better with wear and tear than the space grey. That being said, I'm thinking of changing from the 8GB MBA I got to a 16GB one, and the only 16GB ones that occasionally pop up for store pickup are the space grey 8/16GB/1TB variant, so I might switch to space grey if I find one for store pickup. (Silver doesn't seem to be available in this configuration for store pickup...)

Got mine in space grey a week ago. Was a nice change from the usual silver.
I think I might enjoy gold around the home, but if I'm travelling with it I think low-key silver is the way to go and went with that.

It's a bit of both depending on the angle and lighting. Sometimes it looks more bronze, too.
