As long as you people know you're wrong.
Actually, I think that's even worse.
It doesn't really matter if it is technically wrong. English is all sort of complex rules and nobody has it right all the time.
The problem is, OS X is just something that rolls off some people's tongue better than saying OS Ten.
OS 'ten' as the operating does! Open your terminal and type say "OS X"

In my experience, a person pronouncing "OS X" with "ecks" immediately received the "You're too stupid to work here" look.
In consulting, that's not a good thing...
People who say "Mac OS Ess Ex" are Mac users who either:
- Never used Macs prior to OS X (i.e. OS 9, OS 8, etc.).
- Switched to a Mac from a PC.
- or are just not computer people.
Hmmmm,
When you see the Roman Numeral X you dont say "Roman Numeral X", you say "Roman Numeral Ten".
If the next OS is called OS XI are you really going to call it "OS Ex Eye"? Really?
It is OS Ten. It isnt up for debate.

Saying "Ou S Ex" is utterly wrong and retarded. You don't say "Vindows" or "Windovs," do you?
I don't see why you would insist on pronouncing it incorrectly. It's very, very, very stupid.
