The animations need to be 2x as fast, and not a decimal less. The main reason I went back to iOS 6 on all my devices was just how damn slow iOS 7 animations are and how long they make you wait before letting you do what you need to do. I get it, Apple, you have new animations. But when I'm in a rush and need to access something quickly, I'd rather have the phone responsive and ready to go and less of an attention whore, which iOS 7 pretty much is.

It's more about what they didn't do than what they did.

  • Airdrop isn't the way to send and receive files to computers and on-Apple systems it needed to be.
  • File management in iOS is still a complete disaster.
  • App store navigation is still very, very poor.
  • You still can't kill Apple Maps in favour of something that knows where it's going.
  • There's still not enough cross app sharing and the sandboxing is too restrictive to make proper applications.
  • The restriction on apps including links to purchase without giving Apple 30% has resulted in some truly terrible UI.
  • There's still no good way to download files to retain them in Safari.

Does anyone else find the four finger up gesture on iPad to get to multi-tasking feel really unnatural. It seems to have a longer delay and the fact that the app previews move to the left after doing it makes it feel odd, whereas in iOS 5 and 6 it felt like you were literally dragging up the multitasking draw. Anyone else share this feeling? Never seen this mentioned before, but it really bugs me.

1. the keyboard ... I would very much prefer the darker keyboard which you randomly get for things like spotlight and the appstore.

i wish the dark one was the default one and i dont even understand why the keyboard is randomly different on things like spotlight in the first place.

2. file management, one thing i love on android. why cant apps work better together.

3. airdrop why cant i send pics and things like this to the mac

Sorry to say but i don't like any of it, and yes i have tried 2 of the 4 betas.

I will not be updating to it when it's released and will also look elsewhere when my upgrade is due.

So disapointed with it along with Jony Ive, i expected better!

For those who already have it installed

We already know the improvements

Give us some heads up on the bad points or things that took a turn for the worse
I don't like the UI. It's interesting how they could take something, make a version so similar to it, but then flatten it with a hammer and use blinding colors. Neon green, pink, light gray, white, light blue?

I've been waiting for them to change the front page, with the big ugly iPhone on it, but they won't do it!

I don't like the background gradient of standard green messages in the Message app. Too little contrast at the top end Write a long one so your text begins at the top of the screen. The light green background makes it harder to read. Far from impossible to read, but it's a bit distracting to me and I have to pull my phone a little bit closer to feel comfortable reading it. However good your eyesight, you must agree - why make it harder to read in different areas of the screen? With blue iMessages it's not so bad, but there's still a gradient with worse contrast at the top.

I look forward to the iOS7 GM, the ensuing jailbreak, and with any luck, a complete iOS6 makeover theme that will retain iOS7 functionality, while allowing for all this 80s new wave design-over-function nonsense to be replaced with the intuitive look and feel I've come to know and love over the last 6 years.

It's been eye rollingly fascinating to watch Apple tweak some of the the tiniest cosmetic minutiae of iOS7 over the course of the betas, back and forth, like a teenager getting ready for the prom, while completely overlooking some very basic functionality...things which were working perfectly well in iOS6.

I'm not using iOS 7 (don't have a iOS device ATM) but from what I've seen... Control Centre needs more options for toggles, more icons per folder, and a way to kill all apps in multitasking

Yep, it is weird. It's cool that it automatically switches to the last open app, but maybe when invoked by gesture, it could just slide up into view and NOT switch.

The stock calendar app. It's just confusing. Agenda Calendar or Fantastical are much better.

Oh no not this again.. it's unnecessary, period.

If you mind about freeing up your memory, you give up the advantages of the iOS Multitasking way (That you don't have to manage your resources), but keep the disadvantages. (less background capabilities)

I'm aware of that. I just prefer to keep it looking as minimal as possible by keeping it clear. It's more of an OCD thing than anything.

*oldish

I don't want to be a jerk or something, but we are in mid 2013 and the 5S is just around the corner, the 4S is a 2011 phone...

----------

The animation effects. They are slow, and make the phone lag when changing apps. In general, slowness is present.
The control center - the light transparency on the bright garish iOS 7 home screen icons make the phone look like an 80s fisher paykel toy.

I agree.

That feature-wise, it is not much of an innovation. What did we really get compared to iOS6 besides new design?

- new APIs for developers
- Flickr/Vimeo integration
- Airdrop
- Audio Facetime.
- Experimenting with prediction (frequent locations, predictive multitasking).

And that's it. No quick reply, no Passbook improvements, no notable Siri improvements, no simple file/attachment management, iMessage still a total mess.

What do i hate in iOS 7

1-The icons

2-I miss the old Game Center wood like theme

3-Auto app update....WHY IS APPLE CONTROLLING OUR APPS?

4-Flat design

5-Siri voice...the old one is more funnier

You hate pretty much everything. I hope you don't update to 7 when it comes out :p

BTW, can't you turn off auto-update of apps?

How is iMessage a mess?

And lots of Siri improvements. Beyond new voices, it can now do much more including calculations, conversions, bringing up information directly on the Siri page, adjust system settings, etc.
