A faster and more refined OS, and some new features would be nice. I don't believe in making a ridiculously specific laundry list of features that *insert other OS* has and getting furiously upset when Apple doesn't cater to my every want and need.

Personally I need few truly new features, just refining of several existing.

The only new feature I would like for them to add is visual themes. Not unlike what is produced by jailbreaks like winter board. Not because I want it, but to shut the rest up cause I'm tired of the whining about how ugly iOS 7 is.

Oh and not really a new feature but the return of extras/LP. Steve said it would happen and it's been 4 years.

You can already do that if you have Open Table and Fandango installed, not sure about in the UK though?

Sadly not. If I change my Siri voice to American English then there's a option to download said apps before being told that they aren't available in my local store.

Opentable does operate in the UK so why they don't integrate this feature is beyond me!

At the very least, add the ability to use panorama while in landscape mode.

Why would you want that? You do realise you get a whole lot more information when you do panoramas horizontally, right? Even when doing panoramas with SLRs you stitch them from portrait photos.

2) NFC. My Visa Debit card has it... so if my bank could design an app where I can tap my iPhone and charge it to my checking account without getting the plastic out then it'd be welcome.
Completely redundant with iBeacon.

Up Next in Music app. Redonkulous we don't already have it! I thought for sure it would have been in 7.1 but not yet! Unless they are trying to keep a lid on it until 7.1gm... One can only hope!

Music app for sure. In landscape mode, the music app looks like copied windows tile layout with albums arranged in alphabetical order instead of Artists as in earlier versions. When playing music, it makes much more sense to next select other songs from that artist or genre instead of albums starting with the same letter. There should be actually more options to arrange by Genre, Artists.
Also less wording on the music app for repeat, shuffle. The loop symbols are well recognized and don't clutter the interface, and looks neat. Last thing you want while playing music is to read the menu text on the screen.

While there is still a lot of design work to be done for future iOS releases, I would prefer an iOS 8 update that has functionality and productivity as its main goal. Things I would like to see:

Functionality:
- Actionable Notifications (Quick Reply, etc.)
- File Picker like the Photo Picker (Maybe implement hooks into Dropbox and Google Drive as well)
- More intelligent keyboard (better auto correct, improved cursor placing for corrections, predictive word engine, editable vocabulary, maybe a Swype like implementation)
- customizable Control Center shortcuts
- default apps (Mail, Browser, Weather, Camera)

Design/Usability:
- tone down the garish colors and white point (already seen in iOS 7.1 beta)
- make text input fields bigger and therefor a better touch target (e.g. address bar in Safari or the dialer in Phone.app)
- eliminate the animation lag of Springboard and the Multitasking UI
- add more contrast to navigation elements to better distinguish them from the white background and title labels
- get rid of the idea to have icons with a white background (Safari, Voice Memos, Calendar, Notes, Reminders, Newsstand, Game Center), it looks too minimalistic. They did a much better job with the new iWork and iLife icons (also simple, but instantly recognizable and still colorful).

- this is my personal impression: I don't like the shapes and blue color of the UI elements (e.g. Safari). It reminds me of the Tron Legacy style in Android Honeycomb. Choose a more neutral GUI color for the background and navigation instead of white & blue. Like space gray & white or neutral gray & black.

Limit the number of emails viewable as per previous IOS.
Search for contact using number pad when calling.
Link contact to calendar events.
Customize control panels.
Number line to the top of the keyboard.
Pronunciation recognition from Siri

I want more options to control cellular data traffic. At the moment, shared photo streams use cellular data. Apple acts like anyone worldwide has access to data flat rates of unlimited traffic and is willing to pay for it. However, there are countries you wouldn't expect to be stuck in the Stone Age of mobile Internet. Yet 150-500 MB (yes, megabytes) traffic limit is quite common in Germany, for example. The country of poets, thinkers, high quality engineering, and greedy phone companies. Your shared photos suck up the data plan in no time, then you can watch the line crawl at 6 KB/sec (yes, kilobytes). Just because a simple check button is missing.

Multi users on ipad, a better or customizable control center and no more safari tabs reloading. Ofc there are more but we all know that some things like file system have 0.000000001 chance to be implemented.

Yes, then No.

- I'd like to see widgets or live tiles on the springboard done the Apple way. The same old boring static icons are tiring to look at all the time.

- Let us put icons anywhere on the grid instead of having to fill up each row at a time.

Widgets I'd love. But the idea of icons anywhere on the grid is stupid. It totally defeats Apple's ideas of a nice organized screen. Not even Android does something that dumb, (and they basically made a crappy version of iOS but at least they kept that a couple of good things).

iOS 7 on iPhone 5 gives you a 4X5 grid. This means you can have 20 icons per page not counting the dock. What I do not like is that Apple forces icons into sequential spots on the grid.

Say for example you put the camera icon in #1 spot (top left corner). No matter where you try to place the next icon is is forced into the #2 spot next to the camera. Then #3 and then #4 until the row is complete.

Android also has a predefined grid like iOS but its more flexible.

1. You can place an icon anywhere in the predefined grid without having to fill up each row one at a time.

2. Unlike iOS, Android's grid is NOT hard coded to be a 1X1 space (icon size). This is why you can you have a widget in Android OS that is 1X2, 1X3, 1X4,...4X4.

I love iOS, I love (most of) iOS 7........ there is one thing which immediately stands out to me when comparing mobile OS, which I would like Apple to work on......the keyboard.

Here's how Jellybean keyboard looks on an LG G2, I'm sure a few people have seen the phone. Granted, the screen is larger than many iDevices so I understand the keyboard is integrated to suit it, but I feel like the screen space of the 5S at least could afford the keyboard some improvements. My manager has a G2 and it's unbelievable how smooth the typing flows, the numbers above the letters strike me as very "intuitive" and so does Swype at this point in the game. The iOS 7 keyboard, to me, in 2014, is more choppy, less visually appealing. Just little things would help, things that would really provide an experience worthy of Apple. I don't want a carbon copy, I'm sure they could put their own spin on these features, but that keyboard needs help, I feel like that tends to be kind of an unsung thing on the wishlist.

I'd just like to have:

  • Change the default applications:
  • Vesper instead of Notes
  • Fantastical instead of Calendar
    etc.
  • Disable the ones I don't wish to use.
  • Quick reply to a message when in an app, similar to Mavericks'.
  • Clear all notifications with one button. Not having to go into the app to get rid of the badge icon.

Allow me to place icon anywhere I like and folder within a folder. So I can do something like this:

image_zps01d47ab9.jpg

Also, give me Swype like keyboard.

Better yet, someshort of file broswer and let me use the lighting to SD card adaptor act like a external storage.

With all these, I will not jailbreak...Without that, I am keeping my jailbreak as long as possible

And you want to have every app in a folder why? I sure don't want that.

Yea, it's pretty ironic. Having every app in a folder would sort of defeat the point, as you would have to scroll through all the apps in the folder...as if they were on the home screen.

for iOS 8 I want new icons, 'cause most of the current ones suck real bad

I also want the mountain lion dock or no dock at all

that's pretty much it for me

1. Option to change default apps
2. Options to remove default apps, turn off notification center, turn of social media integration prompts (e.g. I don't have Facebook/twitter/flickr but still have to see the prompts)
3. Darker theme, less "cartoony"
4. Syncing with "on my mac" mail folders
5. Airdrop works with computer
6. Option to install different keyboards, or, make it better
7. iOS 7 style folders
8. Option to silence group texts (please...)
9. use "transitions" instead of "animations", if you know what I mean. I feel like I am using a demo every time I use my phone, it looks like its trying to show off.

I was thinking about this and i really cant decide. Of course we all want iOS 8 to be faster but besides that what do you want to see in iOS 8? I'm really looking forward to see what you all have to say.:)

In an article it is defined in better way that what should be in iOS 8 and We want these things in iOS 8

1)Change and hide default iOS apps
2)A guest/child account
3)Better iOS app management
4)Stronger inter-app communications
5)Better document management
6)Group FaceTime calls
7)iOS notifications like in OS X Mavericks
8) More Do Not Disturb options
9)Better text manipulation
10)Two-up apps
