Worth mentioning: Best Buy is selling Touchbar MacBooks for $150 off right now, $250 off if you buy a certified open box which are usually in almost brand new condition and come with all accessories and packaging. Basically it's priced around where Apple should have put it to begin with, so if you've been holding out but have some gift cards burning a hole in your stocking, might be a good time to buy.

Also, a MBP w/ Touchbar specs (2.9ghz CPU, Intel 550 graphics, 4 USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports), but without the useless Touchbar and higher price tag. That would be awesome, because basically F that Touchbar nonsense.

Updated Time Capsules, or an Amazon Echo-like device that functions as a Time Capsule. Or Apple collaborating with a 3rd party (like LG with the UltraFine displays) to bring forward a Time Capsule replacement that gets the Apple seal-of-approval, as we all know the team behind Time Capsules is being dissolved.

Apple TV with 4K and HDR support would be nice, too.

I'll probably buy the new 2017 12" iPad Pro. And I'll probably finally get an Apple Watch with the upcoming iteration. I held off of buying both to see them mature first. The second gen Watch is a big improvement and I'm betting the new one will be as well.

Maybe MR should make it clear that this thread is for what we're hoping for 2017, NOT a place for people to whine.

How about you stop whining about people whining?

A cheaper mess is still a mess.

I want to see an iPhone with an OLED display that is edge to edge vertically, or as much as possible reducing the overall size of the device but not the screen size. 5.5" is perfect. I also DO NOT want a pointless curved edge screen like a POS Samsung!

Things I want but don't expect to get:

  • An updated 4" iPhone. With headphone jack.
  • A laptop with 32GB RAM option, function key row, and full complement of ports instead of overpriced dongles.
  • Edited to add: a desktop OS that invites power users and leaves your data on your hard drive where it belongs instead of emulating a dumbed down mobile OS
  • A version of Mail.app that works well with gmail and isn't a total morass of data corruption bugs.
Plus one thing I'd like that's less of a stretch: a ~10" iPad with 4GB RAM.

Haptics for on-screen keyboards. Then no more nonsense with add-on Bluetooth keyboards!

Thorough QA testing for hardware and software before release.

No more hide-and-seek interface design. Easter Eggs are supposed to be a reward for exploring, not an integral part of the user experience.

Updated desktop Macs.
