I would like them to finally release a small form factor computer that isn't underpowered. Something half the height of the Mac Pro while keeping the width and depth mostly the same. That would allow them to use a desktop mainstream CPU and a desktop GPU inside.

The more things they keep standardised the cheaper it will be to procure the parts and that will result in a more affordable mid range offering. The Mac Mini is incredibly proprietary, underpowered and overpriced. The Mac Pro is proprietary and while fast (for 2013 when it was released) is also woefully overpriced when compared to competitor systems of the same specification.

They should of course focus on innovating form factors where it makes sense (laptops, phones, tablets) but in the desktop space it really should just be a box holding standard sized parts, that makes it easy to upgrade, procure parts, design chassis and sell them to the public.

The Mac Pro and Mac Mini are great examples of what happens when you try to design everything yourself, it takes forever to upgrade them. Had they kept things simple they could have upgraded them several times already.

Being able to plug in your 600 dollar iPhone into your 2k MacBook Pro without an adapter would be a good place to start.

Are you referring to the lack of a USB-C to Lightning cable? Apple sells that.

More free base storage for iCloud!

I really don't understand this one. Why do people expect something for free, especially more than is already given? $1.00 a month (read that: $1.00 a month) increases storage by 10x !

I dunno... maybe take a few weeks off from making dongles and watch bands and actually make some computers for a change?

So you need to buy an adapter to plug your $600 phone into your $2000 computer? And this sounds reasonable to you?

Apple needs to get serious about its Macs.

Mac users are the glue that binds the ecosystem and develop all things for it.

Abandoning professional Mac users is the stupidest thing Apple is doing right now.

People need to be realistic. The Mac will NEVER be central to everything Apple does ever again. Those days have past, and they are never coming back.

Just be thankful Apple still maintains a Mac business. Others like Sony have already given up on traditional computers. And Apple will one day do the same and its probably not as far away as some Mac loyalists would like to believe.

....which would have been a hugely popular update as well as trivially easy to engineer.

I'm increasingly in the Cook must go camp.

Whoever is in Cook's position would be defocusing on the Mac. It's a simple busines decision that any CEO would take. Also if they brought in a total insider to replace Cook who had little to no connection with Apple's history there's every chance the Mac would be treated even worse, or even discontinued.

A "vintage" 2017 MacBook Pro using the 2015 form factor and ports, but chuck a couple of USB-C on the side and let us slowly ease into the next transition of ports... please!

I'm due for a new computer at work this year, my request was sadly for a 2015.

They never said they would be the new CEO.

But here you are.

I stop in now and again to see how Tim's future successors are holding up.

And while they've never said they would be the new CEO, they all think they could do a much better job. And I would love to see them try.

Watch - needs cellular, it would be game changing. To be able to go out to the beach for example and stay connected would be incredible. This alone would be compelling enough to convince the masses.

iMac - soon as it gets USB c I'm in but would desperately love the keyboard to have touch bar.

IPhone - long range wireless charging, also game changing. No one has achieved it yet and will give Apple back some innovation cred. Smaller bezels would be great.

IPhone mini - imagine the iPod touch was a phone, done, perfect. But then you have 2 phones runs on the same number. When you leave home you decide do I want my big screen 6/7 plus or do I just take my mini today.

Exquisitely designed wireless corn cob murderer please.

What I'd like to see is probably not what I expect to see, so I'm glad that this is in a separate thread.

Anyway I'd like to see ios devices able to downgrade to older systems just as we can with macs. It doesn't necessarily mean I will downgrade, but I'd like to be able to.

As for new macs with everything soldered down so as to make the computer thinner - well this is terrible! I'd like to see thicker macs - with lots of user-upgradable parts inside - just like it used to be. It was great back then when you could take a relatively modestly priced mac, pull it apart, add lots of bits and pieces cheaply obtained from ebay, put it back together again and end up with an almighty BEAST of a computer! That was fun back then. I'd like to see apple putting this kind of fun back.

Would love to see 14" MacBook with Touch Bar & ID. I don't need Pro performance, I just want a bigger screen on MacBook. 12" is too small, and 15" Pro isn't worth the price for me.
