Price reduction is the only thing which will keep Apple alive. Top end model must start $100-150 lower that today.

A return to product excellence and user experience focus. Each new product and OS comes with a jarring or annoying trade off. I wish they went back to the kind of perfectionism that established them in the first place.

If services are Apple’s future, then they have a lot of work to do. Apple’s services are not the best in class.

Put Siri listener/speaker in every home (cheaper model).
Buy things directly with Siri: groceries, movie tickets, concert tickets,
Acquire a viral social network to integrate with Music, TV, Apps & Games.
Completely revamp iCloud, including iWork web apps to be minimal, easy-to-use, fast, and shareable and editable with anyone immediately.

I'd like to see the software upgrade cycle slow down. Its overwhelming to have to continuously update every piece of hardware / software in the household. Apps, OSX, iOS, 3rd party products. Do we really need to have a new operating system every year? Seriously. All this talk about Apple being green and environmentally conscious, boat load of you know what. These updates brick too many devices after only 5 or 6 years of service. These products should last longer, even at slower speeds. Offer some kind of software solution for those that want things to last.

- Lower prices across the entire computer line up. All the prices are out of control with entry-level specs that are ridiculous. 16GB Ram and 512 SSD should be standards.

- New leadership in Product development, especially in computers. Innovation has been a shame all across the computer line up, putting design over functionality. No one cares how much thinner you can make a Macbook if we lose more than half the functionalities.

- All Macbooks, especially the "PRO" with updatable RAM and SSD (non soldered to logic board). Same for Mac mini.

- A Mac Pro the is updateable both RAM and SSD at a reasonable price. Given Apple's raising prices do not think that will happen.

- A redesign of the iMac- 10 years without updating the external design. The monitor position cannot be adjusted (look at Surface Studio) and make it a touchscreen. Make RAM and SSD easily updatable.

- A lower priced Mac mini, priced like an entry-level machine.

An apple TV remote that isn't crap. The current remote:
  1. Totally fails when it comes to navigating anything
  2. Gets lost
  3. Is probably the most frustrating piece of Apple hardware ever
I agree, Courtesy of Eddie Cue.

Apple Leadership that cares about products and value as much as they are about their incentive compensation.
I agree. Current leadership only cares about making money. Innovation is a complete disaster across of most products, especially computers.

Back to basic that Design is about how it works, not how it looks.

We first had TouchBar, the major problem with Touch Bar is consumer are roughly paying ~$200 more for it, on top of the normal Apple Macbook's margins. That is $200 that doesn't bring any *value* to majority of users. And in fact for some users, it is actually a step backwards.

We have the so call Edge to Edge Design, in order to not have a slightly longer bezel at either top of the bottom, Apple's "innovation" was to have it curved inside. Consumer is roughly paying ~$80 more for this. What *value* does this bring?

We have thinner Butterfly keyboard! In order to have the Keys thinner, which have absolutely no relations to thinner Laptop because other manufacture has proved you don't need these thinner keys to achieve those thickness. There is less key travel, worst keys spacing, and worst of all It is extremely easy to break, expensive to manufacture. Again consumers are paying more when it has little to no benefits.

It can't be coincidence, but it is showing Johnny Ive without Steve Jobs to keep him intact is going wrong all over the place.

There is something very wrong for logic board design in the post 2015 MBP. But these aren't the first time Apple Screwed up, we have even seen many of them in Steve Jobs Era. But the different here is when Steve knew about these problems, and he knew they were serious enough, it would have been quietly fixed in the next iteration. But we don't have these any more, same design flaws are left there for years. Apple is becoming more of a Marketing company. And it is sad to see.

Absolutely nailed it. Not sure who’s at fault but it seems to be a systemic issue from the top down, starting with Cook. Get a product person at the helm. Not a bean counter and logistics wizard. Get Cook back to his most performant role as COO.

On the iOS side: Make a XR Mini (the size of a 6/7/8), and maybe an XR Micro (the size of a 5/SE). The XR is powerful enough, but it's too big. Current internals (the XR) combined with what used to be normal sizes, would fill a huge untapped need.

On the Mac side: Give us a real Pro laptop back, one with a keyboard whose primary design goal was reliability and touch typing feel, rather than thinness. One with a bunch of ports on the side. Yes, I know I can use dongles - why should I have to? Stop making it thinner (nobody outside of Apple is asking for that), give us ports and rock-solid keyboards, along with the latest CPUs, GPUs, and RAM. Oh, and make the RAM and SSD user-replaceable. I don't care if that makes the machine a tiny bit less reliable (I can open the machine and reseat the RAM/SSD in their sockets), and I don't care if that makes it a bit less thin.

And if you want to have a TouchBar strip, put back a real, actual, Escape key. I don't care if it isn't as pretty to have a real key in that row, I need one I can get to by feel, every time, and can rest my finger on without pressing.

Stop being stingy with things like included adapters, base storage, etc. for computers. The 15" MBP can stay exactly the same price but starting at 256gb of storage for $2399 is shameful. Wouldn't the $1999 13" MBP make much more sense with 16gb of ram since it is the top specced 13" option. Including just one usb-c to usb-A dongle and the extension cord for the power brick would do a lot to improve the out of box experience.

Acknowledge that the touchbar isn't for everyone and offer MBP options that, like the Macbook Air, have only touchID sans touchbar. I'm mostly happy with my 2017 15" MBP using the caps lock map to esc hack, but I would be MORE happy if I didn't have to retrain years of muscle memory for a single computer upgrade.

I have zero confidence in any of this happening in 2019 (or ever). But I'm ok with that. I don't foresee needing/wanting to purchase anything from Apple in 2019. With prices the way they are, I'll probably never purchase anything new at full price directly from Apple ever again.

I want a MacBook laptop with these features:

A MagSafe 3 port
2 or 3 Thunderbolt 3 ports
headphone jack
Bluetooth 5.0
802.11ax (WiFi 6)
an AMD 7nm APU or an Intel 10nm Icelake CPU with Iris Plus graphics
16 GB DDR5 SDRAM (or at least LPDDR4 SDRAM)
0.5TB storage in the base model and cheaper storage upgrade options
A TrueTone display
The tapered design of the MacBook Air
Continued support for 32-bit apps
Perhaps an Apple A13X as a co-processor

For me, watch workout app integration with weather and compass information. Being a cyclist, efforts and calorie counts are heavily impacted by wind. It would be nice to get a much more accurate count if the the watch could calculate riding and wind direction, as well as wind speed.
It's got GPS. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Aperture - Born again!
Count my vote for this.

Apple should develop Time Machine 2 for APFS drives and disclose full APFS specifications for developers to make utilities like DiskWarrior 6 to rebuild APFS directory. Until then, it is a deal breaker. Waiting stuck in macOS 10.12 Sierra just because of that. Hope 2019, 2020, ever?

Siri needs major work!
  • Basic knowledge is lacking
  • Need more of a dialog to re-focus
  • Need diction correction interface. Siri struggles with some people voices
  • Siri's skill set is not consistent across devices. I should be able to ask my AppleWatch to read out loud a text message instead of needing to reach into my pocket for my iPhone to read it while i'm driving!
  • When you have two or more Siri devices you can't discriminate between them which should be the top dog.
  • Need more voice options
  • Need different phrase word to wake Siri
  • HomePod needs to discriminate between different people and their music, podcasts
  • I want personalities for Siri

I wish there was an iPhone that goes back to the basic, a communication device. I don't need anything else on it other than to improve talk and internet. I could care less about emojis and animojis!

Smaller XR model

interested to see the new Mac Pro

chinless iMac already

I’d sell my 7 to get a smaller XR and I’m keen on an Apple TV and would love a Mac Mini as a home mgmt centre

Don’t need much else

After the iPad Pro bendgate im keeping clear but would love an iPad Pro eventually, my main feature request there is proper file management ala a real finder, and not only that but the management of proper files types and huge sizes. till then the iPad still doesn’t interest me, but it’s close

A no touchbar and better keyboard for the 15" mac book pro.

If they did this, I would sell my 2016 in a heartbeat.

I agree, Courtesy of Eddie Cue.

The irony behind this is if they would have just upgraded what was doing well with modern internals, people would probably be happier.

There was literally no need to remove ports, solder on ram, or change an entry level machine into a hybrid of an iMac and pro-entry machine. Talk about identity crisis here

New MacBook Pros that retain the current form factor, with improved cooling system, improved battery, upgradable/replaceable SSD storage, and SD card slot. Otherwise I think these machines are great!

The ultimate list of NEEDS, not mere WANTS:
  • Oust of all engineers and managers responsible for the removal of the SD card slot, the butterfly keyboard, the TouchBar, removal of MagSafe (without a better replacement), the removal of the iconic glowing Apple logo, supporters of thin and light extremism such that they laugh at thermal throttling, and all the price increases that go along with decreased product functionality. It doesn't matter of Johnny Ive is in that mix, they all need to go.
  • Restoration of the SD card slot in the 15" MBP, but turbocharged with the latest technologies for maximum speed.
  • Either removal of the TouchBar or a vast improvement that will knock our socks off.
  • Banish the butterfly keyboard to hades and replace it with something that feels so good to the fingers that even people who type for a living will rave about!
  • Implement a great replacement for the MagSafe we've all come to know and love.
  • Make the MacBook Pro chassis very slightly thicker to implement a better cooling system to ensure that thermal throttling is a thing of the past.
  • Use better thermal paste to improve cooling even more. (Goodness knows we pay enough for it.)
  • Restore the extension power cord to the MacBook Pro line. (Goodness knows we pay enough for it.)
  • Totally rethink the Mac Pro, not as the most expensive and powerful machine that nobody can afford, but as a very powerful modular (upgradable) Mac that everyday Mac users like you and me (i.e., not rich) can afford, love, and rave about to all our Windoze friends. Make me love the Mac again. Stop catering to the rich and keeping the Mac Pro a niche product as a result!
  • Find a way to implement touchscreen tech on mobile Macs in a way that works without our physically having to touch the screen. (Some kind of scanner that reads our hand movements, etc.)
  • Fix Mojave so the slow boot problem is resolved once and for all!
  • Either make the 3 MacBook lines starkly different, or eliminate one of the lines.
  • Bring back the 17" MBP with almost no bezels and rim it with every conceivable port!
  • Expand the functionality of the iPad tremendously in hardware and iOS so it is more like the Mac than ever before and able to run a mobile version (yet not stripped down in features in any way) of FCPX.
  • Remove the notch of the iPhone.
  • Add super fast charging to every Apple device.
  • Either increase the number of Apple stores worldwide or otherwise make it like the good old days where we can walk in without an appointment and get things done fast, including iPhone battery replacements while-you-wait.
  • Continue hard work on security features that even the NSA can't crack while at the same time create hardware that is still repairable and even upgradable by parties outside Apple. (Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it.)
  • Invest more in amazing mobile tech to make the iPhone more compelling, even in the eyes of diehard Samsung and Huawei users. (For example, start buying innovative lithium battery technology -- battery tech that gets more battery life, yet won't explode or catch fire even when punctured or cut up by scissors. Also, cameras are the main selling point of most mobile phones, so do something even more ground-breaking here.)
  • Break with Apple tradition and start giving users significantly more RAM, storage and wicked fast GPUs, even in base model machines.
  • A SIRI that is actually worth using (i.e., one that we the end user can TRAIN!)
  • An all new Apple who starts listening to the FEEDBACK we send them. They need to start using our ideas since they seem to have run dry of their own.
  • Elimination of display bezels and the iMac's chin.
  • Lastly, Apple constantly touts renewable energy and how Apple is powered by all green technologies. Create a new division of Apple that brings these technologies to the households of common people (not the rich) so that everyone can be independent of the electrical grid, and so it doesn't take 15 or 20 or 30 years to get a return on the investment to implement such technologies. If Apple can diversify itself beyond Apple "Computer" and get into the music business and then services and now (forthcoming) streaming video subscription services, it can diversify even further, and it should being such a well know brand and having the cash to accomplish such.

I disagree, headphone jacks and touch id are dead. Less wires, less clutter- Bt is better. Plus less ways for water to seep in.

As far as build quality, Apple is doing what’s right. If you want a customizable and acessible machine, go buy a $300 PC at walmart
An addendum - I just treated myself to a System76 Oryx Pro laptop for Xmas. 512 GB SSD, 2 TB HDD, now triple booted with three Linux distros. It doesn''t overheat and scores quite high on the Geekbench benchmarks. It has an aluminum body, and cost me about $2300. I'd take this machine, and this OS configuration, any day over the $3000 MBP with similar specs and no ports. And yes, I could have bought a $300 special, but I didn't. I bought a high quality PC laptop. Cheers, and HNY.

I’d like to see a broadening of HomePod/HomeKit support. Possibly by making licensing for HomeKit a bit more appealing. Adding a small, less music oriented smart speaker and possibly something along the lines of the Echo Show or Google Home Hub.

It seems amazing to me that there isn’t more smart devices capable of use with Siri and HomeKit. There are plenty of lights and switches but things like a home security system and other thing seem to be missing or of limited use.
