A renewed focus on "Pro", with hardware that's actually worthy of the term.

Updated Mac Pro that's a true successor to the classic models and not the overheating mess of dongles that the 6,1 was.

A touch-bar free and adequately cooled version of the 15" Macbook Pro. A removable SSD and an SD card slot would also be appreciated. I don't care if it has to be 1" thick, aesthetics are secondary.

If they can't provide either then sell us an install MacOS for use on other hardware.

Tim Cook reading all this instead of crying diversity (environment, equal rights for everybody except billionaires, politics)

I disagree. I think it's damn good in this horrible time that one guy is standing up and trying to make a difference. It's about time that there was a little humanity and empathy in this world!
[doublepost=1546386748][/doublepost]A really excellent, beautifully designed mesh router system. Other than that, I'm very grateful for the iPhone XS, 12' MacBook, FCPX and Apple TV 4K. Try living with other brands and you'll soon appreciate what Apple offers!

I agree. The issue with Cook, at least for me, is not with his social issues - I prefer him to Jobs in that arena. My issue with Cook is how he has allowed Apple to flounder in a post-Jobs era. Apple has no real direction, other than making profit margins work. Cook is an accountant; Jobs was a visionary.

Apple TV:
An adult sized remote! At least 2 times larger width wise and thicker! I need to use two hands with the current one. I only need one for my regular TV remote.
  • Being able to define default screen. If I focus on movies I want it to stay on Movies!
  • I want a real Pause button! I can never get back to where I left off without spending a good 3-5 minutes re-navigating.
  • I want a backwind 5sec per hit not exit the movie or TV Show.
  • I want a proper scrub so I can get to the section
  • I want a play timer so if I want to tell someone to look at 34:45 they can get to the same part in the vid.

What I'd want?
AirPods 2's with at least splash proof for water resistance. On top of that, I'd love noise canceling headphones that are apple made in the $300 dollar range.
New monitor. Two sizes maybe, in the 5k range. (32 inches and 27 hopefully).
New desktop pro, with user capable upgrades.
new laptop keyboard introduced, and more importantly, instantly put on their MacBook pro's and the air. (Basically, take the magic keyboard and put it in their laptops. Solves all their problems.)
their budget friendly phone starting at a lower price point in the fall. I think more people would have been fine with the XR if it had started at $700, instead of $750. I'd love $650 be the base price of their newest "budget phone".
Air power sorted out and put on their computers.

IMac redesign I guess? (I love my 2015, and have no reason to upgrade.)
As for their laptops, I"ll be buying a used 2015 13 inch in the next few months. It's only a temporary fix, but as a writer I can't handle the new keyboards. If they don't fix their laptop line sooner rather than later, the laptop after that, (sometime in 2021 most likely) may have to be a Thinkpad carbon. I can never leave Mac OS for my work, but for my portable all I really need is the latest copy of scrivener (and their windows version is close to catching up with their mac version.)

I'd love to see Apple finally give us an option, a BTO option or one damn Pro laptop model, that isn't so fracking thin that they can't include a keyboard with decent key travel that doesn't hurt to type on. I can't justify spending $4000+ on a laptop that will be so uncomfortable to type on. Every one I've used for any amount of time feel like crap. I'd rather keep slogging along with my 2012 non-retina for another year.

A new MacPro with user accessible/upgradable PCIe slots (graphics), ram, and storage. Bonus points if the CPUs aren't soldered in place and aren't soldered on some proprietary daughter card, but upgradable by those who care to with CPUs that share a common socket design.

And lets say it all together... Work with, instead of against, Nvidia on getting drivers for GPUs!

I would first and foremost like them to fix the touch response issues with the IPad Pro

Second I would like a feature added to all devices that you can use to focus the screen so you can read it without wearing readers. Simple enough.

The ultimate list of NEEDS, not mere WANTS:
  • Oust of all engineers and managers responsible for the removal of the SD card slot, the butterfly keyboard, the TouchBar, removal of MagSafe (without a better replacement), the removal of the iconic glowing Apple logo, supporters of thin and light extremism such that they laugh at thermal throttling, and all the price increases that go along with decreased product functionality. It doesn't matter of Johnny Ive is in that mix, they all need to go.
  • Restoration of the SD card slot in the 15" MBP, but turbocharged with the latest technologies for maximum speed.
  • Either removal of the TouchBar or a vast improvement that will knock our socks off.
  • Banish the butterfly keyboard to hades and replace it with something that feels so good to the fingers that even people who type for a living will rave about!
  • Implement a great replacement for the MagSafe we've all come to know and love.
  • Make the MacBook Pro chassis very slightly thicker to implement a better cooling system to ensure that thermal throttling is a thing of the past.
  • Use better thermal paste to improve cooling even more. (Goodness knows we pay enough for it.)
  • Restore the extension power cord to the MacBook Pro line. (Goodness knows we pay enough for it.)
  • Totally rethink the Mac Pro, not as the most expensive and powerful machine that nobody can afford, but as a very powerful modular (upgradable) Mac that everyday Mac users like you and me (i.e., not rich) can afford, love, and rave about to all our Windoze friends. Make me love the Mac again. Stop catering to the rich and keeping the Mac Pro a niche product as a result!
  • Find a way to implement touchscreen tech on mobile Macs in a way that works without our physically having to touch the screen. (Some kind of scanner that reads our hand movements, etc.)
  • Fix Mojave so the slow boot problem is resolved once and for all!
  • Either make the 3 MacBook lines starkly different, or eliminate one of the lines.
  • Bring back the 17" MBP with almost no bezels and rim it with every conceivable port!
  • Expand the functionality of the iPad tremendously in hardware and iOS so it is more like the Mac than ever before and able to run a mobile version (yet not stripped down in features in any way) of FCPX.
  • Remove the notch of the iPhone.
  • Add super fast charging to every Apple device.
  • Either increase the number of Apple stores worldwide or otherwise make it like the good old days where we can walk in without an appointment and get things done fast, including iPhone battery replacements while-you-wait.
  • Continue hard work on security features that even the NSA can't crack while at the same time create hardware that is still repairable and even upgradable by parties outside Apple. (Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it.)
  • Invest more in amazing mobile tech to make the iPhone more compelling, even in the eyes of diehard Samsung and Huawei users. (For example, start buying innovative lithium battery technology -- battery tech that gets more battery life, yet won't explode or catch fire even when punctured or cut up by scissors. Also, cameras are the main selling point of most mobile phones, so do something even more ground-breaking here.)
  • Break with Apple tradition and start giving users significantly more RAM, storage and wicked fast GPUs, even in base model machines.
  • Lastly, Apple constantly touts renewable energy and how Apple is powered by all green technologies. Create a new division of Apple that brings these technologies to the households of common people (not the rich) so that everyone can be independent of the electrical grid, and so it doesn't take 15 or 20 or 30 years to get a return on the investment to implement such technologies. If Apple can diversify itself beyond Apple "Computer" and get into the music business and then services and now (forthcoming) streaming video subscription services, it can diversify even further, and it should being such a well know brand and having the cash to accomplish such.

I dunno about some of that stuff on this list..

Particularly around the idea, companies are "better" than anyone else.

Super-fast charge may be good, but is that for you only ? and why would more people want it ? Everyone just decided to work harder and faster, so must charge their devices in an instant? We;re only talking 2 hours here...... If we have time to get off work, come home, and plonk our butt in front of the TV, eat dinner, we can choose to charge our phone.

A guess perhaps stronger magnets on Megasafe ports so i don't have to use these Snuglet.

You mean like the Harmony Universal remotes ?

* TouchID under the screen

* iPhone SE replacement - small, lightweight, all screen, headphone jack, reasonable price...

I realise both of these are highly unlikely (I.e. not going to happen!) :(

Admission of incompetence and public excoriation of Cook, Ive, and all those nameless faceless khaki guys that Steve tolerated. Public announcement that they have lost to chindroids and are putting the company in runoff mode. Cook and Ive can do penance by walking the perimeter of the spaceship daily.

A 30" iMac with the specs of the aging iMac Pro as the bottom of the line iMac with sane pricing. So basically no new Mac for me in 2019. their prices are ridiculous at this point and they deserve the bad press and stock crash they're getting.

Actually, Apple making a profit is what allows them to invest in R&D to come up with products that delight consumers. If Apple made razor thin profits they would not be coming up with great new products nor would they support older products.

^^^This!

Apple's profits are reasonable and in line with the industry.

Still waiting for a stylish Apple monitor for the overpriced Apple Mac mini. 4K. 24-inch. FaceID (without notch). SD card slot for Pros.

How about an iOS Pro for real usage? Include a real file system, terminal, and ability to install DMG's. (Would be nice to see the complete fusion of macOS and iOS so that macOS essentially becomes iOS Pro, and you get one unified platform for iPad and Mac devices.)

A watch that is completely decoupled from iPhone, so that it can be used as its own device.

A much better game app ecosystem for the Apple TV - imagine the TV were more of a gaming console, and you can use any iOS device as a controller. (Pretty sure I read this one on M.G. Siegler's 500ish words, thought it was a brilliant idea.)

Open sourcing AirPlay, or at least making a streaming device for AirPlay mirroring only. Think the Microsoft display adapter, but for Apple. Seriously.

  • AirPower
  • Refreshed iPhone design similar to the new iPad Pros with long-range 3D sensor
  • ARM-based computers
  • Minimized bezels on iMac/iMac Pro
  • Mac Pro

I want my MagSafe back.
I’d like to see a broadening of HomePod/HomeKit support. Possibly by making licensing for HomeKit a bit more appealing. Adding a small, less music oriented smart speaker and possibly something along the lines of the Echo Show or Google Home Hub.

It seems amazing to me that there isn’t more smart devices capable of use with Siri and HomeKit. There are plenty of lights and switches but things like a home security system and other thing seem to be missing or of limited use.
totally agree - there’s a land grab going on right now and Apple aren’t even in it
