The Mac Pro price reduced to under $4000 :).
i'd settle for it to start at Apple's old standard of cost of comparable PC/parts + a few hundred dollars more, not the offensive price its at currently.

cosidering past Mac Pros used the have a entry level approximately half as much (adjusted for inflation) and the fact that you can hackintosh identical specs for about half of Apples current offering is gross.

yes i realize its less egregious for higher end configs but its still egregious

In our What to Expect article that we shared yesterday, we covered everything that we're expecting to see from Apple based on current product rumors and historical release data.

New iPhones with 5G, OLED displays, and upgraded 3D triple-lens camera system with significant augmented reality improvements are in the works, Apple is working on updated Macs and iPads, and AirTags, an innovative new accessory for tracking lost devices, is on the horizon.

Want-2020-800x450.jpg

We could also see a lower-cost HomePod, new over-ear headphones, and there could perhaps be some surprises in store like an augmented reality headset or an ARM-based Mac, but those aren't sure bets for 2020 at this time. There are also some outlandish rumors, like folding iPhones and iPads, plus rumors about the Apple Car, virtual reality headsets, and other far off products continue to circulate.

We want to hear from the MacRumors community. What are you hoping to see Apple release in 2020?

Are there new features you're hoping Apple will bring in iOS 14 or macOS 10.16? New headphones? Updated Mac features? New additions to the iPhone lineup?

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and make sure to check out our What to Expect article for a look at the current rumors. We'll learn more about Apple's 2020 product plans in the early months of the year, and as always, we'll be covering all Apple rumors in-depth here at MacRumors.

Our MacRumors forums are also a useful resource for discussing upcoming products and rumors, and with so many new products rumored for 2020, our forums are the place to be for discussions on what's coming.

Thank you to all of our readers and our forum members for making MacRumors the number one site for Apple news, rumors, and advice on the web. We wouldn't be here without you, and we look forward to another year of rumors in 2020. Happy New Year!

I would love an Apple TV not a separate box. What this tv would consist of is AppleTV 4K built into a tv set with 2 dedicated coaxial ports, so i could hook an over the air antenna, and cable to it. make it look like a giant ipad (albeit thicker), without the touch screen (fingerprints), camera or microphone (privacy). But also make it a computer as well so it could be my televsion and my computer built into 1 machine. Heck even add ipadOS or IOS or MacOS to it, to make it fully capable. the thing with the over the air antenna is so i can my local football games without a cable subscription (chicago bears). besides if i have internet and over the air antenna i do not need cable but for those who do subscribe to cable or satellite tv the product should be fully capable and functional. now as for sound i'm satisfied with my stereo paired homepods they sound excellent. of course i wonder what 4 homepods paired would sound like (one in each corner fo the room for full surround sound). but the tv would also have its own speakers of course. and of course it would need to be loaded with ports (ethernet, thunderbolts). and a great amount of sdd storage. bluetooth and wifi. and then i could add a magic keyboard and mouse and a game contoller if i so choose. this would be so great. but nothing smaller than 40 inch screen. i could see this going larger up into the 70 or 80 inch category. nothing wrong with dreaming. sorry for all the grammatical errors, i hate typing.

Just make the upcoming so-called SE2 have dual-sim capabilities and it is going to sell loads. e-Sim will be sufficient if physical second SIM not possible. Pre-ordering the moment this is announced. Willing to pay the price of iPhone11Pro if the size is not larger that that of an 8.
The 5.4” iPhone 12 will be smaller than the 8 and you’ll be able to get it for a lot less than $999—about $699.

A 15/16" MacBook without dedicated graphics. At least a 14" with scissor keyboard and 10th gen Intel chips with LPDDR4/DDR5 RAM.

Focus on thermals even more. Give the option to the user if he wants a silent machine or a cooler one without fiddling with fan speed control.

Reliable software. 2019 was a mess. Forget the every year new version stuff. Focus on quality, not numbers.

Better quality screens on MacBook Pro (all models with 120hz, real 500/600 nits, miniLED?).

Reasonable upgrade options price, not asking for 16 to 32 GB of RAM the same as the full 32GB or even more.

Scratch resistant and oleophobic laptop screens. Spill resistant keyboards. Designs that does not leave keyboard marks on the screen when the lid is closed.

Stand alone magic keyboard III with Touch Bar and backlight.

I remember when my Apple products used to “just work”. I want that again. They’re immensely capable and sometimes magical (I wonder what 2010 me would think about TV, HomePod, and Watch) but I feel like they don’t work and integrate as smoothly as they used to, and that’s a software issue.

I agree wholeheartedly...it all just worked! I mean to turn an iPhone off used to take pressing and holding the power button until the "slide to power off" screen was displayed. Now you need a combination of up/down volume then the power button...and then wait for the "slide to power off" option is displayed.

I remember an elderly neighbor who received an iPhone 4 as a gift and I helped her with getting to know how to use it. With the new software/options/whatever, it would be too complicated.

They need to just work again!

Quite frankly i am loosing hope from Apple, They make new software and abandon old software that actually worked, the new one lacks features, tons of secret techniques hidden in previous versions are all abandoned and the new one dont have those features anywhere hidden on not. Apple software used to be marvelous with hidden gems that could do a lot, the modern software by Apple is slow and does not inspire people. Really they produce Junk these days, i hope they bring back some vetaran Apple Software architect who had the vision to build great software in Steve Time. Tim is awesome but really i dont think he uses the software that apple builds at all.

I'd like to see:
  • Focus on software on all platforms. 2019 in my opinion was a bit rough.
  • Opening up iOS / macOS to allow 3rd party apps to be the default for actions i.e., Mail and Calendars. iOS 13 was a disaster for Mail and it forced me to try out 3rd parties. The experience was far better on macOS as I could change the default mail client.
  • More HomePod options / functionality. Opening up HomePod to 3rd parties is what will push it to the next level as well as offering cheaper options.

Bring back the days of not needing documentation to figure out Apple hardware and software. We are probably past that point. One might just as well wish for a resurgence of big band music. Not that that would be a bad thing.

Services, like MacOS in the cloud or like Stadia. That would finally end the discusion if iPad pro really is a laptop replacement or not :)

A consumer grade desktop Mac made from actual desktop hardware with a couple of PCIe slots for video cards, and NVMe/SATA/DIMM slots.

Or an Apple-approved ATX motherboard to let me spec out all my own hardware. A nice PC motherboard is about $150...I'd easily go $500 or more for something similar officially from Apple.

Even replace the mac mini with an Apple version of the Intel NUC kit. It wouldn't be as good as the first two options here, but I'd buy it on launch day anyway.

Yeah, not holding my breath.

I want to see them come to their senses and bring back 32-bit app support.
That and they should try to do something about the slippery-slope that is the subscription business model. I'm getting really tired of having to rent software. The fact that I can't continue to use software that I paid for and am now being forced to pay rent on it makes me not want to buy a new machine or upgrade to the latest OS.

AirPod Pro in black or space gray, the rumored over the ear headphones with ANC Apple is working on and a redesigned iPhone 12 Pro with no notch or a smaller notch. Long shot - redesigned iPad mini.

I'll throw in a vote for a 4" iPhone.

.....That’s called the SE (Which is actually still sold through some carriers) and pretty sure Apple made it evident the 4” design isn’t coming back with the recent discontinuation in light of what is coming in late first quarter/fall period.
