In our What to Expect article that we shared yesterday, we covered everything that we're expecting to see from Apple based on current product rumors and historical release data.

New iPhones with 5G, OLED displays, and upgraded 3D triple-lens camera system with significant augmented reality improvements are in the works, Apple is working on updated Macs and iPads, and AirTags, an innovative new accessory for tracking lost devices, is on the horizon.

We could also see a lower-cost HomePod, new over-ear headphones, and there could perhaps be some surprises in store like an augmented reality headset or an ARM-based Mac, but those aren't sure bets for 2020 at this time. There are also some outlandish rumors, like folding iPhones and iPads, plus rumors about the Apple Car, virtual reality headsets, and other far off products continue to circulate.

We want to hear from the MacRumors community. What are you hoping to see Apple release in 2020?

Are there new features you're hoping Apple will bring in iOS 14 or macOS 10.16? New headphones? Updated Mac features? New additions to the iPhone lineup?

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and make sure to check out our What to Expect article for a look at the current rumors. We'll learn more about Apple's 2020 product plans in the early months of the year, and as always, we'll be covering all Apple rumors in-depth here at MacRumors.

Our MacRumors forums are also a useful resource for discussing upcoming products and rumors, and with so many new products rumored for 2020, our forums are the place to be for discussions on what's coming.

Thank you to all of our readers and our forum members for making MacRumors the number one site for Apple news, rumors, and advice on the web. We wouldn't be here without you, and we look forward to another year of rumors in 2020. Happy New Year!

Apple Pay (Pay) working with credit and debit cards issued in Mexico. It’s about time Apple does it, after nearly six years since Apple Pay (Pay) first launched in the USA.

  1. A MacBook with approximately the size as the current 13" format, but as close to 14" screen by decreasing the bezels.
  2. Scissor keyboard.
  3. Option for with or without Touchbar - Apple might then find out how many actually want it, especially if it costs more.
  4. Option of increasing RAM and SSD drive capacity after purchase (even if it must be by a shop/Apple store) and even if that means a slightly thicker machine.
  5. Option for cellular connection. If it is possible in an iPad why not a MacBook?
  6. More ports is not a realistic request (like the return of MagSafe) but why not at least an SD card slot for what is still the standard storage system for digital cameras?

  1. MacBook Air with scissors keyboard
  2. Improvements to iCloud storage for multiple users
    1. Combined Photos so we can see each other’s pix
    2. Shared folders
  3. Upgradeable iMac, for memory and disk. I prefer the 21.5” form factor but would like

  4. Better software testing and slower OS releases. Make sure “it just works”

What I want is an Apple version of the Amazon Fire TV Recast.

Perhaps a new version of the Apple TV that lets me integrate OTA recordings from an Antenna. I love the idea. Don't want a Fire TV device just for that.

I've been a 20 year TiVo customer (almost from the start), and some of their recent decisions have been infuriating. However, if Apple did the "Recast" thing with the Apple TV itself, I'd gladly think about moving platforms for my OTA recordings.

1) A 4" premium-priced iPhone with TouchID
2) A MacBook Pro with MagSafe, SD card slot, HDMI port, and NO touch bar.
3) Heavier, thicker, longer-battery-life EVERYTHING.

Push harder for Homekit support and #1: a real AppleTV remote that doesn't stink. It's too small. Impossible to tell which end is up in the dark. Fast forward and reverse are not reliable. But more important than all else....a bloody MUTE Botton!!!

Macs that are built in the U.S. and are built like they used to be.
Software updates that improve things, not make them worse.
Stop with the political and social crap and just concentrate on their business.
Stop being so arrogant. Apple is turning off as many people as they turn on.
Making it easier for developers to make useful extensions like adblockers.
A muzzle for Tim Cook.

Need a new Apple TV but debating if I want to hold out for a spring launch.
Anytime I wait for an Apple launch I seem to get burned - Like the endless rumours of a new iMac in 2018. Then finally in 2019 they update it.

Reliable software. I remember back in the day when everything seamlessly worked and now it’s just mediocre software and /yawn products. AirPods Pro are a proof that Apple’s still capable of great products. Hopefully, the 2020 iPhones are going to have at least a new design.

I just want reliable software that works. Just my opinion, but there doesn't need to be more hardware, just for the sake making them. Remember when Apple's hardware could fit all on a single table? It was focused, made with intentionality, not just to make another buck.

Probably not a popular request here, but I wish Apple would help support ios devices that aren't brand spanking new. I wish they'd be more transparent about what various ios upgrades will negatively impact older devices. Sometimes they are true improvements, but I always seem to allow one upgrade too many and the usability of the phone degrades. Having a easy way for simpletons like me to revert back to an earlier ios would be super.

Improved Keynote with better animation features, especially a timeline like in FCPX.

improved iBooks Author.

Bring back Aperture.

Apple made mesh router

Better software quality.

Apple should hold a Users Conference similar to the Developers Conference. Three or four days where passionate users could meet and ask question of Apple Engineers about using Apple products. We’d get a ton of details published after the conference. Apple would get a ton of good feedback.

World Peace.

Happy New Years one and all.

I wish they would stop wrapping items in plastic and also that you could opt not to have chargers and leads with your item to save money and also waste, if you already have ones from previous phone or whatever.

Love to see further advancements in Apple TV. Gaming to be specific. Kids would love more game devs dropping real games like Fortnite. I refuse to buy a console.

Split screen apps, pencil support and more optical zoom for the iPhone.

Sleep tracking for the Apple Watch

Improvements to Siri and the HomePod-One specific request is the be able to have the HomePod play TV shows on my Apple TV via voice commands.

I’d like to see either full and first party Vulkan support or a port of Metal to Windows and Linux. The latter is preferred, but will basically never happen. The former is possible with enough pressure from developers.

Basically, all I’m asking is for Apple to realize that their competitor’s customer is also their own customer. So by not playing nice, everyone loses. Just play nice, Apple, so we can get a better experience.
