I want a 15" Mac laptop for under $1000.

I want Apple to invest in the Proton compatibility layer so that we can play Windows games on a Mac.

1) NO SOFTWARE BUGS AND ERRORS - 2021 was painful. Let's not have a repeat. Apple has been forgetting to cross its 't's" and dot its "i's" of late.

2) HOMEPODS MAX - How about a return to greatness for Apple's audio category? Better advertising and lower price this time. Take a temporary loss and aim for market share, or more feature-rich to justify the price (screen? Apple TV combo?). A HomePod Soundbar would also be wonderful.

3) TELEVISION - It's a pipe dream, I know; but I always felt like Apple could become a master of this category. Prices for quality televisions are dropping; Apple could create a very exclusive set at a higher price point and set a new standard (The Bose TVs from a few years ago come to mind).
I'd like to see an Apple TV+ button added to all the remotes that come with new TV's. It seems all the remotes have buttons for Netflix, Hulu, etc. Try explaining toggling between inputs to senior citizens and you'll understand what I mean.

27” or larger stand alone monitors (at no more than $1,000)
faceID on the mac
and like a lot of other people have said, better quality control on the software side

interested in seeing what apple offers with its VR headset, but only if it’s $1,000 or less

Add Myfitnesspal meal/calorie tracking to Apple Fitness. Right now, Apple is all about calories out. Needs to work on calories in.

I want Apple to design a laptop for MY exact use case, with all of the ports and specs I want and need for my particular workflow. And if they don't, Apple sucks, Tim Cook is a bean counter, etc.

Well, you asked, but my request are completely unrealistic:

1) Treat the people who labor for them better. I say labor because most people who labor for Apple are not employed by them. One step in treating the people who labor for them better would be to *employ* them directly.

2) A notebook computer with USB-A.

3) An OS worthy of being called "the world's most advanced desktop operating system." Those were the exact words used on the OS X Public Beta I paid $29.95 for 20 years ago. It said, "Thank you for helping us create the world's most advanced desktop operating system."

Well lord knows I have tried helping them. With the advent of Yosemite, I created a developer account even though I know nothing about coding in order to submit bug reports. Yosemite was a release where my Mac would completely crash if it switched WiFi hot spots while screen sharing was enabled. An Apple engineer sent me terminal code to fix it. That was the beginning of having to "baby sit" Mac OS. For me, Mavericks was the last good release. Disk Utility, Image Capture, and networking have been terrible or unusable for me since then.

I would be content if they just released a new Mac that could run Mavericks (and had a USB-A port). Not to mention Mavericks is much more legible.

11” iPad Pro with mini-LED or OLED, preferably with a new M2 processor (for the improved efficiency core performance)

An Apple “TV” or “soundbar” the combined the TV, stereo HomePods, and Center Stage camera.

I will buy these two things on day 1 if released. Nothing else really interests me. Ok, a fanless desktop. But I don’t see Apple ever doing that.

I will be happy with a pro/max mini computer so can consolidate to 1 max from a 2018 mini and an iMac 2019 hack equivalent.

Would not mind a 9.7” iPad Pro to replace original iPad Pro that have.

Fits great in inside pockets of some fleeces.

A focus on returning to the, “it just works” mentality of software/hardware unity.

Monitors that give mobile devices 27”+ screen real estate when home.

Less buggy software, more focus on Homekit and HK products, reasonably priced iMacs.

Yeah I’m either dreaming … or still drinking from New Year’s Eve…

Apple Mail: Bring NEW features to Apple Mail. Nearly everybody depends on Apple Mail, yet it goes unchanged year after year. Makes me long for Eudora!

Things I'd love to see:

- Finally add wi-fi 6e to devices - they are at least a year behind on this and it's horrible
- make storage and ram upgrades more affordable. +$400 to move to 32gb of RAM or 2tb is just beyond greedy
- release standalone monitors
- would be cool to see some kind of NAS/time machine type device tied into other products (apple TV or a router, etc)
- 2.5Gbps to 10Gbps ethernet on devices
- cellular on macbooks
- make the notch DO something on macbooks! face id or other. Right now the notch is just a glaring pointless cutout on my screen.
- high accuracy GPS on iPhones. The current GPS quality is absolutely garbage on iPhones compared to Android because they don't use any dual frequency chips out of cheapness. See here: https://medium.com/@importanttech/w...nd-found-some-surprising-results-b9ec35873e2e - I don't care about having one foot accuracy or anything, but really want improved multipath handling in urban environments.

Software/service improvements:
- Make iCloud more affordable - it's just too much to pay $10/mo if you have more than 200gb which at this point is only like 2 phones worth of photos or less.
- Fix iOS and MacOS to show more statuses on long syncs. The whole Apple pattern of showing you NOTHING while things are syncing is frustrating. Show me what % is done and if any errors happened, even if you have to hide it behind an advanced menu somewhere

Mac mini M1 Pro Max with 32GB or 64GB memory. But also able to use an EGPU Box.

ALSO

32 and 64 Core Threadripper Mac Pro.

In our What to Expect guide that we shared yesterday, we went over everything that we're expecting to see from Apple in 2022 based on current product rumors and historical release data.

What-You-Want-Apple-2022.jpg

New iPhone 14 models with a hole punch camera and no notch are a possibility, plus we could see more powerful Apple silicon iMacs and Mac minis. The second-generation AirPods Pro are coming, and there's a significantly redesigned MacBook Air on the horizon. Rumors also suggest that 2022 is the year that we could see Apple's first dedicated AR/VR product with the launch of a mixed reality headset expected to cost upwards of $3000.

We know what we think we're going to see from Apple in 2022, but we want to hear from the MacRumors community. What do you want to see Apple release this year?

Are there new features you're hoping to see in iOS 16 or macOS 13? New iPhone features? What do you hope to get out of Apple's AR/VR headset?

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and take a look at our What to Expect guide for a look at all of the current rumors. We'll learn more about Apple's 2022 product plans during the early months of the year, and as usual, we'll have in-depth coverage of all rumors here at MacRumors.com.

Our MacRumors forums also serve as an excellent resource and community for discussing upcoming products and rumors, and with a new product category and some exciting iPhone changes planned for 2022, or forums are the place to be for all Apple-related discussions.

Thank you to our readers and our forum members for making MacRumors the number one site for Apple news, rumors, and advice on the web. MacRumors celebrated its 21st birthday this year, and that's all thanks to our dedicated readers. We look forward to another year of rumors in 2022. Happy New Year!

I want to see more customization options when buying computers and devices online. At the moment, it is only the amount of RAM and SSD storage that can be customized. I want to see more options for ports, for example. Everyone has their own use cases for computers and devices and it is impossible to please everyone with only one or two options. For example, I do not have a desktop computer at home, I use a MacBook Pro on my desk. When at my desk I like to connect my computer directly to my network router because I get much faster and more stable speeds. I want an Ethernet port built into my computer so I do not have to use adapters or dongles. The Ethernet cable has a nice latch on it that holds the RJ-45 connector firmly in place when connected, which adapters and dongles do not have. I want a physical Ethernet port. Also, the newer keyboards do not feature as much key travel as the older models. This does not work for everyone. Some people may enjoy the new keyboards while others prefer the older designs, and customers should be able to choose what they want.

As I said before, each person has their own preference, and not everyone wants an Ethernet port or a particular kind of keyboard. These should be able to be customized at the time of purchase, where people who want an Ethernet port or certain keyboard can have one, and people who do not want an Ethernet port or particular keyboard can choose another option. Customization would allow people to be able to build their computers and devices to order in a way that makes them more satisfied. I am not asking for anything to be taken away. I am asking for Apple to allow us to have more choice as to what options we can choose when buying computers and devices.
