1) A groundbreaking update to iOS/iPadOS that really makes a difference, and incorporates AI in huge breakthrough ways.

2) New updated iPad Pros that incorporate physical redesigns.

3) An update to a new Beats Fit Pro 2 to include the functionality from the AirPods Pro 2.

4) A redesigned Apple Watch Series 10 and updates to the Ultra that incorporate AI based coaching, recovery metrics, and built in trail, running, and bike turn by turn mapping. Any new health sensors would be a bonus.

5 Gb cloud storage is evil.
I agree. It is evil. And you can start with your "but google and Microsoft sell your data so you're the product" etc but still. 5GB isn't a lot at all.
15GB would be ok.

Also the storage options are quite silly.
50GB, 200GB and then 2TB… I personally would need 500GB for example.

I would like to see improved software quality and an intense focus on Mac gaming.
A few years back at macWorld Moscone Center, you encountered Gaming companies showing off their games in the same room you had a lot of smaller developers and the Mac audio/musicians. That ceased in 2014. One could say Apple being more recluse and overly focused on promoting only the iPhone compared to anything else is at fault until very recently.

Even now Apple use of just the App Store to promote or explore what software is available on all its devices is poor. MS constantly advertises various software it wants people to use. Apple doesn't do that. It assumes you just use their devices to do either casual usage or business usage.

When is the last time you see random ads for Apple software or 3rd party software on their web site? They have substituted that by promoting their services on their web site.

If you want info on what Final Cut Pro offers you need to search for that and it comes up with an App Store very limited description of the software. see https://apps.apple.com/us/app/final-cut-pro/id424389933.

Yes Apple needs to fix all of this in 2024 if we want to get back to discovering software that developers write but is unknown to a lot of consumers. The same is true who want to sell games via the App Store if you can't link the developers URLs to at least do a decent explanation of an entertainment software? I almost want to say I dislike the way Apple is so lazy using the App Store to hide everything that should be on their web site. ;)

just m3 Mac studios. I need an apple silicon Mac from intel. vision pro waste of time and money.

especially when the economy tail spins because of all the illegal immigration.

I’d like to see the Apple Network. A social network that copies what Facebook was to begin with, a way to share photos and status updates with friends. No reels. No adverts. No influencers. None of the stuff that has ruined social media.

Tim Cook gone.... I really wish he would retire.

If there was ever someone who was focused just on how can we make things cheaper and get people to climb the product ladder, it was him. Lets let our computers languish until half our customers leave until we can launch our own chips, instead of hey lets keep up in the meantime. Hey look, these keyboards keep failing, lets keep trying to make it work. Hey, lets not license patents...to the point we need to pull our products off of shelves. I know, lets keep including 8GB of ram on our e-waste, it will make us look cheaper and force people to purchase a new machine sooner. Lets make our iPad line so hard to compare from one device to another. How about we reinvent ourselves like GE did into a financial services company. Lets pour millions (billions?) into something we aren't even remotely connected to and isn't in our wheelhouse (literally), lets build a car. Oh yeah, bugs? We don't need to fix no stinking bugs... give them more emojis.
Complete nonsense. Apple would not exist without Tim Cook. It is Tim Cook — not Steve Jobs, Jony Ive, Phil Schiller, Joswiak, or other notable members of the Apple team — who built the operations and logistics foundation that allowed good artists to design and ship great products and do so at scale. It is under Tim Cook’s leadership that Apple became the world’s first Trillion dollar company. But thanks for validating Apple‘s inspired decision to give us that shaking head emoji.🫨

My prediction is a new HomePod/Homepod mini, not with a built it screen as rumoured, but with a MagSafe dock attached.

Why would they make a device that is more expensive due to adding a screen that needs to be of high enough quality to meet apples standards, that is impractical to use for the majority of the time and defies the purpose of a voice controlled device? You would only want to make the most of a screen on a HomePod in certain circumstances that would align with having your iPhone on the new standby, sideways alignment mode.

It would:
- Be an phone charger
- Potentially also be an iPad charger when they release MagSafe for iPad
- extend the UI of the homePod
- could help with relentless connection issues that the HomePod always has
- Perfect for kitchens and desks, revamping the product to sell more devices

Disagree, Apple would not exist without Steve Jobs.

Under Tim Cook the future of Apple is a subscription / financial company with utilitarian hardware. Time for some flair and beautiful industrial design that finds new functions. Plenty of people at Apple to handle the financial end.

We need vision…

Don't want an Apple Car, or an Apple TV set. Don't want incremental upgrades to stuff Apple is already making. Kind of want a new iPhone SE with USB-C. But most of all, I'd like to see Apple produce something brand new, something I have no need for but absolutely have to have because it's "insanely great", something like a mid-to-high end home stereo system. It's a natural, given Jobs and Apple's history and commitment to music.

Actual focus on usability in design. There has been a horrible trend for years now of making interface elements worse. Hiding useful things like information and buttons, changing things for change sake and losing the thoughtfulness that went into the old design.

Alan Dye has clearly been stuck on the Vision Pro for years and it has been to the detriment of every other platform.

Stop re-aligning everything around Vision to the detriment of everything else.

Open up that Human Interface Guide book and actually read it and use it.

And spend some time polishing existing features. Stop this upgrade death march that’s just making things buggier and harder to use.

Get some actual vision back in the leadership.

As an aside:

I couriered a letter to Tim Cook about Apple starting the restriction that artists could not change their stage or band name and change it in their previously released songs. Because of this (mostly just as convenience to the corporations that handle the music) this is being copied by other streaming services. Artists no longer have control over their music that they had before.

Rant over (I’m not a Tim Cook fan in so many ways…).

Cut Cook some slack, man. He's made countless Apple believers rich, or at least affluent (like my family). Visionaries like Jobs don't grow on trees (we were lucky to live in his era), and Cook was his personal choice to pick up the reins.

And what of the end user i.e. - the consumer? The products have become boring and dull. It’s time to see some new vision in 2024 because it will take years to make the new changes happen.

He did his thing and as I said before it wasn’t all bad - but his time has come to move on.

I will add my voice to the others that want Tim Cook to retire. He grew the company after Jobs and for that he will be remembered. Also the Apple Watch was his baby and legacy.

But who to replace him?

Jony Ive
No, Jony's former colleagues are coming to him.
Last I read, it's now more then 20 that have left Apple for LoveFrom

But that is how you do it.

Leaves and then comes back to take the top job with the talent in tow. This happens all the time. One of the inner circle has clashes over the future of the company. Leaves on relatively good terms and comes back when the head man departs.

We pretty much know what to expect it seems, and there may not be any major product overhauls, but I'd like to see at least one cool new design: a multi-device charger, premium HomePod, monitor, whatever, but something clever with "Apple" touches that give me confidence in the new design team.
Apple probably thinks they are doing that with products like the USB-C Pencil, but I feel what you’re asking for is really more a thing of the past.

I know what I would have wanted for 2023 - strong integration of LLMs (like ChatGPT/MS Copilot) in all of its products. That they didn't provide Xcode with a Copilot is completely dropping the ball.

For 2024 - something better than it's competitors for the items mentioned above.

If they’re not giving us a TV set, then let’s see a quality soundbar with Apple TV bult-in. Then all we need is a quality TV and this soundbar with no other devices to hide or connect. Maybe supporting a couple of HomePod minis as rear speakers.
