New lighter AirPods Max with a proper case, H2, USB-C, etc. iPad mini without the jelly scrolling, A18, etc. iPhone 16 Pro with a different looking camera cluster so the phone doesn’t look like the last several generations. New redesigned Apple Watch like the rumors are hinting at.

A 5.8” iPhone with rounded edges. Basically bring back the X/XS/11 Pro form factor. It was the perfect size, IMO.

I wish is this what the SE4 would be. I would sell my 14 Pro immediately.

  1. Apple needs to make an aluminum iPhone Pro. I picked up the iPhones at the local Apple Store a couple days ago, and I thought the iPhone 15 Plus was a miracle! It was so large, and yet didn't feel heavy! The only problems with it was no Pro Motion screen, no Action Button, and no telephoto camera. Well, Apple just needs to "upgrade" their iPhone 15 Pro Max to aluminum and have all of the Pro benefits with none of the weight!

  2. Apple needs to add right-side I/O to the MacBook Air. I'm mostly impressed with the M2 MacBook Air, but it could do with at least a single USB-C port on the right. MacBook Airs used to have USB-A on the right side, but no longer.

2. Move all accessories to USB C
Bring back Lightning more like it.
I just had to buy ANOTHER USB c cord. It's so annoying that i have all these lighting cables and never had an issue (Some are Apple and others are 3rd party) but USB C....issues galore.
This one just stopped charging altogether (I tried several phones)

- iCloud improvements. 5GB at the free tier is a joke at this point.
Absolutely. 5GB free tier and the lowest paid tier are both ridiculous in 2024.

- Better repairability for devices. I know Apple is slowly getting it, but I want them to get there faster
For years products have been designed purposefully to oppose repairability, which has always run counter to Apple's evidently false claims to care about the environment.

You 2 must not be macOS users then due to its poor security, what with the ability to sideload install software from anywhere you can download
I think they’re just some sheep who read it in some boomer magazine. But you’re correct, macOS is one of the most insecure OS on this planet, due to the feature to install (own) software.

Burn anything that still uses Lightning by the end of the week and drop the anticompetitive nonsense.
But if you check some old threads we learnt that USB C is worse than 15yrs old Lightning and that its communism to tell Apple to use USB C 🙃

@iHorseHead Just Google a tutorial on how to get Turkish iCloud Family storage. That’s how I did it and I am using it together (without AppleID switching) with my Swiss one. It cost you roughly 2€ (USD$ ~ 2.20) per month for the highest tier, think it was 2TB

Simple.

For iMac and MacBook Airs, given their price points, the base specs should be 12/512 or 16/512. That small move would temper some of the criticism regarding their upgrade prices. If they did that without raising the base prices it would be a killer move.

Tier 1 = 16/512
Tier 2 = 16/1TB
Tier 3 = 24/1TB

or

Tier 1 = 16/512
Tier 2 = 24/1TB
Absolutely agree. As cheap as RAM and storage are, it's clear price gouging when it's combined with deliberately engineering the devices to prevent upgrading. 16/512 should be base specs for Air/little iMac/Mini and 18/1tb should be base for the cheapest Pro.

I don't think any sane Apple buyers (that aren't also shareholders) are happy with the 1,000% markup we're forced to pay on the prices Apple pay for RAM and storage.

Bring back Airport.
They ditched it because Apple had considerable competition for wireless routers. Also because Apple purposely tried to make their routers crippled as far as their feature set. Examples:
  • The AirPort Extreme that couldn't be used a wireless bridge or WiFI extension router.
  • The AirPort Express only offered 802.11n even though the Airport Extreme was utilizing 802.11ac?
If you want something decent, skip Mesh and go with a good more powerful wireless standalone router. There are some that work up to a 5000 sq ft house.

Reasonably-priced RAM upgrades and/or 16 GB starting RAM. (Unlikely to happen under Apple's current leadership with Tim Cook which is notorious for being stupidly greedy with RAM and storage).

Disagree, Apple would not exist without Steve Jobs.

Under Tim Cook the future of Apple is a subscription / financial company with utilitarian hardware. Time for some flair and beautiful industrial design that finds new functions. Plenty of people at Apple to handle the financial end.

We need vision

And what of the end user i.e. - the consumer? The products have become boring and dull. It’s time to see some new vision in 2024 because it will take years to make the new changes happen.

He did his thing and as I said before it wasn’t all bad - but his time has come to move on.

Yes, if it was up to Steve he would have probably got rid of all ports on the macbook Pro by now… cause airdrop and icloud. /s

Would LOVE for them to eventually fix the podcast app that keeps turning back ON the continuous play switch in the Settings. EVERY. DAMN. DAY.
yes. yes. i said yes.

im not much for conspiracy theories, but, im beginning to think that apple refusing to fix this is simply because there are millions of people in the world who fall asleep while listening to a podcast, and leaving this unfixed must be increasing the data about how many podcasts are played giving the apple podcast platform some uplift.

and while they are at it, they need to fix the suspicious differences there are in how responsive the fast forward button is for some podcasts and how it frequently resets to just 15 seconds fast forward instead of something like the 60 seconds that i need to set too frequently.
