I'd like something akin to iMovie/GarageBand but for the maker space.

A CAD app that can be used for knocking out 3D prints in the way the other iWork-type apps make it possible to generate print/media content.

It would be great if it could seamlessly incorporate your phone's camera/lidar to import data.

They don't even have to start from scratch, using something like Shapr3D as a start would be good - but none of that monthly subscription nonsense. You can do all this now, but it requires bouncing between a handful of apps, and some are only available at the hobbyist level if you don't make money. Something that was useful for the hobbyist or small business maker would be great.

i am looking forward to the rumoured new keyboard for iPads.

i want this keyboard to be as rumored: providing a more laptop kind of experience for an iPad.

then, along with this keyboard, i need apple to up its game to make the iPad into a more trackpad friendly place.

for my work and lifestyle, i need the iPad to be much much more keyboard and trackpad friendly. i want the iOS ecosystem to become more powerful and more useful to more types of users.

there's a reason why for the first time in iPad history there was not even one new iPad in 2023: apple has allowed the iPad to languish on the level of an art/creative device and media consumption device.

✏️ Apple Pencil for iPhone Pro Max.

doubt this would ever happen as they probably want to get ppl to get iPads. I remember like 10+ years ago, an industrial designer friend of mine jumped ship to android and one of main reasons was inability to use a pencil with iPhone....so sad.

Id like to see the ability to have some apps be locked to different orientations, for example camera app unlocked so can constantly take pics/film in landscape mode but keep safari locked in portrait mode so that when I switch back to safari I don't have to tilt the phone it can just stay vertical screen. sounds simple but would be a huge QOL improvement IMO.

Also, in phone app would love to be able to delete call history entries same way it's done in message app where can highlight whatever entries I want and hit delete to do it all at once instead of individually clicking the red button and delete for every entry. one of my jobs is being on phone and this would def. save some time...

I’d really like to see apple fix a few key things.

Top of the list is Siri and HomeKit. Every year Siri and HomeKit seem to become less and less reliable. It’s gotten really bad.

Next, iPhone speed. It’s crazy how slow the interactions between for camera settings are. I have a 15 pro and I often miss a shot because it takes so long to get the camera open and the correct mode selected. Almost worth bringing the DSLR back out.

- Some movement towards a post-Tim Cook Apple. The penny pinching and profit-over-product stuff is getting annoying. I get that Cook built Apple into the profitable behemoth it is today, but that often comes at the cost of the actual product. There’s no product-based reason that the iPad line should be so muddled, etc.
If Apple is a profitable behemoth it’s because they sell very good products. There is no ”profit at the cost of the actual product” because the more expensive the product is, the worse it will sell. We’re not their hostages. And based on results, it seems like people consider Apple’s value proposition per price under Cook is better than ever.

I absolute think there’s a product-based reason for the iPad line-up: I don’t care at all about the base iPad and iPad Air, but it makes sense to offer more price points.

I don’t think anyone would stop buying an iPad because their iPhone offers Apple Pencil compatibility, there’s no functional market overlap. However, as you explained, they’re probably losing sales to Android phones. So I think there are deeper, functional reasons why a pencil for the iPhone is a bad idea.

macOS remembering all my desktops for my dual monitor setup and placing the correct application windows in the correct spots before going to sleep.

What reasons might those be that iPhone pencil would be a bad idea?…pro max screens are a big enough playground, no?…real interested in your take on this.

Sent a white paper to Apple last year on something I call audio QR codes where your device is listening for some guard tunes that sound like music and are pleasant to the ear and your device will display them on the screen temporarily and record a history of links sent throughout the day similar to Shazam.
