i picked the wywern part because its a mythical creature and at the time iwas interested in this sort of stuff but now nobody is capable of relating me to it, so its a hard to guess username and the 209 because it is a special number for me. everybody guesses why i picked 209 but they never get it right.

My guess would be either - You drive a French car, or your are training to run in a marathon/have done in the past?

Just my name plus ZA which is the ISO country code for South Africa which is where I'm from originally.

I"d hate to say. I'd love to change my username. When I registered I had no idea I'd use the site as much as I do. It was a joke that now makes me a bit uncomfortable...

Used mine because it was my gamertag. It originally came from the nickname that my wife gave our fat male cat. He'll sit outside our refrigerator and whine incessantly. Or if he hears you open it, he'll come flying into the kitchen and try to jump in to find his food. Hence she called him the fridgey monster. So I just stuck it together cause its so easy to remember.

When I started my undergraduate studies, we had to choose our email alias. In high school, everyone called me by my last name, Gibbs. So I wanted to use Gibbs as my email alias, but alas, it was taken.

So, I substituted the s with a z, hence gibbz. It has just stuck when I join sites.

Got my name in 1998, my senior year in high school. At the time it embodied my goal for everything I did. I always wanted to be first. Now I find that kind of hokey, but oh well. I have no desire to come up with something new. I've used it wherever I can, including MR, since.

If you talk to a God (Wildcowboy, Doctor Q, et cetera), some people can get (likely just one) name change if they have some good reason for wanting it changed. There's a few people who've had it done.

Mine has two meanings..."Sehnsucht" is the title of the Rammstein song I was listening to when I just so happened to stumble on MacRumors while doing a Google search for "Mac stuff". :D Also, if you're familiar with German, "Sehnsucht" means something like "longing" or "yearning" but with a certain mysteriousness to it. (Wikipedia article if you're interested.) Now that I think of it, that's also sort of the feeling I used to get when I wanted a Mac very badly and saw someone else using theirs. Although sometimes it was more a feeling of "Eifersucht". (Ha ha!) :D :D

integrated Mac-using mathematician

While coming up with a username I considered "powermath" and "Macmatician."

made it up. Afterwards some struggling author used it in a few of her books and WB decided to turn that little book into a few indy flicks.

yeah i just chose my name - you're going to have ask my parents on why they chose it.

although being named after my dad is probably the reason. not too creative there :)

On that note, I was named after a random stranger was really nice to my mother while she was pregnant, especially when natives were still considered 'savage'. At least here anyway.

I'm just glad I wasn't named Leon.. No offense to anyone named Leon here.

I couldn't use my first choice, Trillium, and DD is what came up next.
Should have used my mental nic Stillwater, but too late.

Or maybe CashCow...
