Picked this name when I was a huge Ozzy fan, still am...but mainly listen to the old stuff. The 'man' and '500' just sounded cool.

Hey OP, you start a thread asking people to explain their screen name but don't explain yours? Good one.

I am a 1993 graduate of the University of Central Florida.

First name Gordon...used to work in a bank where I picked up the nickname Gordon Gekko. Started my own tech company years later (which I recently closed down) called Geckotek. Kept the name.

Mine is just my school email/username, easier to share it with everything than remember 100 different ones. Just wish they didn't have all these stupid rules on passwords so I could share that with all of those too.

Same here; I think I attended the last school to adopt an easier format for email and usernames.

If I remember correctly:

EL - first 2 letters of last name
MI - first 2 letters of first name
00 - the year your first term began, Sept 2000 for me
01 - the year your first term ended, May 2001 for me

That's easier than firstname.lastname right?

not sure how that's easier, unless you're kidding.

Mine came from my workplace. We all like the movie Malibu's Most Wanted and when I started they found out my name is Brad and Middle intial is G so therefore b rad g.

Mine is the first initial of my first name 'Nick' and my last name. I like to keep it simple.

In botany, a pome (after the Latin word for fruit: pōmum) is a type of fruit produced by flowering plants in the subfamily Maloideae of the family Rosaceae. The best-known example of a pome is the apple.

: destitute of : not having <witless> <childless>

When I joined the Forum I did not have an iPhone. Although I did have other Apple productions so it is technically and inaccurate username.

Ha, wow, this takes me back.

I've had this username for a long, long time (back to the old BBS days).

It came from UL (a god in a fantasy series by David Eddings) and a hack of Darth Vader. Wow, I was a nerd. It is nice because it is pretty unique.

First and middle initial and my last name,
I'd like to change it to something that wasn't quite as easy to identify with me in real life, but I don't think there are too many people I know that visit here, and I don't think there is any way to change it.

Mine is the name people tend to call me when they're pissed off at me.
Oh, and there I was imagining…
