Uncharted 4. So many games have great gameplay and compelling features that make the game unique. But with most games lack a true story line. And the Uncharted series actually retained the storyline throughout the Series and with Uncharted 4, it was a brilliantly told story that drives the gamer to want to know more and the ending was awesome.

And that's why the Last of Us Remastered was another excellently told story as well. Naughty dog, the developer behind these two games, truly knows what they are doing with tying the gamer in with the characters and the gameplay.

I felt so behind the times since I hadn't played a video game in years. Came across PS4 Slim package with Unchartered 4 and couldn't pass it up. The storyline throughout the entire series has been fantastic. I was immediately sucked in from the first time I played the game way back when.

Finished Ryse Son of Rome last night. It was okay for a free GwG game. Felt like a Batman Arkham game with its combat with a Gladiator rip-off for its story. Could do with a sequel to flesh it out more but I haven't read about any chances for one.

Started replaying Dark Souls 2 SotFS last night also. Was getting late and I started dozing off during the character creation portion so I shut it off at the first bonfire. Dark Souls is not a game you want to play when you're tired!
I should be able to get through the Forest of Fallen Giants area tonight though.

Started playing Bloodborne today. Died like 10 times in the first hour. My God how can this game be this difficult? I hate games that I get stuck on. I don't enjoy them. I don't see myself finishing this game, although the setting and all looks amazing! It could have been much better if it had better controls and not so difficult IMO.

I started off the same way. 18 months later I got platinum on it. :D. Stick with it, to me the experience was unparalleled. Take your time, get some help on the web, cause the game won't offer any! :p Getting to that first shortcut is hard if you don't know where to go. If you're stuck, ask us, we'll help you! :)

I'm still playing it and I've been at it since the start. I am crap at it and not sure I'm getting any better, but I do get a little bit further each time I have a go. Same with Dark Souls 3.

Yeah, I'll definitely need help The game looks so cool that it would be a shame to leave it uncompleted, but man, I thought 'Alien Isolation' was hard, but as hard as this one!

I'll definitely check some gameplay on YouTube when I get too stuck. Everything on this game can kill you so fast!

I'm sure I'll take a long looooong time to finish this one, but I'll keep trying. It just would have been a better game IMO if it wasn't that hard so that people could enjoy it more. Some will enjoy the difficulty, but not me. I don't like to get stuck too often on the same game.

I picked up the Bioshock collection on amazon - nice price. I spent about an hour maybe two playing BioShock I. I'm not hugely pulled into the game yet, that may happen later. It does look great on the PS4, and visually stunning. I'll probably spend a little more time playing it sometime this weekend.

Hey! Pikmin (3DS) Demo: A bit of a disappointment. It is only a 2D game (no 3D on a 3DS) and the "2D platform style" of Pikmin seems a bit repetitive. I guess the fact you can go anywhere on the regular Pikmin games is part of the attraction. Gonna buy the game used or on sale for around $20... glad for the demo.

Just downloaded Implosion (Switch). Wish there was a demo for this one but all the Youtube vids make it look pretty good (was only $12 anyways).

EDIT: Implosion (the little I've played) is a lot of fun. Beautiful graphics, great artwork, engaging story...

Splatoon 2 preview starts soon... :)

Has anyone played Death Square?

I've been playing bioshock 1 and I've been underwhelmed. The game play is largely identical - Moving room to room killing the splicers until you get to your destination. I'm in Arcadia, so there's plenty of game left but it's getting boring

Making some decent progress in Dark Souls 2 SotFS. I cleared the Lost Bastille and Ruin Sentinels boss fight last night. I feel kinda stupid though - the first time I beat this game on 360 I didn't have XBL Gold so I never bothered with using human effigies. I died A LOT of times trying to get past the 1v3 Ruin Sentinel boss fight. Seeing how I have Gold now I used an effigy last night to try and get a summon or two. No luck getting a human summon but really wished I had known there were 2 NPC summons right by the boss door. I beat the Sentinels first try this time so it's all good.

Zelda & Splatoon 2 on Switch
Persona 5 & Dark Souls 3 on PS4

Are my current games I am playing ...

(Revisiting shadow of mordor for recent nemesis mode in prep for shadow of war).

10 hours into Persona 5. It's great.

Also made some great progress on Dark Souls 3, finishing the abyss watchers and catacombs of carthus (high lord wolnir) boss.

So a year of playing and still inching my way through.

Resident evil 6 (shudders) with a mate in co-op. We did 5 for the third time again recently (PS3' 360 and now PS4) we love it that much ha, so opted to try 6 even though we both hated it when it first came out. We didn't co-op it first time round though so thought it might help us get through it. It has helped, but we're struggling haha. It's ****.

Batman telltale and Tekken 7 alternating on PS4.
Also picked up Yooka-Laylee for cheap on PS4 to play again (completed it on One) but will wait for the upcoming patch before playing that as it looks like it will fix all of the problems I had with the game when I played it on release. And there were problems aplenty.

Never played Splatoon on Wii U and was hopeful for Splatoon 2, but played both the splat fest and event last weekend and hated every second of both.
The first big Nintendo release for Switch I've not bought into.

Thankfully I've got other games to keep me busy!

Did you ever finish Bloodborne? ;)

I need to pick up DS3 again, starting to feel that itch. Still busy stealthing my way through Dishonored 2 though. Going for a "Ghost" and "Clean Hands" playthrough!

You would love DS3.

Nope not finished Bloodborne, I will get there one day lol

Well, I finished this a couple of days ago... but now I'm trying to do some of the optional stuff. The Great Crystal is a dog and some of the best spells are hiding in there :(

You manage to finish games in a matter of couple of weeks that take me a couple of years to get through. I must be really terrible.

Oh I also just polished off Until Dawn as it was free on Plus. Loved every second of it.

One of my faves this year I love games like that!

I enjoyed it, but had no compulsion to reply to try and save the couple of the characters who died on my play-through. You know the ending / twist is the same, and the characters are so stereotypical and outside of central protagonist - utterly un-likable, i just didn't care they were killed off ....

You still have a long way to go o_O;)

I finished the scorpioness boss fight last night in DS2. Looks like I'm maybe 1/3 of the way through now..... not counting the DLCs... I'm not having too hard of a time with the game. Some of the enemy placement changes in the SotFS version seem to make the areas a little easier? Like in the Shaded Ruins area there are only really 2 of those transparent guys you need to take out on the way to the boss fight. Unlike in the 360 version I remember at least a couple of those lion guys with axes in the way, much harder to kill them.

Yeah to be fair I didn't like any of them either. I got all the endings as I platinumed it and getting all the collectables really helped flesh the story out a bit for me and made it much more enjoyable.

My mate is playing through it at the minute. Texting him about it before. Moaning he hasn't unlocked many trophies so 'must be making the wrong decisions to unlock them' haha. He was moaning about Emily too who was a right whiney b*tch to be fair, so I said for an easy trophy just do what you need to do later in the game with Emily if she pisses you off as much as she did me. :p (basically shoot her in the face lol).

I'm interested in trying this other game the same company are making that utlisies PlayStation's phone link thing where users play with their mobile. Apparently it's a similar narrative with decision based gameplay that affects story. I cant wait.

Well it helps that I knew where to go and what to do from playing the PS2 versions - I didn't check my play time when completing this one (and New Game+ resets the timer) but I think it was around 30-40 hours, vs closer to 80 my first time around the PS2 version.

I'm not sure whether it counts during loading though; the PS2 version had ~15 second load times which are now down to 2-3 seconds, which certainly makes the game less frustrating!
