I picked up atomfall, and started a new play through, it initially grabbed me, and there's a new DLC or two, but as I started that DLC, my interest in it waned. It seems the DLC is just more of the same, and its not really pulling me into the game

Your darkest fears will awaken in these woods.

It’s 1996. A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods…

Survival horror game set in the haunted forest from The Blair Witch Project (1999), where, in 1996, a man and his dog find themselves lost while helping a search party look for a missing boy. If you like the first film, you'll probably like the game... Cant say much as would spoil the plot, less you know the better.

Tempted by Atomfall, but still have a lot of new games to play. DLC's tend to be like film sequels being very much hit and miss...

I saw Atomfall on sale, was ready to buy it, but then I checked out reviews, discovered no companions, and decided to hold off. For myself, there is definitely an element of companionship in RPG (games), that I am now expecting.🤔

Its a good game, I pre-bought it and did a complete play through. I don't think I was exactly clear on my latest post. I picked up the game for another play through.

I don't think it has the same level of play through-ability as the fallout games.

The charachter progression/mechanics is very unfallout like. You don't improve with XP. You have to learn plans, and have and collect training stims. For instance you want to increase your carrying capacity, you need 5 training stims. Want the ability to craft/improve weapons you have find and learn the plan, and then have 7 (I think 7) training stims to gain that ability.

Those stims are not hard to come by but its more of a an issue early in the game.

Also there's no hand holding, you need to talk to people which gives you a lead, and a location. You have walk there (no fast travel), and figure out what's happening. I was off put initially with this, but its manageable.

Since I pre-bought the game, I got the DLCs for free. I'm kind of underwhelmed by them, I don't know why. I just don't feel connected with that specific DLC story line. I'll probably just restore an older stave and skip it.

The Green light (2026)
1782062665029.png

Fred is stuck in a dead-end job, haunted by hallucinations. A voice on the radio speaks of a green light. It promises peace and freedom. A tale of self-discovery where Fred is willing to find freedom, even at the cost of his life.

The Green Light is a short indie first-person psychological horror that looks to be interesting and for less than a dollar (discounted) worth a look at..

In Sound Mind (2021)

As you awake in the corridors of an inexplicable building, you find the environment takes on a life of its own and leads you to discover a series of victims, all exposed to the same experimental chemical. In your search for answers, bizarre visions emerge and introduce a host of imposing horrors…

In Sound Mind is a psychological horror game, featuring puzzles, unique boss fights, and an engaging narrative. Game was a really enjoyable surprise, not at all what I expected. Puzzles and the amount of exploration the game encourages, searching for collectibles & hidden details made every area feel rewarding to explore. The puzzles are smart without being overly frustrating, and the atmosphere mixed with the emotional story kept me interested the whole way through. More a ghost story, than gorefest and leaves room & time for the horror, exploration & narrative.

June2026- Lately I’ve been in a game rut
  • MetalStorm has become my goto PVP game, just do not play this on a tablet or worse your phone, unless you want to be spanked. I’m playing on PC with an xbox controller, and this game convinced me of the worthiness of a controller and flight sim. It’s 5v5 and you can make a real difference in the outcome of fights, vs World of Warships (15v15) where you sometimes feel like your just a cog with not a lot of ability to change outcomes.
  • Rebel Galaxy Outlaws (2019)- A space trading and combat simulation game developed Double Damage Games looks like it has potential. I just went through the flight training and the game makes it easy to handle yourself in combat situations against highly mobile adversaries, by virtue of a lock and follow autopilot mechanism making it easy to keep enemies in your sights.

Just finished Resident Evil Requiem. Good game, but would have made an awesome coop game.

I play BF6 and Forza Horizon 6 regularly now. I did buy Ace Combat 7 for a great price, still haven't tried it out yet.
