People’s wants and needs change. My sister has a Pixelbook and she really likes it. I can’t imagine spending $1000 or more on a browser based laptop, but she’s more concerned with portability and has a pair of large work laptops for the other stuff.

I’d prefer a MacBook or the rumored Air if I was in the market for an ultraportable, but she doesn’t care for Macintosh. I try to avoid Windows when I’m not at work and I don’t really care for Google. Everyone is different.

Get the computer that you think works best for your particular needs. If you’re thinking about a Pixelbook, you don’t really need a MacBook Pro anyway.

I have never had good luck with Dell support. I have found them to be completely useless and talking to them is a waste of time. It’s usually easier to find the answer yourself.

I wuldn't buy a Pixelbook for $1000 but I would consider it at $650. There's a sale right now through 6/17. I'm waiting on the WWDC and if there's disappointing announcement with MBP,MBA,MB in general like just spec refreshes, then I'm really considering a Pixelbook.

I’m not expecting hardware, but just because the online store is still up doesn’t mean they won’t announce new hardware. The could announce something for release some weeks or months later, like with the iMac Pro.

We'll get the update when all other laptops are on the next generation of Intel CPU's. That seems to be the current form for Apple.

There's still very very very small change, that they announce something. MacOS is the last one and there might be "one more thing" . If there is, it's the Mac Pro tho :( But even that is really small chance.

They can’t even keep their live feed up. This company is so done, the only reason I’m still with them is due to the privacy stuff they talk about. At least they seem to care a little bit more than the other companies.

Otherwise it’s android which I don’t trust but has so many extra features and better notifications.

And windows, which is great and plays games and runs tons more software but doesn’t have some software that I use.

From the apps they have introduced so far, it is clear that Apple does not care about the pro market. So far, they just talk about "fun" apps catered for children, students and average consumers. This gives us an idea what Apple's direction is. We can probably tell what will happen to the pro Mac line the next few years.

There less then small it’s zero percent chance. The Mac pro isn’t going to be ready until 2019

Dont care about Pro's? I hope you are watching the Mac changes.

Are there any good features of Mojave that would turn somebody who is prepared to jump ship to buy the MBP 2017?

No new hardware was announced.

Because it’s a developer conference not a hardware announcement ? Idk why people actually thought it would happen . Very rarely have they done it at WWDC for a while now. You have the iPhone 4, iPad Pro 2017 and the 2013 MacBook.

Shall we wait until the end of the week to make a purchase decision or we can go ahead and decide by the end of today?

Well if there was an event in March that gave us refreshed notebooks then I wouldn’t be expecting them at WWDC. The point is not WWDC, it’s that it’s been a year since MBPs were updated and given the chips for them are out now Apple has no excuse unless they need more time fixing the keyboard.

Don’t get me started on the Mac book air, Mac mini, or Mac Pro.

Years ago, We used to get hardware updates at least once and sometimes twice a year. Waiting years now seems to be the norm.

Next update might be 2020.
