Oh hai
I did undergraduate work in mechanical engineering and am currently in graduate work in mechanical engineering/human computer interaction.
Basically, I am a research assistant that gets paid to play with and create fun toys. Any time new technology comes out people I work with ask themselves "what cool things other people will find useful can we do with this?"
I've done work previously for a few different companies and am going to continue to intern with a highly regarded large scale equipment company this summer. But to also be honest, I realized midway through my senior year of undergrad ME that most of the core classes really did not interest me - thermodynamics, hardcore product design, heat transfer, etc, so I am focusing more on the advanced tech side of things with Mechanical Engineering.
