I would pay around $400, unfortunately I have to do physical labor for my pay. with car, home, food, and etc. I have to save to get the new tech I want (not need). so I will pay as little as I can to get as close to what I want as possible.

Well crud - from a new piece Gruber posted...

"From what I’m hearing, I guessed pretty good last week: about $1,000 for Apple Watch, and $10,000+ for Edition. (I’m still thinking $749 starting price for the steel Apple Watch with Sport Band — exactly twice the price of the aluminum Sport model.)"

Blergh.

$600 for 42mm SS with classic buckle. Any higher than that and I will have to do some extra work of convincing the wife... which isn't an easy task!

So the Sport edition starts at $349, but the next line starts almost $700 more?

I will say that $349 sounds like they were working hard to try to hit a price. Most mainline Apple products are price around $100 increments (well, $x99), so putting this at $349 seems like that is really the lowest they could go. That makes me think it is possible that the Watch and Edition models could go significantly higher to help make up margin. I think they would be foolish to charge $1000 for the SS, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. As of this point, no price would really shock me.

Over the past month my ideal price has changed through reading. When I thought that the regular :apple: watch would cost $599 for a 38mm I was ok with it. That was a long time ago from where I stand now. Now the maximum I will pay is $1299 for a regular :apple: watch with the space black stainless steel link bracelet 42mm. In an ideal world I would rather not pay that much. My goal would be to spend $799 or $899. If I spend over $999 I will feel guilty buying one.

You are right for the apple watch.. we still don't know what the sport model will cost yet. ;)

I think Gruber is on crack with his pricing. No way does the SS model start at $750 and Edition for $10,000.. ridiculous

I really do think some of his pricing sounds crazy. It's just hard to tell if the $349 is for the Watch or the Sport. The thing is, how can it possibly be justified to sell the exact same product, with just a different material for almost twice the amount.

I don't really want to spend more than £399, so $499 (if it is the same exchange rate that Apple uses for iPad). If not, I'll simply go for a Sport and be done with it. I think many people will be in the same boat. If the price the SS is say $499, It'll sell a boatload, if it's too high, they'll sell almost none.

Max price people are willing to pay for Watch = $610 ; $567 w/less then $350 answers.

How much are you willing to pay for the Apple Watch? We know the sport 38mm one should be the starting $350 price.

Please state the edition model and size you want. Then say what is the MAX you will pay for it.

Either Apple Watch, Apple Sport, or Apple Edition

and either in 38mm or 42mm,

then the max you are willing to spend.

Making a poll will be to crowded since their are so many choices. I will instead count each of your answers and add the average them out.

I would spend a max $600 for the 42mm Apple Watch.

Probably about $1,000,000 dollars. If they do a limited Steve Jobs commemorative edition I might be prepared to go higher.

We're all slaves in the system man, I'm tell ya.

Actually I can't say really right now as the pricing is not out. Apple is good in upselling. Depends on what you get. I would like to spend just $350 and not more. In particular because it is a first gen product and if I like the concept I will get a better version 3-5 years down the road.

I was just reading the original press release. It clearly states Apple Watch will start at $349.

I am really wondering why everyone thinks that this will be the sports version? From the wording it's the regular version.

£450 (UK) absolute max.

£450 absolute max.

I like the apple watch sport which we're guessing will be £289 in the UK. I'll want the larger one so they might hit me for another £50 perhaps. A white or blue band would be fine. The only way they will persuade me to spend more is if the leather loop is available to buy separately and is less than £100. If it was, then I'd get it and have two bands.

If they're greedy and restrict it to the stainless steel watch or charge a fortune for it then apple will lose an upgrade sale. I can't honestly see a stainless steel watch with leather loop coming inside my £450 ceiling, and thats my absolute limit.

Pity if they do act greedy, leather loop in light brown with the apple watch sport looks good to me..

I think it was Apple saying the range of watches will start from $349. I can't see how they could justify the Sports being priced higher than the stainless steel :apple:Watch.

Let me quote from the press release.
Apple Watch will be available in three collections. Apple Watch, with a polished or space black stainless steel case and a choice of straps; Apple Watch Sport, with a space gray or silver anodized aluminum case and Sport Band; and Apple Watch Edition, with an 18-karat rose or yellow gold case and a choice of straps exclusive to this collection. Apple Watch straps include the Sport Band in black, blue, green, pink and white; the Classic Buckle in black and midnight blue; the Leather Loop in bright blue, light brown and stone; the Modern Buckle in midnight blue, brown, soft pink, rose gray and bright red; the Milanese Loop in stainless steel; and the Link Bracelet in brushed stainless steel and polished space black. Apple Watch will be available in early 2015 starting at $349 (US).

Just saying the way it is reading or maybe better I am reading it is that it is not clear which one is the $349. Usually they list their products from low price to high.

Apple have two meanings for the phrase "Apple Watch"...

Apple Watch (the range of watches) will be available in three collections. Apple Watch (the model), with a polished or space black stainless steel case and a choice of straps; Apple Watch Sport, with a space gray or silver anodized aluminum case and Sport Band; and Apple Watch Edition, with an 18-karat rose or yellow gold case and a choice of straps exclusive to this collection. Apple Watch (the range of watches) straps include the Sport Band in black, blue, green, pink and white; the Classic Buckle in black and midnight blue; the Leather Loop in bright blue, light brown and stone; the Modern Buckle in midnight blue, brown, soft pink, rose gray and bright red; the Milanese Loop in stainless steel; and the Link Bracelet in brushed stainless steel and polished space black. Apple Watch (is this describing the range or the model?) will be available in early 2015 starting at $349 (US).
