I don't have a single reason but numerous:

- Sexy all around device with amazing details and feels extremely well built
- iOS
- Apple's ecosystem (Seamlessly works well with all my Macs, iPad, iCloud)
- Simplicity and ease of use
- Appstore with a lot of high-quality and premium apps
- UX/UI Is the best of any smartphone out there
- Gorgeous Screen
- Amazing Cameras
- Overall design
- Airplay

This for me too. Plus wealth of accessories and service stores.

Design.

It's a thing of beauty! And also, I'm too invested in iTunes to make a switch. Apps store has everything that I need.

iphone has the best camera
GSIII form factor is too large
I dislike Super AMOLED screens
Podcast management is way better on iOS
after being on android for 2 years the new iterations seem way bloated
retina display is beautiful

Honestly, too many reasons to pick just one. The S3 to me, is just too big for a phone. I want a big screen, but not a tablet as a phone. The 4 inch Iphone 5 screen is perfect to me. Then the build quality. It seems a lot of people don't mind the cheap plastic feel of the S3. I prefer a device with premium quality build materials, and nothing is better in that category than the Iphone. Next, I like android a lot, but I hate TouchWhiz from Samsung. I wish Android would only allow pure google android interfaces, no touchwhiz, motorola blur, htc sense, etc. Next, iphone has more and better apps. Also, the iphone has a more intuitive, simple ui/os that is smoother, and more uniform than Android. And last, but not least, I've always had less bugs, glitches with ios than I've had with Android.

iOS, meaning:
- The OS self is far better than Android. I could never live without a decent music player, a good notification system, etc.
-The apps. Apps on iOS are usually nicer than Android.
- iCloud. Shared photostreams, daily backups, photo stream, etc. So useful.

S3 was just never an option in my mind.
Love my iPhone 5

the only phone that could MAYBE draw me away was the nokia lumia 920 but I had to switch carriers and get a phone now so that solved that problem.

Software quality. The iOS operating system and the 3rd party apps feel a lot more consistent and higher quality overall than Android. This is obviously just my opinion and I'm sure others will disagree with me! ;)

The Ecosystem...
I actually tried to go to Android but the HTC ONE X I got had myriad problems. It would just "hang" and become completely unresponsive at random times during the day and at one point while in North Carolina the phone was just sure I was in Greece...the country. After my second HTC ONE X got hung ringing (got a phone call but the phone wouldn't respond to let me answer it) I took it back and asked to swap for the iPhone.

Contrarian View

I went with the S3. The plastic case may feel cheap to some but I like it and hey as far as I know there's no cell phone beauty pageant.

The speed and the screen are fantastic for me. I like the size and one handed operation is fine.

With Android I can switch the look of the phone anytime I want with the three different launchers I have downloaded, including a windows clone. Plus with Widget Locker I can customize the look and the functions of my lock screen. About 90% of the apps I had on my iphone I have on my S3 including doubletwist which works with Itunes so all my music and playlist are there.

I discovered last night that with a push of a button I can display my pics and videos on my 50" Sony TV.

I can hold the camera steady with both hands, say "shoot or cheese" and It with take a picture.

These's many more feature I haven't written and are still discovering.

The most important, however, is for about $225 I have a phone with 2GB ram and 80GB of storage.

It's your choice so get what's good for you. No reason to knock either one, choice is good. Oh wait Apple is the one that's trying to eliminate choice.

Easily keeps my phone in sync with other apple devices. I get a discount on my monthly plan. The phone os may be a bit stale but its pretty stable and I can access things quickly.

One More Thing About The S3/Android

Tasker. I have my phone programmed to dim the screen and turn off the ringer and allow ringing if the caller is on my favorite list, at 10:44 at night.

Also when I'm 30 meters from home it turns off home wifi and turns on the GPS.

The people who make them aren't conservatives or at least not social conservatives...the executives don't wear business suits.

O.k Don't take that too literally. It isn't the single biggest reason.

Having owned the S3 from June - Last week. Here is the biggest reason I went back to Apple and the iPhone 5.

- I'm a Mac

All of my computers are Mac, use Apple TV, Air Print, iCloud and have invested several hundreds in iOS apps that I haven't found comparable android substitutions for.

The S3 is a great phone. I couldn't have used that long if not. At the end of the day though as closed as I may think the apple ecosystem is. And as tired as I may be of the look of iOS. In that 3 month period I got tired of ice cream sandwich and jelly bean.

I've rooted phone, flashed cyanogenmod 9 and 10, checked out supernexus, installed the leaked jellybean roms, used different launchers, etc.. All of that is cool, gets old as well.

Once the wow factor wears off, I've found I'm most happy with iOS and it has the best tools to complete what I need to do on a daily basis.

My only reason is the fact that I've purchased around $200 worth of apps that I couldn't take with me to Android...If I was starting new and this was my first smartphone, would have picked the S3.

More than one reason for me. I ditched my iPhone 4 for the S3 for about 4-5 months. The reason why I sold my S3 to go back to iOS/iPhone is because

1.) Ecosystem, I had literally all my music on iTunes, contacts, etc etc you name it.

2.) Size. I loved the 4.8" screen at first, but after using it for a few weeks, I realized one hand use was IMPOSSIBLE for me. Very uncomfortable to use if lying in bed or something

3.) Design. Wasn't feeling a massive peice of plastic tbh...
