I took a chance today and popped over to the local Apple Store at lunchtime and picked up a base 16" model. They didn't have them on display as they hadn't finished setting them up, but had a few in stock. Very impressed so far... Display, speakers and keyboard are all standouts for me - I've just been setting it up so not had a chance to checkout the performance yet.

Nov 25-27th ordered late last night. Did 32GB, then said screw it and redid with 64GB. No change in date. (Having lots of RAM issues with 16GB 2016 MacBook Pro).

Exactly 1 million times as much RAM as my first computer lol.

16-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray
Hardware:
  • 2.4GHz 8‑core 9th‑generation Intel Core i9 processor, Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz
  • AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of GDDR6 memory
  • 64GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory
  • 1TB SSD storage

Congrats. Tell us more!!
This thing is so sweet! The display is big, coming from a 13". The keyboard is a huge upgrade from the butterfly tech. This new one feels sort of like a nice hybrid between the butterfly and scissor. Typing on this is much more comfortable and not as loud. The speakers are everything they're saying and more! It's crazy how nice these speakers are on this new MBP compared to the past iterations. It's not much bigger than a 15" and still fits in my old backpack. I'm loving this new MBP so far!

For those of you receiving notification on shipping...

Did you go very high-end? In other words, i9 processors, 32-64 GB ram and over 1TB storage?

Any shipping notifications on those models?

I went 2.4 i9, 32 GB RAM, 8 GB Radeon and 2 TB SSD. I suspect this is going to be the in store BTO configuration.
Shipped this AM from China, due to arrive next week.

I ordered a 2.4/64GB/2TB/8GB 5500 Wednesday morning shortly after the announcement. Still processing, estimated Nov 21-25 (Express option)

I’m actually visiting Colorado right now, local store in Colorado Springs had a 2.4/32GB/2TB/8GB 5500 model in stock this morning according to the website. I was about to cancel my order and go grab that one but I was too late. Don’t really need the 64GB but figured it might be nice if I start building large test labs in Parallels.

Interesting, did you order later? I got November 27 - 29 for Sweden, and it is now preparing for shipping and visible in the UPS app.

I ordered a few minutes after Tim's tweet an i9, 2.4 GHz, 32 GB, 2 TB, with Radeon 5500M 8 GB.

I originally ordered on thursday at 5:30pm, with delivery 6to to 10th, but cancelled order because I was a but unsure about what spec, and landed on my spec when I ordered yesterday, then it was moved to 9th to 11th.

I just got a SMS from apple with a tracking number. It seems to say the computer is in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands. I am surprised as the arrival date is still set as November 27. Anyone else see the same thing?

I ordered on the 13th with shipping 26th - 28th.
It has now shipped and will be delivered on Tuesday 19th, a good result I would say.

Maxed out model. It says Nov 26th to 29th (express shipping), which would put it around Tue-ish of the following week. However, Apple often ships these things earlier than promised, so I'm hoping for the end of next week.

Has anyone that order a 64 GB ram variant moved to the preparing to ship stage?

Not yet... I’m in the Nov 21-25 Window. Maxed out specs except SSD (2TB). Will post as soon as it moves away from “Processing”... still hopeful for an arrival early next week.

Looks like a lot of stores just got the higher spec model in stock (2.4/32GB/2TB/5500 8GB)... I’m tempted to cancel mine and go pick one of those up but really want the 64GB for multiple large VMs.

Just had my card charged for full price, but no change to order status - just processing...

Wondering if my December arrival day might start speeding up. Shouldn’t get my hopes up!

Any one had their arrival dates change / get faster/sooner?

I ordered that exact config for store pickup knowing that it would likely be in stores sooner, despite the estimated ready date being November 27. Just checked my order and it's been updated to November 21 pickup. Suspect it might move up again.

Needed the education discount of ordering online, plus the 2% back from Glamour Rewards (my wife always has to remind me), plus went with store pickup vs shipping as my nearest Apple store is 1% cheaper on sales tax vs my neighborhood. The micro-tax situation in California is pretty crazy.
