mine shipped, estimated arrival on 11/20 but currently delayed in customs(?!)

Original post:
I ordered a 2.4/64GB/2TB/8GB 5500 Wednesday morning shortly after the announcement. Still processing, estimated Nov 21-25 (Express option)

I’m actually visiting Colorado right now, local store in Colorado Springs had a 2.4/32GB/2TB/8GB 5500 model in stock this morning according to the website. I was about to cancel my order and go grab that one but I was too late. Don’t really need the 64GB but figured it might be nice if I start building large test labs in Parallels.

Out of customs, but now getting another exception: "Due to operating conditions, your package may be delayed" ... just received a UPS MyChoice notice that it will be delivered tomorrow, but tracking says otherwise. Who knows.

Original window 11/21-11/25

Ordered yesterday. Dec 5 store pickup. Hoping that moves up earlier.

2.4GHz 8‑core 9th‑generation Intel Core i9 processor, Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz
64GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of GDDR6 memory
8TB SSD storage

MAX'd out. Made the mistake of getting only 512 gb storage last time, and using 1tb external ssd's. Video files filled all that space quick. Had to dump too much stuff. I was about to get more ssd's when this came out. Probably don't need everything max'd but I have returned or upgraded 3X in past 2 years, and lost a lot in trade in value. I figure getting one I will actual keep for a few years, is cheaper in the long run. Only disappointment in this one is they didn't upgrade the camera, but I never use it anyway. BTW...I teach and the ed discount is nice!

Ordered a 2.4, 64GB / 8GB GPU / 4 TB on the 13th with an expected delivery date of the 30th and it shipped today, looks like it arrives on the 25th and I won’t be home until a week later.

I will have to figure out a delivery option...

Order on the 14th at the Apple Store, it's currently preparing for shipment. SG/2.4/64/8/8 build.

Mine got bumped up from the 25-27 to this Thurs. I'll believe it when I see it though.

Ordered on: November 13, maxed out everything but got 4tb instead of 8tb.

Interesting enough, if I open the Apple Store app the update has changed to “Your Order is Being Prepared for Shipment” but if I go look at my pretty at Apple.com in the safari web browser it says “Your item has shipped and is on the way to the Apple Store.”

Does anyone know if there’s a way to track an order that is going to the Apple store. I assume not.

They didn’t charge my credit card either. They will once it’s ready for shipment.

I tried my desired configurations and the delivery date is expected to be first week of December. Why the delivery date is so late?

Because you upgraded some specs. Base model will have an earlier delivery date but because you chose some upgrades they will need to build your MBP based on your desired configuration.

So Apple does mot keep all different configurations in stock and customized models need be shipped from China like the Thinkpad?

That’s what I was told when I live chatted with Apple support. They said my MBP needs to be be built. I then checked by adding the base MBP model to my bag and I got a Nov delivery date.

Same config as sat24, ahojfelixi and nbuubu... Ordered today and ETA is December 9th.
The suspense is killing me. Found my local store (UK) has the high end config barring 64GB RAM in stock. But I’m telling myself the wait is worth it for the config I feel is best! Do hope once it ships mine and your arrival ETAs move up a bit. The message in the order does seem to indicate that they’ll update the dates when shipping starts 🤞

Yep, get what you want, even if you have to wait. A month from now, you will regret not waiting.
