5:45 PM will be early enough for the expensive 64GB model. They did not sell out last year and they will not sell out this time.

I'll probably be crying and moaning about how I have to wait 14 more days and even being charged more money for it. D:

Not taking a lunch on Friday so I can leave an hour early @3:00pm and should be at Best Buy by 3:20 in line for a black 64gb wifi. I should be fine and in my car by 6:00pm on my way home to hook it up to itunes to sync it up 
My game plan is to wait an additional two weeks before it's released here.

Went to the Best Buy yesterday by work to find out the deal. They are selling them all starting at 5pm. I'll take a lunch around 8pm and go get one. They said when the iPad 1 came out the only models that sold were the low end models. They were sitting on higher end models for a good 3 days. No Genius to deal with plus 18 months no interest on my BEst Buy card= #winning!
called local apple store... they denied that any promotions are going to be run.
can everyone call their local store and ask please?

From what I understand, even if you order online Friday in the wee hours of the morning, you still won't actually received your iPad 2 for a good 3-5 days.
With that said, I'll probably try to go to a Best Buy or Apple Store on Friday evening, see if the line isn't very bad (shouddn't be too bad since its not a brand new product like the iPad, but rather an update really of an existing product, and doesn't require setup like the iPhone 4).
If the lines are bad, then I'll try either the other Best Buy or Apple Store, or just then order it then late on Friday night online and have to wait around 5 days while it gets delivered. Would be really nice though to have it over the weekend to play around on it right away.

Stupid question possibly, but exactly where are people going to "line up" at a best buy or target?
Will they hold a separate line outside the store for it? I mean the rest of the store will obviously be open, so it isn't like Black Friday or anything.....

You'll have to ask the reps in the store. They might make people form a line outside and/or pass out numbers.

I figure if I end up with 2 and for some odd reason they'd sell out I can always throw it on eBay, if not just return 1 of them.
