What is Your March 11th Game Plan?

My plan..

Go to school.. get out of school at 3, go to my local best buy which is 5 minutes away from the school.. Ask them do they have the white iPad and any smart covers.. if they say no, drive 20 miles to the local Apple Store, hoping that not many people already lined up.

1: Go to BestBuy at 4:30.
2: At 5, try to get 16GB Wifi white
3a: If I don't get one, order online
3b: If I do get one, rush home to plug into iTunes.
4: Use new iPad.

They did free T-shirts at the Lincoln park store open in Chicago, I have 2 actually.

But I don't think they'll do it for a new product anymore.

I have an AMAZING girlfriend who is going to to go wait in line at the apple store in bridgewater between 2-3 for me because I have to work and can't get there till 5. 32 gig wifi black here I come!
 
I'm going to get the 3g version. Are they going to sell the WiFi only version at the AT&T stores? If not I may go there because the line should be shorter.

i can't go on friday. I'm here in philly and i need to go home in CT after office.
saturday - picking up mini cooper clubman for wife.

haha, my wife is going to the same store to do the same for me, but ill be there a little before 5
 
This is kind of a "I will believe it when I see it" sorta thing.....but i have 2 friends that work at my local Apple store who said that if you wear your apple product launch t-shirt (any official product launch or store opening t-shirt that they gave out in the past), that you will receive a free $25 iTunes card WITH your iPad2 purchase. They clarified with me that this will happen with ALL Apple stores, only on Friday. They were instructed to "quietly" give them out to all wearing the above described t-shirts upon paying for the iPad2.
 
I've decided on a 32GB Black 3G model and even though I plan on going up to the Apple store at noon, I would probably be able to go up there right before launch and get one no problem.

Hmm... I might be able to dig out a Leopard launch t-shirt... can't hurt :D
 
if my walmart gets the ipad lets say by friday 8am. they'll sell it at 8am lol.
they always do that with cds/dvds etc.
if not i'll go to bestbuy [get a ticket/if they give em out]
and get it 5.

the economy here sucks. so getting an ipad will be easy
 
Genius Bar Appointment

OK, this probably has already been tried and/or I will just get yelled at by an Apple employee....but let's say I make an appointment at the Genius Bar at 5:00, walk up for my scheduled appointment and then tell the guy (or gal) that I want to buy an ipad 2. Would they send me to the end of the line?

I really don't think there's going to be too much of a frenzy over the launch on Friday.

I'm planning on going to the Apple store about 7 PM on Friday to avoid the rush. I highly doubt they're going to sell out. I most of the hardcore Apple fan boys are going to be sticking with their original iPads for a while and most average consumers that really want one already have one.

I'll get to best buy at 4:45 from work. If I can't get it there, I'll head to the Apple store. If no luck there, I'll order online from my current iPad. :)
 
March 11? Go to work. Go coach the high school lacrosse team. Go home. Eat some stir-fry. Go to the gym. Go home. Mess around on my first Gen iPad. Go watch a movie with the girlfriend. Go to bed. Wake up and check out the rumor sites to see coverage of people getting their iPad 2's.
 
so Target's twitter today or yesterday says they'll be selling the ipad 2 on march 11 at 5 p.m. as well.

now, from store to store which of them will follow those rules, who knows. i'm still going to call tomorrow night and thursday night (to the local targets and walmarts) to see what the deal will be.

i just hope one of those 4 places will have the model i want, because i really don't want to go to best buy or God forbid — the apple store — on launch day.

This won't happen. As with all big releases, the Genius bar will not have time openings for a few hours during launch. They block it off so that all the staff can assist with the launch... You can even see this now if you try to set an appt.
 
I'm planning on lining up at 3:30 (dang you, school) to get a black 64 GB wifi iPad. I know no one knows, but do you think this is early enough since I want a bigger model?
