Your photo isn't working again buddy. :(

Hmm, it's working for me and it uses a straight forward url (unlike some top layer google images). After our last discussion about pics, I always go to the source for my link. I'm hesitant to upload potentially copyrighted material to MR, so I link it, which is also less work. :) Anyone else can't see it?

I'm hesitant to upload potentially copyrighted material to MR,

I wouldn't really worry about it for the stuff we're doing and talking about here. It's exceptionally rare that it becomes an issue. I can think of only one time it has happened since I've been here, and it related to a user's avatar.

A simple note to Arn came in and then it was removed.

X-Men First Class. I'll watch the blu ray next time. Basic cable sucks with their five minutes of commercials after every scene.

My favorite X-Men film (could have watched Fassbender's Mageneto kill nazis for two hours myself... the bad guys ruled this film.)

Fassbender played in X-Men? Interesting, shouldn't have stopped after the first two films probably....but then again, found both of 'em really awful.

Should be cheapish now, so may give it a look.

it's worth seeing

First Class is my favorite of the X-Men films because the bad guys are so much fun and how Fassbenders' Magneto gets there is worth seeing.

I loved how this film tweaked early 60s history just enough to fit the story (oh and Azazel as a red Commie "devil", ha ha perfect.)

In hindsight, I have to agree about the rest of the X-Men films being pretty bad (although I did enjoy The Wolverine this year as I do like Hugh in the part.)

Saw Michael Kohlhaas in the theater yesterday - a very good movie in my opinion. Rather mean and gritty but very compelling and artistically satisfying.

It have been some years since I read Kleist's novella the last time (and since it was during my schooltime, I rather read to pass instead of comprehend ) but I have to dig deep in my bookshelf for that reclam booklet. Will be interesting to compare.

I finally got around to watching Star Trek into the darkness.
A good science fiction movie on its own, they seem unable to come up with an original movie themselves. They re-treaded the wrath of khan, even to the point of fixing the reactor to get the ship out of danger.

Still, I enjoyed the movie and that's what counts.

I like Mads Mikkelsen from Casino Royale and A Royal Affair. Was this movie in French?

Probably some homage at work, but wasn't the first Abrams Star Trek story pretty original considering it was an alternate reality from the original show?

The first Abrams Star Trek basically blew up the franchise so they could start over. I think its a bit more then homage to me. They had some opportunities in the second movie, but instead they just did a retread of the Wrath of Khan. Don't get me wrong, its a good movie, but they copied too much plot and story-line from the original.

He's really good, seems like he looks always the same, though. Works for me nevertheless. It's a French/German co-production and I watched it in German. That'd be my sole criticism: dubbing wasn't that good! But it's an excellent movie, so I'll watch it definitely again, hopefully the French dub is better.

Once Le Chiffre, always Le Chiffre? ;)

The mark of a truly great actor is the ability to change their base personality. Very few can do this, I'd say Jonny Depp (although his Jack Sparrow run may have ruined him), Al Pacino, Robert Dinero (when he was younger), or even maybe Jack Nicholson thinking of A Few Good Men and As Good As It Gets. Maybe not, Jack Nicholson is Jack Nicholson. ;)

don't want the blond guy to do it with the robot. again.

late to the conversation as always. i'm redbox like that. saw it last night.

agree with all of the above. retread. been watching since the original. this was a complete 'let's just redo the whole Khan thing' for a new generation. same story. same crisis. hero emerges after the disaster with the same recover from death thing. wow...

i love Star Trek. really, a lot.

i want them to tell a new story, or do something that has NOT be done before.

or tell a story that leads into a story that they already told before. all new and stuff.

my only problem with Voyager leaving the solar system in 08/12 is that it will come back as a 'StarTrek' movie to follow up on the 'V-ger' episode.

it's gone. move on. 40,000 years until it encounters the next system. plenty of time to come up with a new idea. just sayin'...
