All Is Lost - "After a collision with a shipping container at sea, a resourceful sailor finds himself, despite all efforts to the contrary, staring his mortality in the face." Despite very little dialogue, overall, the movie was excellent, as was Robert Redford's performance.

Smokin' Aces. Joe Carnahan's sometimes funny Tarantino-seque crime comedy was more interesting for the whackadoodle hit people than the man they are being paid to kill: former magician and wanna-be Las Vegas mobster Buddy "Aces" Israel.

I liked this a lot better than Tarantino's stuff because the assassins are so playful and over-the-top.

The scene stealer for me was Chris Pine. He was hilarious as the lead Tremor brother (and the reason why I am chomping at the bit to see Carnahan's next crime comedy Stretch. That looks utterly insane in the funniest of ways.)

I liked Alicia Keys too. She had great chemistry with Common and Chris Pine. I wouldn't mind seeing her act in something else.

The X Files (1998)
Mulder and Scully must fight the government in a conspiracy and find the truth about an alien colonization of Earth.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch

I watched this film with my dear friend after an episode of NBC's "Hannibal". Coincidentally, the actor Michael Pitt portrays Tommy Gnosis in the former and Mason Verger in the latter.

And... Was it any good? You've got to critique a movie with a name like this. ;)
I assume the "angery itch" references something about sexuality.

House of Clocks by Fulci.

Bit of a missed opportunity for me, starts great with a Balzac quote, nice score and an awesome Italian villa + park but unfortunately couldn't keep it going strong. For a low budget tv movie I'd rate it along the 5-6/10 mark.

War of the Worlds. Is this Spilbergs darkest film. As a father I find it quite disturbing. I can relate to the overwhelming desire he has to protect his kids. It kind of makes you think. What would you do?

It's actually "Inch" and it's angry since Hedwig wanted to get rid of all of it.

I don't know that I want to watch a movie about someone that sure they need gender reassignment. I would expect it to be just a little bit too depressing.

Last weekend we made it through "The Two Towers." It was just as good this time through.

Doh! Well, I was close.

The Two Towers is awesome!

The Equalizer - I enjoyed it as I watched it, but towards the end, I was glad it was almost over. And the more I thought about it afterwards, the less the story made sense. It really had the potential to be so much better.

The Ghost Writer - Got off to a slow start, but I really enjoyed this movie.

Last night I saw Liam Neeson's new movie, A Walk Among the Tombstones. It was good. If you are thinking it's another Taken then know that you are mistaken. It was much more of a detective/mystery kind of movie with some darkness and grit thrown in there. I enjoyed it.

Did he ever make a bad movie?

Watching the Patriot tonight. Seen it before, and it is quite a long movie, but it's the best that's on.

Barcelona (1994)
Ted, a stuffy white guy from Illinois working in sales for the Barcelona office of a US corporation, is paid an unexpected visit by his somewhat less stuffy cousin Fred, who is an officer in the US Navy. Over the next few months, both their lives are irrevocably altered by the events which follow Fred's arrival, events which are the trivial stuff of a comedy of manners at first but which gradually grow increasingly dramatic.
