caught Mortdecai (much better than had been led to believe) on big screen and finally got round to seeing Birdman while we were there (overly long on Brdman but held up OK)

Fury (2014)- A WWII film about a M4 Sherman tank crew. Good at showing the damage that war does to participants and survivors. Not a signifianct tank combat movie, as with large tank battles, but an interesting encounter with both a gun emplacement, I assumed to be a tank destroyer and a Tiger. Not sure I bought the final battle but maybe it was based on a real story? Don't know.

I play a lot of World of Tanks,. This movie shows tank warfare as mostly brute strength as compare to my entertainment which seems to include a lot of strategy, but it also includes a lot of artifically.

Just finished watching 'The Equalizer' with Denzel Washington. Based on the TV series. It certainly had a Home Depot ending!

2013’s "Out of the Furnace" on Netflix “When Rodney Baze mysteriously disappears and law enforcement doesn't follow through fast enough, his older brother, Russell, takes matters into his own hands to find justice.” Actors include Woody Harrelson, Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Salddana, Sam Shepard, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, among others. Steel town in depressed setting. Shocking, brutal, grim, a slow burn that some hold as brilliant and intense; for others, settling into some same 'ole.

Finally bought Nightcrawler. I'm halfway through it. Pretty freaking awesome imho.

Nightcrawler was pretty good. Just watched it last night as well. I don't agree with the 95% on RT, mainly because of the story. It's hard to believe he can actually get away with certain (several) things without drawing attention. But otherwise, solid acting from Jake Gyllenhaal. Rene Russo could've done better though.

I really liked that movie for some reason.

I just watched Lucy last night, I really liked that one too for some reason. These types of movies are generally not my thing but both will be watched again.

Woody Allen's Magic in the Moonlight.

It was alright- I could tell that Colin Farrell was trying to act like woody. Not my favorite.

Recently rediscovered the sweet and underrated The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain.

I watched "A Cat in Paris", 2010, last night and enjoyed it & the animation very much. Never would have guessed Anjelica Huston voiced Claudine's British accent.

The animation using actual pastels & Canson paper was beautiful, as was the soundtrack (with something from Billie Holiday ). ---The closing sequence was beautifully noir-ish. It looked heavily influenced by Maurice Binder/"Charade" with Audrey Hepburn & Cary Grant.

The night before that I watched "Gentlemen Broncos" by the makers of "Napoleon Dynamite". I felt goodwill because of ND, but Gentlemen Broncos was truly horrible. It needed editing of all sorts and a firm hand; --unless Jared & Jerusha Hess deliberately wanted to poke everyone in the eye with a stick. If so, they succeeded.

---Aaaannnd for the previous 2 weeks I've been watching the Harry Potter series backwards, from least-viewed to the first pair. I enjoyed them much more as the books were not so fresh in mind. "Prisoner of Azkaban" has always been my favorite, and all the ones after. The first two were sappier and more Disneyesque, especially the endings.
