Great movie, remember lots of laughing in the cinema when I saw it.

Have you tried the original French version (La cage aux Folles, 1978)?
Followed by a sequel in 1980 and second sequel in 1985.

Although I have to say that the birdcage was a summary of the three movies, taking some parts of all and toning it down while "Robin Williamsing" it up.

Man, I miss Robin Williams :-(

I have not, but will keep an eye open for it, maybe Netflicks. :) Looking back over Robin William's career, my favorite performances of his were Birdcage, Jumangi, Aladdin, and Dead Poet Society.

indeed and for me, I'm adding to that list Bicentennial man and One hour photo.

I'm looking to rewatch Mediteranneo. A foreign film that did well and wound up winning awards. Soldiers landing on a Greek island and being spiritually taken by the inhabitants.

Test Pilot (1938)- Gable,Tracy, Loy, kind of a terrible movie, labored dialog , with Spencer Tracy as the third wheel.

Rome Adventure (1962)- Troy Donahue and Suzanne Pleshette, also blah. It's no Roman Holiday.

Watched Bronco Billy late last night. I'm a huge fan of Clint Eastwood movies. Even the silly ones :)

I saw his son's new movie yesterday, and it was much better than I'd hoped for. Scott Eastwood is in the new Nicholas Sparks' romance The Longest Ride. It borrows the structure of The Notebook and it is excellent as far as the romance genre goes!

Quantum of Solace (2008)- again! :):)

Trivia: The flying duel was filmed over Baha California, outstanding editing, and the hotel in the desert, which I initially assumed was a set, is an actual building called the ESO Hotel, a residence for scientists and personnel who work at the Paranal Observatory located in the Atacama Desert located on the West Coast of central South America.

I watched Iron Man 3 a couple of nights ago. Less sucky than I'd been led to believe. I suspect some of the gripes were down to the beefing up of Paltrow's role, because she appears to be the most hated woman in Hollywood. Desperately lacking any AC/DC, though, and Tony's much less fun when he's introspective.

Carrying on the Studio Gihbli season in our house. Again it's an aquired taste. My daughter loves them. Me not so much.

Getting something a bit more mature from Studio Ghibli, as Ponyo is definitely toddler girlish. The Secret World of Arietty and Whisper of the Heart will do her good for those tween years...

But for you, outside of Princess Mononoke, you'll absolutely love Naussica of the Valley of the Wind. Very good one from Ghibli.

Right now, for me, we're waiting to see Home. Our son earned it by being great on the bus ride to/from school (he just turned 5), and our 3-year old daughter was brave enough to try to sit on the potty and go, that we're treating them to the movie...

.. Drive-In style. Home is showing at the local drive-in, so we're taking them to that, and having a pizza picnic in the back of our Toyota Highlander. :)

Furious 7 - Not too different from the styles of previous Fast and Furious movies... Simple plot riddled with holes, but tons of fun action sequences.

~$800M worldwide in 2 weeks, with just a few days open in some foreign majors (it did ~$70M in opening day in China) and still not opened in others. Looks like it's easily headed toward the $1B club.

I'm sure there's some interest over Walkers death, but this franchise as of late has some crazy momentum.

Nice! I haven't been to a drive-in for like 20+ years.

Princess Mononoke is pretty fantastic, some outstanding voice talent in the English version (BBT, Gillian Anderson! Bender!) though I think it was also greatly helped in that Neil Gaiman provided some re-authoring of the original Japanese material vs. just a direct translation. :)

I haven't been to one since I was 5, so we're all looking forward to it!

IIRC, Naussica has Patrick Stewart, but the entire story in that one is great.. with a bit of an Amelia Earhart vibe to it. You'll enjoy it.

Well it's better than The Cat Returns! Her favorite so far is My Neighbour Totoro.

I didn't enjoy The Cat Returns as much as most other Studio Ghibli movies. (And am still mustering up to watch my copy of Tales from Earthsea. I enjoyed the Ursula LeGuin books and read that the anime movie version isn't as good. Plus I don't particularly feel like wallowing in labyrinths of Death yet.)

My Neighbor Totoro is simply great. Maybe you'd both like Porco Rosso, Castles in the Sky, and Spirited Away, (you might find the part where the parents turn into swine disturbing, although your daughter not so much).
