Watched Taken 2 yesterday (yes I realise I'm 1 behind!). It was okay, but not as good as the original. God does Taken 3 compare?
Taken?
I thought that was a fighting video game.

Fairly sure that would be Tekken.Taken?

How old are they? I find older stuff like this doesn't always translate well to the younger generation.I finally introduced my boys to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. They are on their second viewing this weekend, so I'm going to assume they like it.
11 and 13. I agree, older movies can be pretty hit or miss. In this case, since it's supposed to be the middle ages, there isn't very much that requires context to be funny. The black night gets his arm cuts off and tries to deny it "it's merely a flesh-wound". Funny. How old are they? I find older stuff like this doesn't always translate well to the younger generation.
Excellent choice boss.

What a great freaking movie!
Agreed it is one of my all time favorites.
I saw a commercial last night for the upcoming reboot of Vacation. Really?!? That movie is a classic. I'm not sure I like that they are redoing it.![]()

That movie, is like Airplane for me, so many good lines and scenes that are quoted a lot and everyone "usually" knows what you are referencing!!!
MP&THG is a classic and so dang funny. It's one of those movies, like Airplane! that is full of clever writing and silly jokes. And extremely quotable.
"Surely you're not serious?" "I am serious. And don't call me Shirley." mwahhahahhaha.
"What...is your favorite color?" "Blue. No, red! WAHHHHHHHhhhhh......" Still makes me laugh.

Mad Max (2015) - Verdict: The movie is insane... in a good way. The costume and vehicle designs are spot-on. The action was great. Coolness factor was great. The acting is okay. The story is okay. The really surprising thing about the movie is the direction. I expected it to be more like Transformers or Armageddon*, where every shot has to be constantly moving (like a kid's sugar-laden snack commercial) and where the audience is assumed to have ADHD. Thankfully, we're not subjected to that here, even when the action is at its most intense. Sure, there are very quick shots and fast zooms but they fit very well and added to the feel.
Anyway, this movie is very entertaining. Score: 7.25/10
*While writing this I looked up the director for Armageddon... LOL it's also Michael Bay?Same as Transformers... LOL
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 - Verdict: Not as funny as the first one but still a very charming and enjoyable movie with some pretty funny moments. Score: 7.1/10
Well, at least they did this in the sense of a sequel than just a blatant reboot.Saw Mad Max: Fury Road and Jurassic World.
Mad Max: Fury Road is a good movie, but I couldn't "see" Max Rockatansky in the character that Tom Hardy played.
Without Mel Gibson, Mad Max: Fury Road was a great post-apocalyptic movie, but not a Mad Max post-apocalyptic movie.
I still liked the movie.
Loved Jurassic World, the music and the JP Jeep Wrangler gave it a little nostalgic feel, although I would have loved some cameo's from Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.
...maybe I'm getting old and I don't like the trend of Hollywood remaking, re-imaging or continuing with characters and movies that I grew up with.
... Human Lanterns ...
