Tried to watch Zoolander 2 last night. Couldn't do it. Shame, as I really liked the first one. Looking to check out Batman vs Superman next.

Human Lanterns (1982) One of the best morality horror films I've seen in my many years of watching horror. Basically a Have Not pretends to forgive a Have for ruining his life. And so the Have Not proceeds to destroy the life of the wealthy snob, by making the title lanterns out of the skin of the Have's women. I love everything about most of Sun Chung's wuxia and when he gets gory, he'll show just enough to make you wince, but leave most to your imagination. "...trouble follows the vain..." indeed.

and the usual Sun Chung titles in constant rotation, Judgement of An Assassin (1977) and The Deadly Breaking Sword (1979). Think it's about time I revisit Revenge of the Corpse (1981.) And I haven't watched Sun's Foxy Brown rip off yet either. Hrm.

Yes, Human Lanterns was a blast. If I ever find time again to watch a movie *sob* that'd be a good start.

Received a couple of shockers lately - just discovered Uli Lommel, German director and friend of RW Fassbinder, and would finally like see The Tenderness of The Wolves, The BoogeyMan (80s) and Devonsville Terror. At least football is over so that should give me some spare time in the evening again :D
Also started watching The Thief by Micheal Mann (soundtrack by Tangerine Dream) and with James Caan - was good but I had to stop after 20mins and haven't had time to finish it snice now.

Really would like to see High-Rise in the theatre. Supposed to be a good movie and it deals with, tata!, architecture - rather rare occasion. Hiddleston is a keeper for me so should be good.

Awww... well. Nice to see you hear, glad you're watching something again. I may eventually rent High-Rise, but it's not on my must see list. Still haven't seen Deadpool yet and there's a couple of others as well. I am doubling down on Shaw Brothers now so, I expect to see little else in coming months. Oh, wait...:p

The scene with Flash is kinda interesting. I will admit I like Ben Affleck more as Batman than I ever did with Christian Bale. I don't find Henry Cavill to be a great Superman. He isn't as good looking as Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh. His Superman seems kinda of a pansy. I even like Dean Cain better!

Batman owned him in the movie which is fine by me because even though Cap 3 is a better movie, I hated seeing Iron Man or Spidey lose to Cap in a fight. I wasn't as annoyed by Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor after more viewings. Give him some humor sort of like The Joker.

When I think of "FALSE GOD", I think of almost every famous celebrity who ever lived with their fan base pretending they deserve a halo over their head. Their crap stinks too.

Watched the first two Divergent series films yesterday. Can't quite shake the feeling it just wants to be the Hunger Games though.
Anyway it's just about watchable escapism.

Will probably watch the third one today at some point. Mrs AFB seems to like them.

I watched Captain America: The First Avenger last night. I've seen it before, but I need to clear off some space on my DVR. It is a good movie...

Hail Hydra!
