Dans la Maison, another great French movie about a boy who writes about his friend's family for his literature class but turns into an obsession.

Tonight Blade Runner & Ghost in the Shell just had to watch both back to back; former needs no accolades, the latter I feel will gain far more traction in time...

Together a tremendous watch

I watched Blade Runner Final Cut back in Feb. I think it is considered the best of the 7 versions of this movie, closest in line with the Director's original vision. :)

Really, what did you not like about it. The family and I saw it over the weekend and thought it was fun. The visuals are great and in that sense it sorta reminded me of Avatar. Obviously, there are comparisons to The Fifth Element. All in all it was a neat sci-fi adventure.

Visuals were fine and looked great. I didn't care for the Avatar look to it, but I know that Cameron's VFX studio had a heavy hand in visuals. Really disappointed at lack of character development. Lead actor was terrible. Overall the plot just felt really empty and the love story was far from developed.

Things I did like: the market scene, which really gave me The Fifth Element feel from the visuals, costuming, and whacky characters. The three Doghan Daguis were decent. That one Boulan-Bathor was hilarious (not giving any spoilers here). Rhianna's one-liner was the only part I truly laughed.

A true Unicorn among movies.
[doublepost=1501006108][/doublepost]Just watched "The Void" on Netflix and loved it. On more than one occasion the actors repeated my exact words as they notice the events unfolding. The ending should have been two minutes earlier, in my opinion.

Saw Valerian last night. Wasn't very impressed.
That makes me sad. I had high hopes for this one.

Rats, I had a feeling this one might have troubles. It looks really cool, but the story did not seem all that compelling. I will see it when it comes to video.

I didn't like it at all.
Slow-paced, dull and constrained etc.

Well this sucks, this is on my watch list.

Saw Spider-Man Home Coming and thought it was really, really good. Michael Keaton takes the pie in this one though. His character and betrayal of that character is spot on for me.

wow, what a great movie. has everything a thriller should have. even has those weird 80's backround sounds like Halloween had when there is a pop up scare involved. thought provoking as well.

Watched The Circle a couple nights ago. Overall a ridiculous movie with a terrible ending.

Been watching lots of letdowns lately. Any suggestions on a GOOD movie?

Colossal, terrible movie; Maybe I missed something but I felt like it had zero character development, a weird plot, bad CGI and overall boring.

Maybe if you take off the monsters thing, it might feel like a tolerable drama.

@Tech198 Great choice. Awesome atmosphere, and great acting all around. Does a fantastic job of transporting viewers to a different time and place.

I had the opportunity to watch Baby Driver and The Big Sick and highly recommend seeing both on the big screen.

I also had the chance to rewatch the U.K. version of "Death at a Funeral" on a plane. Frank Oz gave me three comedies I enjoy watching over and over. Death at a Funeral, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and In and Out.

The Sword Identity (2011) Two words: don't bother. This movie proves why I prefer wuxias and kung fu movies from 35-50 years ago to modern ones: no characterization, not funny and two minutes of interesting choreography which is more than I can say for most of these films over the past decade.

Glad I rented.

And lots of Shaw Brothers movies, as usual, including another early rough and tumble for buxom Shaw's starlet Chen Ping, 1975"s Queen Hustler. not as brutal as Kiss of Death, nor as satisfying as her subsequent work with Sun Chung. Queen Hustler was okay for a one time viewing. I am used to Chen kicking serious amounts of triad butt, as she is not doing that here, it's a bit of a let down.

Oh yeah, brilliant execution. Did you happen to watch the alternate ending?

This movie is a terrific example of horror/thriller done right: smart script, great acting, awesome direction, and to top it off, a _fantastic_ bit of satire/black comedy/social commentary.

I could watch Dirty Rotten Scoundrels every week. Just fires on all cylinders, and Martin and Cain are *brilliant* together.

Plus this ...

Feast (2005) Don't know really how to describe, best watch and decide for yourself's Feast is certainly gruesome, funny in places, trashy, not to be taken seriously, overall entertaining, no deep thought here mind :p

Personally I like it, not the run of the mill film, often appeals to me...

Just watched "The Void" on Netflix and loved it.

It's ridiculous fun. :D

For those wondering, it's kind of a throwback horror flick, got a bit of a Carpenter vibe, mostly [all?] practical effects - featuring Cthulhu-dian monsters with tentacles-o-plenty. Obviously this is one of those 8/10 for fans of the genre, 3/10 for everyone else

I came across the The Void while digging about for Lovecraft themed films, enjoyed certainly delivers, just goes and goes. Recently watched with one of my very best friends, s he's big into horror, her face was a picture. Watch The Void late at night alone, watch again with friends after a few drinks who haven't seen the film, highly entertaining
