Ant Man And The Wasp (2018)- It was good, fun, but it’s one of those movies where it’s just too calculated and frantic action. The first one was better. ...and I did not see Capt America: Civil War which left AM, Dr Pim and Hope in a legal predicament upon which this movie started, something about going to Germany to help CA. I guess I’ll have to watch that.

Saw Bohemian Rhapsody. It felt more like performance and imitation than a good biopic with a good story. It was enjoyable though, 6.5/10

Agreed. There really wasn't any character development. It was a very fast paced movie also. Having said that, we enjoyed it quite a bit. That was my only real complaint. We really didn't get to know any of the characters. We got see glimpses of them. I agree with your grade also.

So I walk buy the family room and hear this german music, maybe it's a waltz and I shout out to my wife Where Eagles Dare! It's the scene in Where Eagles Dare when Clint Eastwood is sneaking up on the Radio Operator in the Schloss Adler, to use his knife, but the music is turned off, Clint makes a squeak, the radio operator sees him and sounds the alarm. Promptly Richard Burton shoots the operator with a silenced pistol.

I've always asked, why did they not just shoot him in the first place!? Oh, I know, because the alarm had to get tripped somehow! :p

The question is what waltz(?) is he listening to, before he switches it to polka?

Great film though!

About to pop Mandy (2018), directed by Panos (son of George P.) Cosmatos and starring the one and only Nicolas Cage in to the player. Say what you want about Nic Cage, but the man is never boring, and when he does bring his A-game, he can act many a fine actor right under the table.

I have high hopes for this one, Cosmatos' previous film Beyond the Black Rainbow was pretty cool, and the soundtrack is sublime. Really recommended.

Cage was great as was the actress playing the title character, but the villains suck so bad, that Cage, the actress and the awesome visuals were almost pushed aside. Very disappointing, but I’ll give Panos another shot if he continues to make genre films.

Ouch. Well, it's a good thing I have beer to soften the potential disappointment. Still going in with an open mind.

There really seems to be potential there with him, so I'm pretty intrigued what the future brings.

Most people utterly love this film, and I am generally fine with actors playing cults and cult leaders so campy, but this was awful camp that just took me right out of the movie.

Just finished watching Outlaw King on Netflix.

A good 8/10 I say.

I am not disputing you, but a reviewer called it a bad version of Bravehesrt. I’ll reserve judgement. :)

You are ever the optimist.
Character development in a film of recent years?
I think most directors / screen writers don't know what the term means!
We will see this, but not sure if it will be in the theater.

Couldn’t be far from the truth. Brave heart was related to William Wallace and this one is about Robert. Different stories, different bit of the history.
