They Shall Not Grow Old by Peter Jackson. Currently on BBC iPlayer for a week

Not sure what my words about it could add really...

I want to see this one too...

Wasn't really on her radar that's finely attenuated to Pokemon and other Anime. FYI, you're talking about Melissa McCarthy (and The Happytime Murders, which, in case you didn't know, was a super raunchy adult comedy).
Yeah, after I made that post I decided to look it up and realized (to my horror) that it wasn't a kid's film. I would have edited but my ISP decided to schedule some downtime for a few hours... Just love them. But truly, I'm pretty sure it was due to the fires getting to feeds. Apparently they've been rerouting traffic for a few days which is causing some latency issues.

Actually, I didn't think Pokemon was a thing with kids your daughter's age. I know it was a big hit when my nephews were younger. I still remember everything being Pokemon this and that when my oldest nephew was a young kid. And by everything I mean everything was Pokemon themed, even for adults. The 90s was a strange decade.

Pokemon GO has been a *huge* hit with kids her age, and older ... and adults :D She doesn't really watch the show, just into the game and random Pokemon memes - she's more of a YA type Anime fan (have to keep tabs on her for how much it goes towards Y from A ...)

Solo: A Star Wars Story
Just.... meh..... all around. Not enough dogfights, and the actors were..... disappointing (granted they had a lot to live up to). But I can't shake the feeling that this movie was "unnecessary".

Well, I knew that going in and tried to enjoy it just as a movie and not as a star wars movie. I did. It was good, not great. I liked how they did the kesel (?) run and explained how he did in in record distance. I didn't need an explanation for his last name and putting a sentient robot's programming into a ship and not another robot was just horrible. She's now trapped in there for decades!!

We watched "The Spy Who Dumped Me" last night. It was a pretty good comedy starring Mila Kunis. Not a truly great piece of cinema but it was funny and we enjoyed it. Well worth a watch if you like comedy! And, as an aside, there were quite few locations in it that were also in "Atomic Blonde".

Overlord
Nazi-zombies. Was expecting a pretty mindless horror/action flick, but it exceeded my expectations. The opening sequence was fantastic. There are some pacing issues, but that's forgivable. Jovan Adepo's acting was top notch.

Juliet, Naked - Ethan Hawke as an aging rock star with loads of kids, meets Rose Byrne who is in a relationship with one of his superfans. It stunk, the storytelling has no weight, feels like one of those average english comedies even though its directed by an American. Hawke was good but he's done great work all year - between First Reformed, this, and Blaze - he's really outdoing his past performances. First Reformed is definitely something everyone should see.

A bit of a cold start.

Still waiting for something to happen.

Eventually it turned out to be a mediocre fire fight action movie.

On Netflix I’m watching a bio of Hank Paulson, Bush 43’s Treasury secretary and a former CEO of Goldman Sachs. The film is Hank: Five Years From The Brink. Aside from new insights into how Paulson got to where he ended up in his views of politics and finance, the film is providing more than a glimpse into the lives of an interesting couple: he and his wife fell in love way back in their college years, are still together, have a couple grown kids and are deep into avocations related to wilderness and environmental concerns.

Had some iTunes credit and decided to finally check this out:
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
During an adventure into the criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his future co-pilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion.

We sat around eating Thanksgiving dinner and watching the 4K Ultra HD uncut version of Deadpool 2. We saw the edited version in the theatre when it came out and really enjoyed it. The uncut version was even funnier. They had enough noticeable footage added back that it really made a difference. If you liked the original cut version you'll like this one, too!
