Giant (1956)- One of my favorite all time epics about a sprawling Ranch in Texas, the wife from Maryland, and racial discrimination. All star cast, outstanding performances especially one by James Dean.

Jumanji: welcome to the jungle. No idea why they needed to do a re-make, but this was just a fun adventure movie. IMDB has it at 7. I'd say 7.5.
The original was better! :)

Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened (2019) on Netflix

Wow. I had read about this dumpster fire of an event before, but this whole scene not exactly being "my thing" there was still lots of new information to take in. There was a level of professional interest involved when I started watching this, but after about fifteen minutes I decided that the decisions made by the organizers of Fyre were not something I need to be thinking about while working, so it was easier to just turn off my brain and enjoy the calamity of the unfolding of events.

While it works as an "As an event producer you probably shouldn't do this" -manual of sorts, it's also an interesting look at the use of social media and how people are able to monetize their use of it to a staggering degree. And how much of what you see on there is just fluff.

Great documentary.

Wow, just wow!

Just watched the brand new ‘Polar’ on Netflix, an original Netflix film. It is stunning, superb, it is one of the best if it’s genre I’ve seen yet!
Great writing, characters so over exaggerated and over played as they are meant to be, in fact superb acting all round and Vanessa Hudgens shows a completely new acting side!
Matt Lucas was brilliantly cast..
It’s oike Sin City and Kill Bill in one, Well it does fall into the same genre, like ‘Shoot Em Up’ or ‘Crank’.

Anyway if you like those sorts of films, have a Netflix account, watch Polar, I loved it.

Mads Mickkelsen was superb too, he pulled off some great stunts.

I saw the trailer for that. I’ll have to watch it.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse

I enjoyed the Spider-Man movies, in general, so expected a bit more from this one. It had some interesting effects, and parts of it were entertaining, but I was ready to be done about halfway through.

Ah well.

Just don’t watch it with anyone who has a sensitive nature to violence... they go a bit gruesome on it lol. Fantastic effects and camera work actually.

We watched "Venom" last night. It was a great addition to the Marvel films. Lots of action and amusing dialogue. Glad we got to see it!

I enjoyed it too, I wasn’t really expecting that much from it but was pleasantly surprised. They did a good job on it.

I watched Little Italy on Amazon prime for next week's How Did This Get Made episode. It was one of the most unwatchable movies they ever picked. The Italian stereo types were so offensive. I don't mean that in a snowflake way, I mean it in a it was so unfunny and unoriginal way....Like Jerry Seinfeld once said "It offended me as a comedian."

I recently watched The Manchurian Candidate. I watched both versions; old and new. Personally I liked the older version with Frank Sinatra a little better, but both movies were good.

I was amazed at how much Meryl Streep reminded me of Hillary Clinton though. In a scary creepy/not good way.

Just finished watching the latest "The Predator" movie. Not the worlds best movie, but it was a stupid fun SF action movie. Lots of humor and good action. It was a fun flick!

Cool. Will wait until I can rent from other channels per say, but I always have time for Mads as action hero.

Starting to revisit some favorite Italian and Hong Kong films and am enjoying them. Getting a bit antsy waiting on the All the Colours of the Dark blu ray though (I’ll receive the back up copy first tomorrow, as the distributor will finally ship my Black Friday bundle then ).

Also saw Raiders of the Lost Ark twice and From Russia with Love.

Both were fun.

Raiders yes. FRWL not so much. Definitely not one of my favourite Bonds.

Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods. So, years after binge-watching the series, I finally see the pilot. I don't have any desire to re-watch the series, though.
