Is that statement based on the the original source material? If so, I’d like to hear more.First was absolutely ok, what concerns Alita, I have mixed feelings. Storyline is corrupted, but the CGI was perfect.

I can certainly understand the polarizing reviews. To be honest, I was so lost while watching this in the theater. Confused, uncomfortable, overwhelmed... I heard that if you haven't figured it out by the end, a clue comes up during the credits (in the characters' names). Once I saw it, it all clicked for me right then, like a lightbulb moment. A lot of movies are utterly forgettable. This one, I honestly spent the next few days thinking about. Watched it a couple more times after it released on blu-ray, and enjoyed it more each time.I watched Darren Aronofsky's mother! (2017) last night. Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem star as a woman and a man, and the story takes place in their remote, newly renovated house that, sometime in the past, suffered a devastating fire. One day a strange man (Ed Harris) arrives looking for a room to stay in, and despite the woman's reluctance they agree to let him stay for a while.
An intriguing film. A bit heavy handed on the symbolism and metaphors at times, but just strange enough to keep you (or at least me) interested for the duration of 2 hours. The absence of a traditional score (one was composed by the late great Jóhan Jóhannsson but ultimately scrapped in favor of using general sound design to create the mood) was a nice touch, and something I didin't even notice until the second half of the film. It was just one of those things you can't quite put your finger on but notice none the less.
Interesting stuff. Entertaining? Not really (at least in the traditional sense), but still interesting.
Like half a story or an incomplete story? I’d agree with that. The movie is not bad. Watchable. Once.
The problem as I have mentioned is with the development of the story.
I enjoyed it, but felt that there was something missing.
Triple Frontier (2019)- Netflix film about former Special Forces soldiers who execute a heist against a drug lord. The previews looked good, but the story was eh. I like Oscar Isaac from his Ex Machina performance, but he could not save it. Ben Affleck was mediocre.
Lol...yeah, but you get to see him get shot in the head so that was neat
Hunt, you can say both ("half a story or an incomplete story") and that was my problem with the movie.Like half a story or an incomplete story? I’d agree with that.

Saw US, which I was not a fan of. Scripting was clunky and the overall conclusions it made had too many holes. It tries to be funny and sometimes succeeds. None of it was scary. Its weird that this feels like more of a first film than Get Out because of such bad scripting.
