Captain Marvel (2019). Entertaining, but clichéd as it can get. I think I will forget of this movie quite soon. Is it bad? No, not at all. Is it good? No, not at all.
Fight scenes were horrible due to camera placement and movement.
Plot started slow, middle was good, end was meh.
Some of the characters were very well developed.
Love the cat.
Brie Larson's acting was ok. Not Oscar worthy for sure, but I think it's more a problem of the writing than her actual skills.

Is it important for the continuity of the Marvel Comic canon to see it? Will I be lost if I skip it and see the next Avenger film?

I honestly don’t think so. It clearly provides some elements, but I don’t think that you will be lost. However, if you really care about continuity I’d recommend to watch it.

Absolutely not. Its an origin story of Captain Marvel, you just need to know that she is very powerful. But if you want the 411 as the kids say:

So captain marvel got her powers because an alien came to earth and was working on a faster than light speed engine using the tesseract. The ship she was building exploded and the tesseract's power flew into Carol Danvers (spelling?), a pilot working with the alien (Carol is a regular human, the alien was disguised as a human). Carol loses her memory and a different alien kidnapped her and saved her with a blood transfusion from their species. So Carol is now part alien and has these powers.
She winds up back on Earth and joins up with young Nick Fury and young guy who was killed in Avengers 1 by Loki to protect the tesseract and save an alien species (long story). Yadda yadda yadda, Fury gets the tesseract, Carol learns how powerful she really is and a cat scratches Fury's eye. In the end, Carol, now fully Captain Marvel, flies off into space with the aliens she saved and leaves a communication device (Fury's old beeper) for him to contact her in emergencies only. The final shot is Fury working on a document called THE PROTECTORS INITIATIVE (ok, protectors might be the wrong word, it was something like that), he looks at a picture of Carol by her fighter jet and sees the word AVENGER on it. He then changes PROTECTORS' to AVENGERS and we fade out. Two end credit scenes later, the movie end.

Avengers Infinity War (2018)- I like Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor, but as with all Avengers movies, too much going on, too much of an ensemble effort. I prefer a more focused story. I don’t expect total agreement. ;)

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)- The Harry Potter vibe, but not as good, although I liked Johnny Depp in a role more normal for him. :)

The trouble with the Marvels Avengers movies is they are all a bit the same.
I get confused as to which I’ve seen and what order I should be watching them.
I think civil war was the last one I saw?

I watched half of Crimes so far. It’s kind of confusing.

Here's a good guide to watching the MCU. All the movies really are connected (especially through the end credits scenes, so watch all the way to the absolute end!).

Here's another order that includes Captain Marvel.

American Made(2017)
Cool flick, well made and a great soundtrack. Cruise wasn’t a good fit, he seemed out of place with his fake southern accent.

Avengers, Age of Ultron, Infinity War, End Game. I own none of the first 3.

Civil War is Captain America. When we watched Infinity War, we realized there were things , we missed or forgot as far as who all the players were and the status of some relationships. Thanos In Infinity War is a good character and I remember him from Guardians of the Galaxy.

I’ve seen the first Guardians of the Galaxy, but it’s one of the last films we watched with Miss AFB, so it’s not one I’d watch again or the sequel tbh.
Just stupid association on my part.

The Highwaymen on Netflix. A Bonnie and Clyde movie told from the point of view of the two cops who brought them down. Good performances by Kevin Costner and woody Harrelson but slow moving and nothing special.

We watched "How To Talk To Girls At Parties". It's based on a Neil Gaiman story. It was a weird movie, but I am pretty sure I enjoyed it. It's a real strange movie and has a good bit of emotion to it. And Punk Rock. This movie may not be for everyone, but I rather liked it.
