Young Frankenstein(1974) (pronounced Fronkonsteen ;))

Been awhile but still remains an awesome comedy.

Saw this 3 times in the theater on it’s initial release. :)
[doublepost=1553981212][/doublepost]The Highwaymen (2019)- Keven Costner and Woody Harrelson , billed as the true story of Bonnie and Clyde.
Atmospheric, feels like 1930s America, Costner and Harrelson are good actors, but the story creeps along until the explosive end. Of interest, as this ties in with the 1967 movie, a pretend broken down car of one of gang member’s father plays a roll in the final confrontation. Although depicted in both movies, I’m not sure if it happened that way.

When I compare this to the 1967 Warren Beatty movie Bonnie and Clyde, there is no comparison from an entertainment standpoint. You can say that real life is rarely entertaining as artistic license, and Warren Beatty’s movie has high cinematic qualities that make it powerful and a classic. I vividly remember the scene where they are driving away from a shootout with police, with the blood, screaming, and Clyde’s brother fatally wounded.

I enjoyed it very much.

Bonnie and Clyde were horrible people.

Another pleasant surprise.

Yet 20,000 people to went to Bonnie’s funeral, and 15,000 to Clyde’s, the cult of personality. ;)
Has nothing to do with how horrible they were as people.
Seeing as how they murdered 13 innocent folks, 9 of whom were cops, I'm pretty sure your point is moot.
Some people mourned Hitler's death too ;)

For anyone interested in historical accuracy or basis, apparently this memoir was referenced in the 1967 movie: http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/bonnieandclyde.htm

Watched Hotel Artemis (2018) yesterday on account of it being a discounted rental on iTunes. The film stars Jodie Foster, Dave Bautista, Jeff Goldblum among others.

It was entertaining. Could have almost been a spinoff of the whole "Continental" thing from John Wick, which I always liked as a plot element. Not really that much to think about here, but if you need entertainment for 90 minutes you could do a lot worse. And better, but still.

This is one movie I want to see. It is on my to watch list. Not expecting much from it, but to be entertained.

I would love for the John Wick crew to make a "Continental" movie. I think that would be fascinating and highly entertaining!

I've been thinking about this as well. Could even be a (mini) series of sorts with Wick's background fleshed out a bit more, and just generally exploring the whole lore of the franchise.

On the other hand, the mystery of it all is effective, so maybe it wouldn't work all that well after all. But yes, I'd definately be down for a "Continental" film!

Finally a movie i'm looking forward to this year...and it's a comic book movie!

Joaquin is a great choice, second only to Heath probably.

PS>> Wasn't sure if this is the right thread for an upcoming movie, but there you go.

I'm not too sure about this one. Looks more like a John Wayne Gacy bio pic than The Joker. Might give it a watch when it streams on Netflix.

good stuff?

Sorry, yes. Posted inadvertently while I was faffing about trying to embed the poster.

Watched it a few months ago when it was offered as a cheap iTunes rental. Bought it on the back of that in a later promotion and found myself rewatching earlier this week (initially just to check Apple TV was still working after updating to iOS 12.2!).

Always find it a good sign when a film draws you in to watching more than you intended!

It looks great. I know people who are way into Batman and they say it will suck because people are not supposed to know what made the joker the joker. Like how in the dark knight he kept changing his backstory.

Bumblebee (2018)- Not bad, not great, except great muscle cars. :) Bumblebee origins movie? The original Transformers was better.
