It looks great. I know people who are way into Batman and they say it will suck because people are not supposed to know what made the joker the joker. Like how in the dark knight he kept changing his backstory.

I dont know much about the cannon or backstory. As a standalone, this movie just looks interesting to me; Mental illness and descent into madness.

The two movies which came to mind after watching that trailer were The Exorcist and Taxi Driver, which i reckon is a brilliant angle. (Others have mentioned The King of Comedy(1983), which I can’t believe I havent seen).

King of Comedy is fantastic.

Finally got around to watching the excellent Nil By Mouth (1997) again, written and directed by Gary Oldman and starring Ray Winstone, Kathy Burke, et al.

A really hard hitting film, this one. One of the first DVDs I ever got for myself, and I've really only watched the film three times. The first time was on the TV with my father, and as we were both pretty much floored after seeing this I just had to get it for myself, despite how uncomfortable the film is to watch. Brilliant writing and directing from Oldman, and just a great, great effort by everyone involved.

Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)- Wow, good movie! I can see why Rami Malek got Best Actor. They really nailed the energy of Queen's Live Aid Performance. This just reinforces my impression that being rock Star in front of a stadium full of screaming people, is the single most powerful professional feedback any human being can receive. :)

I kept asking myself where is Mike Myers? Doh! https://ultimateclassicrock.com/mike-myers-bohemian-rhapsody/

When I listened to Bohemian Rhapsody after Mercury had passed away from AIDS, I said to myself that was a song partially about AIDS or a pretty good fit, put a gun to someone’s head, I pulled the trigger, now he’s dead, body aches all the time, good bye everybody, I've go to go, sometimes wish I’d never been born... yet that song was written well before AIDS was common knowledge. It was just a feeling of mine.

The actual concert- The power of the lead singer.

Wayne’s World

A good movie, but the first one was way better.
I agree the first one was better, but the second one built on the relationships of the Guardians and I’m enjoying the humor.

I watched this on a long flight. I grew up listening to their music without necessarily being a fan. I wasn't really into the huge concerts in the 80's, but wow, what performances.

Us (2019). I enjoyed it. It felt like a Dario Argento movie with a Body Snatchers twist, and some other elements that made the story flow.

Christopher Reeve will always be my superman.

Same here. Same here.

A funny story. My mom told me that when I was 4 or 5 and vacationing in Sicily I refused to swim (apparently I was afraid of the Mediterranean Sea) despite all of my parents' efforts to teach me how to swim. Until, one day, this American dude shows up at the beach. According to my parents I just pointed at him and yelled "Superman!" as he was "identical to Reeve" (mom's words, not mine). The dude - hearing me - told my parents that he was told many times how much he looked like Reeve. Apparently he invited me to swim and I jumped at the opportunity (I mean, it was a swim with Superman himself!) and learned some basic swimming with him (my mom said he spent at least three hours with me); the fear, gone!
Sadly I have no picture of the guy; also, apparently all the various men/husbands weren't that happy of his appearing on the beach as he stole the attention of all the ladies.
To this day, my mom thinks that the man was indeed Reeve. I have no corroboration of the story, and I don't think that the guy was Reeve, but it's a nice memory to have (I vaguely remember something). And who knows, maybe I learned how to swim from Superman!
So sad he had that accident :(

Cool story. These days he’d get accused of grooming!

Love the Die Hard series.

Me too. Do You know who the famous actor/singer was who legally had to be offered the staring role in die hard before the producers could ask anyone else?

I saw Shazam today. It was good. Nothing special. I may be at peak superhero movie.
