Sunshine is an amazing sci-fi film. I own it, too, and have viewed it numerous times. It’s one of those little known gems that will undoubtedly stand the test of time and be a fan favorite for decades to come.Sunday two-fer. 😁

What can I say? If you haven’t seen it, this is an excellent sci-fi film [This is probably my 7th viewing of this film.]. Plot synopsis-It’s the year 2057, the sun is dying and there’s a crew that is set in space to launch a payload to help reignite the sun. Along the way, there are different courses of actions that deviate their plan and the overall mission.
Couple of things worth noting:
Chris Evans (Captain America) is probably one of his best films I’ve seen him in. He absolutely has a commanding presence and it’s one of his more serious roles, ‘he steals the show’. Cillian Murphy (Inception/28 Days later) is also very good, I think this movie really advocated his career moving forward for other major films. Rose Byrne does also a really nice job in the movie, good female lead role. One of my all-time favorite sci-fi movies, ever.
But, I have to say, musical scores as I mentioned before, really can tie the viewer in. This movie has one of the best musical scores I’ve ever heard. It’s also been dubbed over many times as ‘motivational music’.

Essentially it’s about A league of female
Soldiers that enter the ‘shimmer’, which basically is this spherical realm that is surrounding the southern coast line, but anyone that really enters it, never comes out of it, except for one man (Oscar Issac) and his wife is elected to enter the shimmer to find out what happened to the previous troops and how to stop the shimmer from expanding.
Anyways......
Yeah, this is a very different type of sci-fi movie. And it to be honest with you, I’m probably going to have to watch it again, as there’s a lot of unanswered questions I have, #1.) Plot points that don’t exactly make sense,# 2.)There is a far deeper meaning to this movie then probably most viewers will pick up on initially the first time they watch this, I found myself at First disinterested, and then oddly intrigued wanting to watch more as the film progressed.
I’ve watched quite a few sci-fi films, as that’s what I prefer in that genre, but this is about as strange as it gets, and I would rank ‘Under the skin’ with Scarlett Johansson being right up there on the ‘weirdness level’ with this movie.
Just saw "Her" with Joaquin Phoenix
subtle, meaningful, complex, thought provoking.
American Pie(1999)
I'm tagging this one a classic. "God bless the internet".

The Spiderman reboots are terrible. I like Tom Holland as an actor, but it’s ‘over the top’ they had to add in way to many comical theatrics, the CGI is kinda expected in certain genre of films today, but still, but both of them seem messy, The only Spiderman’s films I actually liked was with Tobey Maguire.

Essentially all I can really say without divulging too much information, this is a murder mystery, in which an FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) and a conservation warden (Jeremy Renner) help track down a murder on an Indian reservation.
I watched this a few days back, (I probably viewed this film at least four times, if not more). I would never say this about any movie, but I rank this in one of my favorite movies of all time. The acting is spot on, the scenery is absolutely stunning, the storyline was executed perfectly and there is an excellent transition point in the Plot showing exactly how things played out in the case of the murder [Its the only seen with John Bernthal, which was rather brutal, but portrayed very realistically.]
I like Jeremy Renner as an actor, but he is on another level in this movie. Elizabeth Olsen did a stellar job portraying the female FBI agent.
Seriously, watch this film if you haven’t, I can nitpick films all day long, but this one I find perfect. It’s a culmination of suspense/storytelling and supposedly based on some realistic events. Plus, you get to see some Indian culture in this movie, which I thought was really fascinating to see.
Side note:
The director of the movie also has contributions to the first ‘Sicario’ and ‘Hell or Highwater’ with Chris Pine/Ben Foster. Which those films are also excellent.
How would you compare Salt with "Wanted"?
I think I have been discouraged with every AvP movie since the original Predator (which was excellent) and every Alien movie since Aliens. I guess I'd be willing to rent it.
I am a huge fan of The Thing. I'll check it out, hopefully I can stream it via Netflicks.
