One is the speeches, there has to be at least two if not more. I think there's a few.

The angled pain look, I blame that more on Bay though.

It's a few things that if you've seen two Will Smith films, you expect in every movie.

Sort of like Tom Cruise having to at some time run in a film, and/or swim.

In Gemini Man it's a particular speech that for me, the shift in the film downward begins.

It's 'twist' ( of sorts ) will be of absolutely no surprise, which was kind of disappointing.

Okay, got it. Thanks.

Rented Gemini Man.

Picture on the TV, especially the beginning was amazing.

The film was okay. Action in the first half great, then the Will Smithisms begin, and the final third just 'bleh'. Worth seeing it on a nice screen for $2.

‘A nice screen for $2’? So you mean like, a cheap Asus Chromebook display type quality? 😁 Is the movie really that bad?

I like Will Smith, (really I do). But he tends to ‘over act’ in his movies. Other movies that was hyped was ‘I am legend’ and ‘I-Robot’ with good plots, sometimes I think his acting style ruins the movie. I think he is a versatile actor, he’s funny in some comedies, but his serious roles are a little to serious when he goes overboard. But I still like him as an actor at the end of the day.

Edit:

I really did like Will Smith in Hancock. That to me was one of his better movies, comedy mixed with action.

Watching Jungle.

No expectations so far other than Daniel Radcliffe with an accent sounds weird.

If anyone has Criterion streaming, I highly recommend watching KES before it expires at the end of the month.

A beautiful story of a young boy and his pet. Loved it.

Also! they have a bunch of sci-fi expiring. Not expiring are some films by Paul Schrader, including a new short about his time promoting First Reformed!

Oh wow, some amazing Toho Kaiju films!

Also this!

I have an original poster of this I should get framed, it's not in great shape (it was folded), but kind of collectible, deserves a better home than my closet.

(I'm a __huge__ fan of Harlan Ellison)

I have been watching The Irishman, very good acting, the story-line is up for debate.
Just watched The Irishman, a good fictionalized (from what I’ve read*) mob movie, but at the same time I grew fatigued with who was going to get whacked next, although in the big scheme there was not that much whacking. ;) Good job making Dinero look like he was 40, however my critique is when you take a bunch of 70-80 year old actors although legendary, playing people half their age, it would be better the other way around. And the last 30 minutes of this move was really not needed imo.

*There seems to be truth in this story, but the exact method of Hoffa’s demise is undetermined: https://www.menshealth.com/entertainment/a30107469/frank-sheeran-the-irishman/

Update: I had no idea they used digital de-aging with these elderly actors. Just thought it was an excellent make up job! :) See this link.

Double Header- The best ever James Bond 2 film story arc, possibly the best James Bond, one with humanity, who can fall in love and quit the 00 business because of it. A good story + outstanding music, scenery, imagery, outstanding foot, car, boat, airplane chases, energetic fighting, intrigue and a good card game. :)

Many people always rag on QoS, but I actually quite like it. Like you said, it's a great companion piece to Casino Royale. Which is a great, great Bond film as well. And I'd have to agree with you in that Daniel Craig has been really good as James Bond. At first I had my doubts, but I'm glad I was proven wrong.

An Apple+ movie, Hala. I liked it a lot. Growing up can be difficult in ways we don't expect even when we already feel too challenged sometimes, and yet the paths forward do still call us.

I never understood the beef with QoS, splendid atmosphere, Dominic Greene/Quantum is a splendid villain and I’ve always had a crush on Camille. The movie hits all of the required Bond buttons for me. :)

Fellini's great picture 'La Strada ' 1954. Staring his wife, and America actor Anthony Quinn.

Italian, with subs. Free here on U-TUBE. Restored. One of my favorite movies of all time. A2

I’ve never seen this. I know Fellini was an influential director, but I don’t know if I have seen any of his films. Are they all in Italian? Can you describe why this is a favorite film for my benefit? :) I read a synopsis of the story. And I found a list of his best films: https://www.theguardian.com/film/2020/jan/02/all-federico-fellinis-films-ranked

Yes, I believe they are all in Italian. After all, Fellini was Italian. :)

Many of Fellini's pictures I find hard to take, but this one is a Gem. That is the reason this movie has been Re-Mastered. and so highly acclaimed.

Watch it, and let us know what you think. The Sub titles are not computer generated, and are very good. a2

I'd recommend "8 1/2" by Fellini. Since you like cinema, you'll recognize how it was far ahead of its times in its measured surrealism. I think it's one of the movies that deeply affected Lynch's filmography (to the point that Fellini allowed Lynch to meet him at the hospital a few days before his death) among other great directors.

Gosh, now I have to rewatch Fellini...

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood(2019)
Absolutely fantastic film; and Tarantino has been hit-or-miss with me. It’s about a time and a place; great period piece which just oozes style with some nice satirical touches about the industry. I’m not really a DiCaprio fan either, ever since he got on that boat, but he too did a fine job.

I’ll be buying the soundtrack on CD. Apparently it plays like a recording of a radio-station-broadcast from the time period, ads and all!! How cool is that?
